how can we join fish extender?

Hello and welcome jaober! :welcome:

I am putting together the Fish extender list--if you know your stateroom number you can post that, along with your first names, if you are comfortable posting those and I will add you to our list. Also if there are any special restrictions for anyone in your family please include those. There is a link in my signature to the list of current participants :)

If you are on Facebook and interested, several of us are in a closed group there as well. Just send me a private message and I will send you the link :goodvibes

13. jaober John, Cathy(DW), Alex-DS(8), Elizabeth-DD(6)

We don't have a room number yet...how do I find you on Facebook?

It is a private resort on Cozumel that several of us have booked. It is not a Disney excursion, you have to book it on your own. They only have 100 spots/day, and it includes beverages and lunch.

Here is a link to their website:

Hope that helps!
have to check it out...we were all signed up for Ocean View explore tour last February, but this sounds better!

Same ages as my kids- Alex 8 and Elizabeth 6!

We are booked for this cruise as well. It will be me, my husband and our daughters who will be 8 and 6 at time of cruise. We did a 3 night in 2010 and cannot wait for this longer cruise!

The following is a letter my wife sent to Delta & Disney regarding our
cruise that we missed last year. Just thought I'd share our vacation nightmare!

Due to a storm in the evening of Friday 2/18/11 which resulted in planes flying into Logan Airport being struck by lightening, the plane which had been assigned to our flight was rerouted to Providence, RI and our flight cancelled. We were not notified of this cancellation when it happened but at 3:30am on our way into Logan Airport as my husband called to check the status of our flight. We were flying from Logan to Orlando with a connection through Cincinnati to a final destination of Port Canaveral, FL to board a Disney Cruise.

A year and a half ago our family lost a very beloved uncle. Prior to Uncle Frank’s passing he told me he had left us an inheritance which he asked a portion of to be used for a wonderful family vacation. It was bittersweet as we planned our dream vacation-a Disney Cruise. For months we plotted, planned and organized for the six of us; my sister, sister-in-law, husband, son (age 7), daughter (age 5) and myself. Christmas morning was filled with more anticipation as the kids received planning DVDs, information about the islands we would visit and various cruise themed items. I spent the final weeks scheduling special events for the family, scouring the internet for tips and ideas for surprises to make this a vacation of a lifetime. Finally, the day had arrived!

Then we learn our flight is cancelled and we have been automatically rebooked onto a flight the following day. This could never work but, I just know Delta can fix it once the counter opens. I immediately tell our plight to the CSR Raychelle who laughed at me and asked, “Don’t you know this is school vacation week? I cant find you anything.” Yes, I know its school vacation week. I am a nurse who works in a special education classroom and my sister is a special education teacher as well. She offered 3 of us a flight to JFK and 3 of us a flight to Newark, the catch was that half of us would not make it to the port in time to get on the ship. This was not a feasible option. After searching her database and those of the airlines Delta has ticketing agreements with she told me to go look elsewhere and hope to get a flight with another airline. Her consolation was that Delta would be willing to pay for those flights.

I ran from counter to counter with my deflated family wearing our homemade tie dye Mickey shirts in tow, to no avail. Southwest, Jet Blue, US Air, Continental, American…everyone pointed me back to Delta. When I returned to the Delta counter at 8:20am and was able to speak to a supervisor (Ryan Foley) he too was unable to help. The last plane that he would have been able to get us on, had he known sooner of our fiasco, was out on the tarmac getting ready to take off! With our dream vacation taking off before our eyes Ryan offered another suggestion. He booked us into Atlanta with a flight the next morning into Key West and we could meet the ship there at the first port. Disappointed but realizing this was our only option, we booked those flights our last step was to inform Disney Cruise Lines of our change in arrival and settle in for our flight to Atlanta at 2:45pm. When Disney Cruise Lines opened at 9:00am we quickly learned our new plan was not a feasible option either as there is a maritime law prohibiting boarding and disembarking a ship in different U.S. cities unless the cruise ship is on a repositioning itinerary which ours was not. Again, we were scrambling from counter to counter, CSR to CSR with Ryan Foley along for the ride trying desperately to find a way to get to Florida in time. Disney Cruise Lines offered to hold the ship, offered to send us transportation to get us to the port, offered everything short of letting us on the boat in Key West!

Our dream vacation vanished before our eyes because our plane was unable to be safely brought into Logan and we were not notified in a timely manner enabling us to get another flight booked. We could have gotten to another airport or even driven to Florida had we known. So here the six of us are, sitting at Logan Airport in our sad Mickey t-shirts as deflated as possible. Thousands of dollars gone, plans cancelled, surprises left forever in limbo, pirate costumes unpacked in the bags, dreams of sand and sun filled with laughter and memories of Uncle Frank who was sending us on this adventure. How do you tell a 7 and 5 year old they wont be going on the big Mickey boat we have been planning months for? For that matter, how do four adults turn around and go home to more snow and cold?

I could not do it. I could not, would not go home for the week. So I got on the phone with Walt Disney World and booked a trip for our family. I was shocked, you know this is vacation week, right? They were able to find 2 rooms for us and we booked it-right there in Logan Airport at 1pm for that very night. Off I go again to find Ryan Foley and make sure we are still on that plane to Atlanta and add in the connection to Orlando. Mr. Ryan Foley came to our rescue yet again and got us out of Logan-a mere 10+ hours after we had arrived. We had a nice vacation, though not at all the one we had planned.

Mr. Anderson, I know you are a very busy man. You oversee company with a fleet of 700 aircraft that run almost 6000 daily flights, 80,000 employees and more than 160 million customers last year alone. I represent but 6 of those millions and would like to know how you can help us.

Thank you so much for your time and attention to this matter.
