February 2010

Were also thinking about going back to disney in February... But i was wondering if we are used to going around october will the weather be such a huge difference that we cant enjoy our trip? Plus we havent even started planning so it might be to late. :confused3

Nope, not to late.. we are all anxiously waiting for a code to be released.. Past history shows that they often release codes in October or November..

I have been watching closely since August, cause I wanna know right away when something comes up!

We are going sometime in february...the amount of time we will be there will greatly depend on the deal that is going on. Right now we are only planning on 3 nights...but if we have a good deal...maybe 5-7 :-)

We, too, usually go in October, but now that my son is in football - can't do it. So we went in January this year. Not quite prepared for the temps! It was also a freakishly cold week. We're going again - in early February this time - and we'll be better prepared. I wouldn't trade the weather for the crowds any day.

We are planning a trip for the Jan 31st through Feb 6. Hoping for low crowds after my last two trips have been during Easter week. Hate to risk possible refurbs but its a pain dealing the crowds even with FP during peak times. I've never seen it so bad they have had to close the main gate due to capacity (as rumored it was this past Easter) but bad enough that even with FP you had some waits. So hopefully February will be much better...

Same here - Jan 31 to Feb 6.

My first day is actually Jan 31, but since the bulk is Feb.. My dates are Jan 31 - Feb 8th.

If there is no 4/3 deal...I'm booked at POR.
If there IS a 4/3 deal I'm moving to the Wilderness Lodge!

That is my exact plan!!! For the same dates.. well Jan 31- Feb 7th.

Doing the :banana: of excitement with you for now, but you will be my enemy if the 4/3 deal comes out!;)

This is a question for your 2004 trip....why does it say never again? Was that the resort (cause we're staying at POP in February) or the age of your youngest child? lol

Going to Disney February 10-20 staying at AKV Jambo House we rented points from a DVC owner. We are staying 8 nights Studio Savannah view then 2 nights Studio Concierge level. Our stay averaged out to be $180 per night by renting points. Beats rack rates and I believe will definitely beat out any code rates that come out. We've rented before and feel it's such a great way to experience deluxe resorts without the deluxe rates! We rented right here on the rent/trade board.

We will be going 2/6-2/12 and staying at ASMovies.....We are so excited, like the rest of you I am worried about the 10/27 ADR date....I see you talking about a 4/3 deal. Does that mean stay four days and get 3 free?? If so, is that just your resort or also park tickets?

Historically are there ever any discount codes during February break? Don't know when to book. Everything is sooooo expensive. The airfare from New York is outrageous!

Do you have to go during Pres Week? If so that makes it tough cost wise. I am going the week following Pres Week and we booked very reasonable (IMO) airfare non stop from Detroit to Orlando for $180 per person.

Have you been following the thread on this board about the rumored discounts possibly to be announced as soon as next week? I don't know if Pres week will be included or not. Also go to the mousesavers.com website to learn more about discounts.

Good luck.

On touringplans.com I just read that the buy 4 get 7 deal is going to be announced next week. Value resorts are suppose to get a different deal. I will paste the little snippet below.

"Details are still being worked out, but we’ve heard from multiple, usually-reliable sources that Disney’s Buy-4-Get-7 deal will return next week. The announcement may be made as early as Monday, but could be as late as Thursday. Value resorts will have a slightly different “Buy-5-Get-2″ deal. Travel dates, we hear, could be October 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. Book by December 20, 2009 (we think that’ll be extended). And you must purchase Magic Your Way tickets to match the number of nights of your stay." from touringplans.com - news link

Thanks I will keep trying. I am limited to the time because can't take my 10th grader out of school.................

I totally understand, my two kids are both in HS now and hate to miss a day of school for anything because they get so far behind! I have always felt so lucky that our public school vacation is the week after Pres Week.

Keep checking, hopefully something will open. And if not consider staying at one of the DTD hotels. I know the DTD Hilton participates in EMH and has a park shuttle service (we are considering staying there on our arrival night to save $) which would be helpful during a busy time.

:goodvibes

Well it's nice to hear theres something in the works. I don't like that values would be a different deal. I also hope that the GCs are offered again, A value with 4 for 3 plus a $200 or more gift certificate would be the only way it would work out to be worth it for me. And I am unfortunatly booking for Presidents Day week just like everyone else. So I'm pretty much hoping for exactally the same as last year and I don't think thats what I'm going to get!

CherylA, what did you get last year? It looks we are waiting for a deal for the same time. We will be there 2/15-2/19.

We didn't actually go last year but the offer was buy 4 get 3 (for any Disney resort) this was also for your park tickets. Plus you got a $200 gift certificate if you traveled by I think it was early March. I think there was a way to get an additional $100 on that for $300 total. I don't know what the qualification was but I know we would have met it traveling Presidents week. And although Presidents week sold out quickly, it wasn't excluded from the deal. We had just come back from an Oct trip so I didn't end up booking February.

This year I have the train booked and we are supposed to arrive Feb 15th and depart on Feb 22nd. I am considering booking the Swan with my Amex Rewards points if a great deal is not to be had though Disney. We also may end up doing less nights if we take the 4 night Disney cruise that leaves on Feb 21. I'm considering buying an AP for those discounts (and because we would get 3 trips out of the AP) So many variables. I wish I just knew what all the discounts were going to be so I could firm up my plans!

Is the train much cheaper? I haven't booked my airfare yet but from Long Island, New York the cheapest I have found is $399 into Tampa (I have a family function on 2/14). I guess I really have to decide and book Disney. Does it actually sell out or do they run out of discounts? I will only be there Monday - Thursday.
