FEBRUARY 2008 WDW travelers post HERE!!!

Thanks triplefigs - I wanted that ADR - off to call now

We will be at WDW celebrating our twins 6th B-day in Feb. and was waiting for the Safari breafkast! Just got off the phone and was able to get a 9:20 reservation.:cool1:

Glad to help! They said Daisy Duck would be there too with Donald, Mickey, and Goofy.

Awesome!!!! I'm gonna ask DS after school if he wants me to change one of ours!!!! Thanks Triplefigs!!!

Someone had asked about the procedure for applying codes........... when a code comes out, all you do is call and have it applied to your EXISTING reservation. MAKE SURE they DO NOT cancel it.......... you may not get it back!!!!!!!

Just call and tell them you want it applied, give them the code and it should be all set.

As for when to expect a code............... I too am guessing Nov. timeframe, I wouldn't be suprised if it was even after Thanksgiving!!!

I just wish they'd hurry up with the P&P Party dates!!!!! pirate: princess:

OMG Lori.............. How adorable!!!! I love your little Pirates!!! You know now that we are going to have no choice but to get our little Pirates together!!!! Love It!!! I think they are all ready!!!

I LOVE it!!! How many Jack Sparrows were there last year?? hundreds???
I cannot wait for the dates to be released and go on sale. AWANA is tonight so they get to use the costumes tonight for that Pirate night. Then halloween , then DISNEY!!!
I'd love to meet up at that party!!

We will need to email photos of ourselves (since we've seen the kids!) to be on the lookout.
I will give you our polished up itinerary the week or 2 before we leave!!

Lori

Wendypooh...thanks for the info on applying codes. I will make sure to tell them not to cancel my existing reservation. I hope the code is not for free waterparks. We're not planning to do that, anyway. Isn't it a little cold for that in February???

For all you Pirate people out there...what age is it appropriate for kids to watch Pirates of the Caribbean? My son is almost 5, and he really wants to watch it. My husband and I have never seen it, so I have no idea if it's scary or what. All I know is that it's rated PG-13, but it seems like lots of younger kids have watched it and love it. Any opinions? I know this is off-topic, but it seems like there are lots of people on this thread who have kids who have dressed up for the P&P party.

ARRRGGGGG Yeah, we'll def. get together!!!

I love them, they are soooo cute!!! I'll send you our iten. too!!!

AMY ~ You are welcome!!! I had them cancel my reserv. one year and I didn't get it back - had to rebook and lost 2 days as they were not avail. anymore????!!!!! I just don't want that to happen to anyone else, and I've read many times on these boards that it has happened to others!!

As for the Pirates movie........... my DS is 7 and he's seen all of the pirates movies, he loves them!! I think they are fine, but I CAN see where some might find them to be a little violent or whatever, there is a lot of sword fighting, etc..... which I don't mind.

I'd suggest You and DH watch it first then decide. I'd hate to say....... go ahead, then you be upset for some reason!!! Personally though, we love them and I think they are fun.

** Just a little side note.......... DS told me over the weekend that he couldn't watch ET anymore!!! I asked him why and he said cause it's rated R!!!!!! He's seen it a million times and sure enough on the dvd box it is rated R. Who knew??!! :confused3

My youngest is 7-she was a little freaked out by the seashell people in the second one-but I thought they were really ingenious-so I put that spin on it for her and we just laugh at them now. I thought they were really beautiful-esp if you could see them in the light-but it is a darker lit movie.
My 9 year old had no probelms whatsoever with them. They started to see them when they came out in the theaters after us seeing it first-so they were a little younger. Our older one saw #1 in the theater, but younger one, we waited for it to come out on DVD.
Most movies that I question , we will see first and sometimes we see them in the theater with the kids(so few and far between are good movies out) and sometimes we wait for the DVD. The sound effects in the theaters are sometimes scarier than what is on the screen-you don't get that "submersed in the movie" effect.

Anyway- I agree with Wendypooh-see it for yourself, then decide. We also did that with the 1st Harry Potter on DVD, and LOVED it-the kids saw it the next day!!

Lori

My kids have seen a few of the Star Wars movies and weren't afraid of them. I think they could probably handle "Pirates," but I guess I should probably screen it first. I had no idea ET was rated R!!! Nowadays it would've been rated G! My kids love that movie, too. I better not tell them it's rated R, or they'll want to watch more R movies! :-)

my DD4 has seen Pirates and loves it! She doesn't scare easily though. And she's probably too young to understand the bad stuff. But she LOVES Elizabeth and just wants the parts with her in it! She also likes Wil Turner. Who doesn't? :)

You know, I have been thinking about this a lot. The last two years they offered the free ticket upgrade the water parks part wasnt as expensive as it was 1 water park day for 3 day pass, now the water park pass equals the number of day pass you have, so I am really wondering if it is going to be a different offer???

Yes I know too much time on my hands:rolleyes1 , I hate the time frame between ADRS and Codes

Hi Gang,

It's been a while since I've checked in. So much going on with my 5 year old, Kindergarten and Music Lessons, running here and running there.. Ugh...

Doesn't it sound like I need a Disney Vacation right NOW??? I sure wish. My husband e-mailed me at work today to tell me 120 days until Disney.

I am wondering too, like all of the others about those codes. I am "wishing"
for an early release - how about TODAY :)))

Happy Waiting Everyone....

Hi Sabrina,

Just noticed you are in LA, my DH and I have talked about going to Disneyland CA, is there any reason why you come from CA to FL for your trips? Is Disneyland not as good as Disney World ? I know they don't have as many parks, but that's about all I know.

no not crazy at all - ds saw them in the theater and loved them, we watch them all the time at home. I just was saying if she's concerned she should watch it first. I would say it's fine, let them watch, the movies are not bad in my opinion at all. But, others may not feel the same way.

We always get hoppers, so the last 2 years or so, we've gotten refunded since that was part of the code - free hoppers, waterparks, & more, with a small room rate reduction. If it saves us any $$ at all and it's better than the AAA rate - then that'll be great!!!

Also, the water is heated in the winter - so you can go to the waterparks, many people do. We don't, but we do like to enjoy the pool. Remember that Feb. can be a little chilly in the am, or frosty, or very warm!!!!! We always pack for either. If you look at my p&p party pics you'll notice DS in his heavy coat, it was really cold the night we went, but two days later it was VERY warm - I wish we'd waited to go!!!!

Yes, I was thinking about it some more last night and the way the fighting scenes are done are very "kid-friendly" if that makes sense. No blood, no gory stuff. It actually prompted my daughter to say that they should go in time out for fighting! :rotfl:
