Sorry the updated lists are coming asap!!!! Trying to squeeze in every last min of summer w/ the family and get ready for school!!!!!
I will update the kids FE w/ rms and make an Adult one in case anyone wants to do it- but I need more feedback for it!!!!

Started packing some summer clothes away-and into a Disney Bag so I have it ready to pack for the cruise!!!!!!

After reading the post about the flights and hotels- I better get my act together and book!!
BTW- the only way to get to the ship from a hotel (non Disney) is to rent a car or hire? There is no Disney shuttle/bus to Port right?

its really hard to get people interested here....even the mindless games I posted garnered luke-warm responses. I have asked about excursions, transport, hotels, etc, with just a smattering or responses, albeit good ones and often very helpful.
Denise, I'm afraid you're strapped with the thankless task of trying to help people who refuse to let you help them....then, inevitably, there will be a mad scramble for your help with the updating of the lists...I strongly suggest you set a cut-off date now and repeat it often to save yourself some headaches...............

I will be updating cruiser list soon.....anyone who did not appear and wants to appear should remind me who they are, please.....

again, we have on child on kids FE---Julianna: age 6 you have that info on list

We will NOT be participating in adult FE



Has anyone made (or bought) their FE yet? We just started working on ours.....It actually looks like it might stay together and not look too horrible...

If you stay at a hotel in the Cape Canaveral area, some have shuttles to the port. Then you would need to find transportation from MCO to the Cape Canaveral hotel.

Denise--you can take the DCL bus from either the disney resorts or the Orlando Airport. You can do it one way or round trip. Just call the cruise line for the current prices.

We are flying into Tampa, so we'll spend Friday night there and rent a car to the port on Saturday. I believe the rental agencies in the Port with shuttles to the ship are Dollar, Budget, and one more. I read them in the DCL Passporter book. When we debark, we'll rent a car again, spend the day at Kennedy Space Center, and drive back to Tampa. We fly home on Sunday. We played around a lot with the flights and prices, and that worked out the best for us.

Do you know there's a shuttle launch that day & the KSC is closed unless you were able to get tix for the launch? Just making sure you knew. This is what we are doing & are hoping to get tix. I was able to find a hotel room for Sat night luckily.

WOW.......
Seems like forever since i have been here.

Been a long 2 weeks.
Having an audit at work soon and i have literally been working 4 am to 10 pm.
Probally have another week or 2 of that and then should be back to normal happen to have several hours off today to recoup.

At least when the audit is passed and everything slows down i will be that much closer to the cruise.

I am 5ft even....so i loose that one.
And obviously we are not the farthest away....
But are we the closest so far??

Not the oldest but may feel the oldest from working so much latley.

CANT WAIT TIL THIS CRUISE OUR WHOLE FAMILY NEEDS IT!!!

My DS (17) was in a moped accident this past weekend....HE IS SOOO BLESSED to not have been hurt more than he was...Cant think of a better place than here to send kudos to the man above for watchin out for my son.
He could really have been hurt very badly and he got out with a bunch of road rash and his muscles hurt really badly i guess from tensing up so hard as he skid down the road. When i go to him his pnats were litterally ripped all the way up the side from bottom to top and his shoe had flown off. SO SCARY!!! SO BLESSED! THanks

No, I actually didn't know that, so thanks for the heads up. I figured it was an opportune time to see it, since we're there anyway. Now I'll have to come up with something else for the day. I'd actually like to avoid the Disney parks, since just part of one day is too much of a tease for me. Also will be crazy busy there that weekend.

I'm now thinking Gatorland Zoo, as we haven't been there in years (I can't seem to tear myself away from Disney when I'm in Orlando). Won't be as crazy as Disney, and something new and different.

I have read in a few posts that some of you mentioned the Passporter cruise booklet. What is this? Do you have to be a castaway cay member to receive it?

The Passporter guide is not from Disney. It's just a guide book written about DCL. You can find it at any bookstore or Amazon.com. I just bought one & it has alot of info in it. There are a few mistakes though too. I don't think I learned anything new that I haven't already learned from here though. It's something for my DH to read though since he knows nothing about DCL.

The shuttle launch has been moved to Sunday now. We have to leave on Sunday, so it looks like we won't be seeing the launch. We decided to just go home after the cruise on Sat so I changed our SWA flight home, which saved us $192! All I have left to book now are excursions. We will have to have our final payment paid in 2 months!!! That makes it sound close!
Anyone planning on booking another cruise onboard or will you book as soon as the itineraries are released?

Nemo: we were leaving Sat anyhow.....would've been cool to see the launch, though.

not planning to rebook....our next major family outing will likely be to WDW...little ZuZu is dying to go and do the rides now that she is an old lady of six (almost)

which brings me to one of my 2 reasons for posting:

1-ZuZu (Julianna to most) has shown interest in making pre-friends with some near-aged kids......people can PM me if there is some email buddy interest

2- since I have begun to accumulate FE gifts::::DENISE has the number of kids changed from 21?

2 1/2-what will be people's avg expenditure per child?....I am not spending a lot (believe me) but have seen posts on main boards and some people spend a FORTUNE ...even for homemade things

OK so booked our flights-- very $$$$$$ and I think we are going to book Hotel near Port and bc all together we are a family of 11- we are renting a van or something large!!!!! - getting a shuttle to port next morning....seems to be the most cost effective...

going to look on ebay or etsy for FE holders- had every intention of making one but I doubt I will have the time.............

you will have pleanty of time to make room # list but I advise: IF you aren't diligent, people won't respond.of course, that will be tough noogies for them, but I'd feel bad for the kids

Hi, my family is booked on the Feb 19th cruise. It is our first one. We booked adjoining rooms 2083 and 2085. I have no idea what a FE is? Let me know. From your list it looks like only the young kids participate.

My kids are Jared (8), Jessica (12) and Amber (15). My husband's name is Tom Nicholson, and I'm Vyann. We live in Eastern Long Island. I just gave up on a low airfare and booked flights yesterday. We are very excited about the trip!!
