FEBRUARY 2008 WDW travelers post HERE!!!

So, to pass the time until the hours DO come out -- what is everyone's strategy for planning which days in which parks and making ADRs? Do you aviod EMHs? Plan the parks to hit EMHs? Some other strategy?

When we went in May last year, we went to whichever park had evening EMH that day. It wasn't that crowded while we were there and I wanted to have as much time in each park as possible. (And we didn't have park hoppers.) This time we will be there the week after President's Week (2/23 - 3/1), so hopefully it won't be TOO crowded, but I'm wondering if we should avoid the EMH parks . . . .

I've been through this before but I forget the answer. If I book at 2008 rack rates for February, make ADRs, and then a code comes out around December can I just change to the code rate?

I mostly follow the Unofficial Guide's crowd calendar. With the exception of a couple of EMH days. They typically call a park with EMH a "worst" park, but since it's February and crowds are light anyway, I am going to MK's EMH day. Plus, with two young kids that wake up at dawn, we are always there for rope drop, so it doesn't seem to matter which park we go to, it's not too crowded until lunchtime, which is when we leave.

We have a little one too so we are also there at rope drop and back at the hotel by noon for a nap. This past Feb I just tried to avoid the parks with the Early Magic Hours. I didn't really pay much mind to the evening one's. It worked out pretty well. Of course, Feb isn't super busy but I think this strategy helped mostly for the days we spent at MK, which is usually the most crowded park anyway.

I think that I will try to stay away from the EMH parks. When we go, we will have a 3 and a 6 year old but they are late risers. To me, it will be more important to find a park that is the least busy every day. That is why I'm so impatient waiting for the EMH days to come out. When I have that, I can plan for which park which day and thus decide on my ADR's. This will be our first trip during this time of the year and I can't wait!

Anyone having problems getting on the Feb 2008 calendar page on the Disney site today?? I can't seem to get anything but a blank page. I"m hoping this is a sign!

Edited to re-phrase.... The entire page is not blank. It still has the headers and the ad for the P&PP, but the area where the calendar should go is blank. It is not blank if I go to say, Aug 2007. Only Feb 2008. CROSS YOUR FINGERS!!!!

UPDATE! Ok, so I got through on the calendar. It still says hours unavailable. Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

I, too, stayed up until midnight - no luck. Woke up this morning - no luck. Left to run an errand, came back - still no luck. I make my adr's on the 6th and I NEED to know those hours so that I can make up my mind on where we will be on which days!!!! They also need to hurry with next year's rates! I'm so anxious and excited I could burst!

I just called again!! NO luck! Said I want to make my ADR's on Aug. 6 also. CM said they MAY be out by then!! We will be there Feb 2-8 at Pop also. What to do???

Edited to add: they must be working on it right now, you can't even see parade times for tomorrow! The individual day details are unavailable for everyday!

I just read on Mousesavers that ticket prices will be out on August 8th!!!
I am guessing that is when package vacationers can book?????
I printed out all the calendars.... so far.... and while kids are schoolin' I'll be plannin'!! It will be a good day for me and my kids!!!

This is killing me!

I was able to see single day details for a couple of days and the rest are still no go. Animal Kingdom is still unavailable. How long does it take to type in some hours?! I'll do it, if they need some help!

I got a pin code for dates through December! Now I am desperately trying to convince my family to go sooner!!!!! One of the dates that had availability is next month! I am officially insane to try this!!!
