Since I'm new to Disney travel, I'm just wondering what I should be doing now? The package is booked (with Visa discount), the plane tickets purchased, dinner reservations have been made. So what is left? Do we just sort of wait around until it's time to go, or are there other things we haven't thought of? We're traveling with three little kids, ages 6, 5 and almost 2, so I want to be well-prepared!
Yikes.. I guess I get the bad mommy award my kids are missing 6 days of school!![]()
Are you making an itinerary??? I do a basic outline of where we will go each morning and afternoon and evenings if we are going out. Just a guide to go buy and I add what things we shouldn't miss- stuff like that. I also make my mousekeeping envelopes out before we go as well, it saves time and you can just leave a leave an envelope when you go out to the parks every day.
BTW 42 DAYS FOR ME!!!!
Hey Wendypooh and all-
I have to still call Disney about the slipper desserts for our CRT lunch, but everything else is done. Everything is paid except the Richard Petty tickets which will be paid on Friday!
I am still saving for meals/souvies but will be until we leave-taking $75 per paycheck-of which there are only about 3 left till we go. I get paid our first full day there but that will be for when we get home-but at least we will have cushion if we go over a little-but I do the envelope method for vacations... I make envelopes for each day and since we have most days planned meal-wise, I know how much to put in it for that day-if we have leftover, I will put it in the next days envelope. If we go over(we always have a little in our pockets too)it will come out of another day. We usually break even after all is said and done. We usually have it planned to a tee and it works out okay. This time I have saved a little more for wiggle room!
We usually bank on an avg of $100 per day-which we are doing-but we have 3 meals paid for already, so that is the wiggle room. We are not big souvenir people unless we see something we'd like to have at home-and usually buy on the last day or so. Thinking time. I don't like buying t-shirts-esp ones that are more than $10!! I bought all our Disney t-shirts to match for under $5 each. I stamped "Celebrate Life" on the back of them. I don't mind the fitted kind (I got a pink DL one when we were there) but regret buying my kids $24 HSM tees from DL when I saw similar ones for a lot less at Walmart and JCPenney's. Well, they DO love them!
Anyway- I cannot wait to pack my self!!!![]()

How do you all know how many days until your trip? I only know what my ticker tells me, and that's calculated in weeks, not days. I guess I could get out a calendar and count the days, but I'm too lazy for that!![]()

Does your $100 per day include meals? We decided to do the Disney Dining plan. Theoretically that should cover all of our meals. I'm trying to figure out how much spending money we'll need each day. I'm sure we'll need some for snacks and stuff, but I'm not sure what else we'll spend our money on. I'm sure there will be plenty of options! However, I don't want to go overboard. I like your idea of having each day's money in an envelope. I'm just not sure how much to put in our envelopes!
