February 19, 2011 Magic Western - Presidents of the Caribbean!

Hi All,

I'm finally getting time to book some excursions and am trying to figure out what to do on Grand Cayman. Key West was easy b/c I lived there for a short time. We've been to Coz a couple times, so we have some thoughts there, but I'm not sure about GC.

The plan right now is:

Key West, trolley tour for transportation, butterfly place, with some side stops to some old haunts. (buying tickets on line to save $)

Cozumel, rent a car and tour the ruins on the island, then hit Chankanaab or Paradise Beach for some water fun.

Any thoughts people have about Grand Cayman would be awesome.

I think the 2 main excursions for Grand Cayman are Stingray City and Boatswains Marine Park. There are some excursions that have multiple stops if you would prefer that or just hang out at a beach.

I feel we HAVE to omit those who have not provided room #'s.....

How many have not confirmed their room #'s? What about those folks?

Please post info soonest.....Love2 and I are eager for some closure

anyhow, also, think about how we will split the list...right now it looks like we're splitting............unless the total amount of participants falls way down

anyhow, give thought as to how to split list.....divide by floors or some random choice?

Wow...I just looked at the calendar and realized how very close Christmas is, and just how many things I need to do before it actually gets here! February can't get here soon enough! My daughter's birthday is December 20th, so we are having her party this weekend. Usually she is a princess kind of girl, but she decided months ago that she is having a Pirates of the Caribbean party! So, pirates 7 days before Christmas.

Anyhow, I think that we are going to do the dolphin encounter in Cozumel, Boatswain in Grand Cayman, and Key West and Castaway Cay on our own. I want to have some great things planned, but not so much so that we can't enjoy relaxing. I also have a Palo and spa reservation on sea days, so I hope the kids enjoy the clubs at least enough for my husband and I to do those things.

As far as the FE, we definitely want to participate and I saw that our info is correct on the list.

Hope everyone is having a fun holiday season, and if it gets too hectic, just think of where we will be in only 2 months!!!

Sorry I am in Holiday mode!!!!! I was ahead of the game but the 25th is creeping up on me!!! I will update the couple of changes and send out the official FE list----I'm in charge of splitting too?? What was the final decision on that??? Someone can take over that job if they wish!!!!

after the list is corrected...simply split the list in half (unless the final tally is at 23 or 24...the number where splitting discussions began) by leaving a couple of line spaces between names.....designate the top list the A list and the bottom half the B list...DON'T SPLIT FAMILIES!!!!


people on the A list buy for other A list cruisers and people on B list....well, you get the idea

only 7 days till Christmas and not that many more till our cruise!!!!!!!!!!!

We were planning on staying away from the shuttle launch - too crowded and lots of waiting from what I understand (friend who used to live in Melbourne.) My family is not the best at waiting and likes wide open spaces. A vacation week cruise should be interesting...

Thanks for giving me the heads up about the launch postponement though!

All the room types are still available, and they only charge an additional $20 for the parking while you cruise. You helped us save at least $70 for the one night! Thank you, thank you!!

wcw57...Our daughter's birthday party went really well. Even the adults had a great time, so maybe your daughter should reconsider the pirates theme for her next year's birthday! I don't think you are ever too old to be a pirate! The older ones definitely have more fun!!
