February 19, 2011 Magic Western - Presidents of the Caribbean!

next year at this time instead of looking out my window and seeing 12 inches of snow still left on my lawn I will be sitting on my verandah sipping some type of tropical drink and looking out at the sea!!!
I also think my sis and family who live on LI will be joining us as well so keep adding to the list of NYers and LIers!!! I will add them to my list when it is def. for the FE exchange which I still really want to do!!! (should I admit I am so crazy that I already picked up some little gifts I found here and there? :goodvibes) So here's to the countdown for less than a year to fellow "Presidents of the Caribbean"!!! Let's hear from the rest of you out there!!!

I can't believe it's still a year away:confused:
We got together with our friends that we will be sailing with twice this week and the fact that it's a year away dominated the conversation both nights.
But you hit the nail on the head, next year at this time we'll all be alittle more relaxed. And it will be here before we know it. I can't believe we booked it 6 months ago already.

Happy I was able to attach the ticker! Forgot to mention that we are on Deck 6 - midship - any feedback?

the new cruise dvd is MUCH better than last year's...got it a few days ago and I'm browsing thru it slowly.....MUCH BETTER....even info on DREAM

Denise: where on LI are your friends/maybe cruisers?

I, too, look for Disney stuff for FE. I saw some CUTE little figurines at dollar store but didn't get 'em 'cause who knows how many we'll need.....

lousy weather all week this week. makes a cruise seem so much more appealing!

any other first-time cruisers here? I think its us and one other group.

Any other DCL virgins?

be well

Hello all! We made it to CA and back in 1 piece! We ended up changing our flight to Friday morning just so we wouldn't have to worry about the weather or be stuck all day in an airport with 5 kids under the age of 10:scared1:
We had great weather did lots of sightseeing...whale watching, San Diego Zoo, Legoland, and of course Disneyland! We had beautiful weather all week, and it was a real bummer to come home and see snow on the ground:sad2:
First of all, welcome Maronvin! More NY'ers!!:cool1:
Looking forward to our cruise...less than 1 year to go:thumbsup2

Oooh I forgot to mention I was so excited to pick up pirate eye patches for my kids at Legoland to wear during the pirate party on the cruise.:cool1:

We are also DCL virgins...it will be our kid's first cruise, but the 3rd cruise for DH & I:lovestruc

glad u had a nice time, Kris.....can u post photos here?

my DGD swears she doesn't want to participate in pirate party...she'll go, but she won't be a pirate..........

and she's changed her mind about karaoke night....we'll see about next month, but for now, she's not singing!

we gave her 361 pennies in a bag today....each day she moves one into her cruise bank....she'll visualize how many 361 days are (time is a hard concept) AND be able to countdown to the cruise......

I don't know how to post pics here:confused3 otherwise I totally would...I can barely get my signature to show up!:rotfl2:
At Disneyland I was excited to finally be able to ride Toy story mania, that was a lot of fun. Disneyland had a different feel to it vs. WDW, I enjoyed it, but nothing, to me, is the same as WDW. However, we did walk past GCV and it looks amazing, talk about rooms overlooking the theme park! I would love to stay there someday!

That is a great idea with the pennies..361 pennies doesn't sound like that far away!

HEY NYers!!!!!!!!!

here's an idea my tiny little brain just came up with....

jetblue offers group rates for groups of 8 or more.....IF we could agree to a travel time (preferably after school on FRI the 18th) we could MAYBE get a good rate......:cool1:

or, for those Long Islanders, maybe group rates on Southwest out of Macarthur? I haven't looked into it yet but MAYBEEEEEEEEE:confused3

anyone else interested?

JUST CHECKED!

10 or more people on Southwest....we're 5 (at least) in our group.....don't know if there would be savings on prime-time travel or not, but worth looking into....:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I think we are going to try to fly out Thursday the 17th after school. With the weather problems we had a few weeks ago trying to fly out to CA, I don't think my heart could handle the stress of bad weather and trying to get to FL without missing the boat! Plus we want to do a day in the park beforehand.

So next

My cat decided to walk across my keyboard and submit somehow!!!!!!--- I was trying to say that next year at this time we will all still be enjoying our cruise--- the last hours of it- but at least we will be warm! (although reading these boards- I have to admit I am getting nervous that Feb. might not be that warm for us)--- we got 23 inches of snow today---- I am ready for spring and more than ready to cruise!!!!

those were both airlines we were tossing - same ideas either JetBlue Fri. after school or Southwest out of MacArthur would be fine - we are traveling with another family of 4 so we would be a total of 8 travelers - keep us posted

trying to get more info via telephone right now....wait time is between 15 and 23 mins.....

nobody is traveling? who is calling, then?!

anyhow, when/if I get more info i'll post and maybe pm........

sooooooo....
just got off the phone with Southwest;)

basically its a 10% discount unless its a super online deal....then no discount

also, updates to schedule in March will post thru end on Oct.

Next update is expected in April or May so keep an eye out.....

WOW!

we are one sad bunch of sailors....absolutely no team spirit...where are the posts?:rotfl2:

Anyhow, the weather is changing....as the summer approaches there will be less time on the boards.....then comes back to school, holidays and then...POOF! we're on our way.

So, I think we need to be more organized so that, when the REAL distractions kick in (close to sail time) we are set to go....

our TO DO LIST (as I see it) so far:

*work on graphics (or ignore)
*organize FE participants....start and keep a list....makes it easier to add last-minute details like room #'s.......also, need to set cut-off date

what else?

hope youse guys are well.............:yay:
