FEBRUARY 2008 WDW travelers post HERE!!!

Just wanted to post that I think our discounts should be coming soon.

First...there were pin codes released earlier this week for packages with free ticket upgrades and a slight room discount for dates in 2008.

Today....the same discount packages were released for Canadian guests for January and early February dates.

Also....the current discount code for room-only reservations until the end of 2007 will end tomorrow (10/20/07).

So....I'm just guessing that our discounts should be released very soon.

Just wanted to add that I found a little more info about the Canadian package by visiting the Canadian version of the Disneyworld.com website.

The package is the same as the pin codes....$385 per adult for a 5 day / 4 night package based on double occupancy with the free hopper and water park ticket upgrade.

The interesting thing is that the Canadian package states that packages booked prior to 11/01/07 require a Canadian address.

This leads me to believe that this same package will be released to everyone else on 11/01/07....but, I'm still hoping that they release it earlier.

Here's the direct link to the Canadian package:

No code for me! I check every time and they never have one attached to my name. I guess they know I'm coming back no matter what, so why bother!;)

OFF TOPIC - Anyone going to the big game in Tiger Stadium tomorrow night?

Sabrina, maybe if you tell them about all thier new friends that will be dressing up - they might want too?!! They are all going to be so cute!!!

Nahhh, I'll just take costumes and give them the sad mom guilt trip face :rotfl2: and they'll wear them and be happy once they see all the other kids in costumes..

WooO-Hoooo codes could be out tomorrow for us!!! Man that means I gotta get up at 3 or 4 in the morning to check and be on the phone with Disney reservations..

Sabrina,

I don't want to get my hopes up too high. I did notice on the Canadian Discount Package that a Canadian address is required to book the discount package prior to 11/1/07. That would lead me to believe the package will open up to everyone on 11/1/07.

Here's the site:

I hope I am wrong and that the package is released tomorrow...but, at least I feel a little better knowing what the discount will probably be (small room discount and free ticket upgrade).

So it is a small discount on the room plus the upgrades? Trying to figure out if our AAA or possibel AP rate would be better, as we're just planning on getting base tickets. If we got the discount code, I'd add on Non-expiry and make them 10day tickets to save the Water Parks part for when we go when it would be warmer.

Still happy getting closer and closer and thats all that really matters.. Wondering if its going to go to VISA members first then general public????

Ok all you way more experienced than me wonderful Disers - how do these discount work? For example, the Canadian discount is for $385 per adult for 4 days 5 nights - I think right? If ours comes out to be the same, how does that work if your reservation is for longer? Is it really a $ rate per day and they will multiply it times your days? or will it only apply to the specific amount of days stated and the rest will be at regular rate?

Also, what about kid rates? Are they discounted too?

Thanks for any clarification. :flower3:

OK, can someone do a quick explination of what a PIN is and how I get one. I'd appreciate it.

Hi! A postcard or email has to come to you directly with a pin code on it. The pin is good for you or a party traveling with you only. You can call and book a discount using this pin. No one seems to know how you can get them, it is pretty much random.

Pin codes are usually sent via postcard or e-mail. Since Disney may have an old physical address or an old e-mail address on file, it's usually a good idea to just call and ask them if a pin code is attached to your name. The e-mail could also possibly get filtered into your spam folder.

There is no proven way to receive a code. It seems to be random. The best you can do is to sign up for everything Disney.....like registering on the Disney.com website and registering anywhere else Disney.

I have been to Disney 5 times from 2004 to 2007 and we are going back in 2008. I have never received a pin code.

Good Luck....

Well, thanks for the information at least. I have registered for Disney things but don't ever remember getting a PIN code. I'll look closely at any Disney emails I get from now on. Thanks.

So it is a small discount on the room plus the upgrades? Trying to figure out if our AAA or possibel AP rate would be better, as we're just planning on getting base tickets.QUOTE]

Just FYI, I booked using a pin, and 4 nights, 5 days at WL std room with PH's for our family of 4 (dd11, ds12) would have been $2124.68, and with base tickets, it would have been $1933 per WDW website. I paid $1766.62, so it seems to me that I must have gotten a slight room reduction, too; seems to be about 18%. The package also includes the mini golf voucher, the sea raycer voucher, and the planet hollywood $15 off. Just thought those numbers might help those trying to see if AAA or AP would be a better discount.

Ok...I will finally put my accounting degree to good use and figure out the Disney math on this potential discount package. This is all based on Value season since the discount seems to run in January and February during Value Season.

Discount Package
2 Adults - $385 per Adult for 4 nights at a Value Resort and a 5 Day Base Ticket that is upgraded for free to a hopper, waterpark, and more pass for each adult.

Discount Package Total = $770 (assuming that the $385 is after tax)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 Adult 5-day Base Tickets = $457.96 (after tax)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since the discount package has base tickets that are upgraded for free....subtract the base ticket price from the discount package to get the room portion.

$770 minus the $457.96 for the tickets leaves you with $312.04 for 4 nights. That gives you a total of $78.01 per night.

AAA room rate is $65.60 per night plus tax for a total of $74.13 per night. So, you would basically pay $3.88 more per night than AAA on the room, but get the free upgrade on the tickets to hopper, waterparks, and more.

AP rate has been as low as $49 per night....but, recently it has usually been $59 per night for a value resort. That's $66.67 per night after tax.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course...that does not take into account that you could purchase the base tickets at a discounted rate. Instead of paying $457.96 for 2 adult 5-day base tickets....you could get tickets for $221 per adult or $442 total.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I backed out the tax, and it seems that the package gives you free upgrades on the tickets and a $69 room rate on the room.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yahoo! I just got the Canadian discount! :dance3:

this make me save 395$ because we already have take the Park Hopper and now it's free.

When you remove the saving for the Park Hopper, we have a discount of 10$ on the room rate by night of stay.

Always good to have!

I hope this discount will be available to all of you soon! :cool1:

I called this afternoon-no pin w/ my name, no AP rates out yet. I am waiting in my SIL about BBB-but if we do it, it won't be the day of the P&PP, it will be on the day we go to CRT.

We decided to stay at Disney the night before our cruise and spend the day at the Magic Kingdom! We are so excited! We are looking to stay at one of the value resorts for less than the $94 rate our travel agent gave us.

I can't wait! Did i read right that you guys are going to have a mini meet on Saturday night? I would love to be a part of that!

Tara
Going on a cruise for Mardi Gras!!!

Hope something is announced soon for later Feb. No choice but President's Week, the free upgrade makes that easier.
The same discount has been in effect the last two years, so I am using that as a positive sign.
