I was able to get everything I wanted except a cabana. I'll keep checking for that. We have a ressie at Palo for dinner on the 4th day, Palo Brunch on the 3rd day. The spa and the dolphin discovery in Grand Cayman. We also got out arrival time for 11:00. There seems to be a lot of Palo ressies available. I changed my a couple of times yesterday. So hopefully everyone wil get one that wants one.

Just jumping in here....

So, not that I am counting or anything... But 89 Days until we sail away! So
excited to be joining everyone!

DH, myself, DS (5), DD (5) are looking forward to what we hope will be lots of warmth and sunshine as we leave the snow and frosty temps of Upsate NY behind for 10 days!

I am right there with you Kelly, counting down the days! I think it might be 88 days though, at least according to the DCL website (I booked excursions yesterday and that is what the website told me anyway!)--so we are 1 day closer than you think :rotfl:

:welcome: to the meet thread! We also have a Facebook group, so if you are interested drop me a PM and I will forward you the link. I think there are several people on this thread who have kids the same age as yours :thumbsup2

Hi Kelly,
My sons are close in age to your two- Justin will be 3 in Jan and Brayden will be 5 in May. Where in New York are you? We are on Long Island but my husband's family is in Cicero (near Syracuse) and we lived in Tully for a year. We are going up there tomorrow night for Thanksgiving. Not looking forward to the 6 hour ride!

So exciting that you were able to book already! I was not so secretly hoping for a Cabana too! I knew it would be next to impossible since we can't book until Dec. 5th however... : (

Thanks, Maureen!

I think you ate right, only 88 days. I like your answer even better!

I would love to be part of the Facebook page. I will try to om you.

Jessica, we actually live in Canastota, NY. I teach in Syracuse, and my brother and 2 of my best friends live in Cicero. I am there at least a few times a week. As a matter of fact, we will most likely leave our car at my brother's house when we are on the cruise, as Cicero is so close to the airport.

Safe travels to you this weekend!

:welcome: Glad to have you join us on the thread! Sounds like you are very experienced Disney Cruisers--have you done this particular itinerary before?

I have an 11 year old son as well--he is so excited for the Edge, and of course the ping pong tables :rotfl2: Has Matt tried out the Edge yet? Hopefully we can introduce them at the Meetup on embarkation day. Once you've posted a few more times you can send me a Private Message if you'd like to be included in our Facebook group as well.

Thanks msnoble, yes we have done this itinerary 3 times in the past. One of them we went to Costa Maya,Mexico rather than Cozumel due to the devastation they suffered from the hurricane.Cozumel is much nicer imo.

Matt has done the clubscene over the years.LOL!Saying that makes me feel old.He is really looking forward to this cruise, and meeting new friends. He's a Hockey player so I think it'll be a nice change to step onto some sand in Feb rather than the Ice.We last cruised in 09',and did the Eastern/Western back to back aboard the Magic. Two weeks, and we still didn't want to leave.:sad2:

We are thinking of going to Mr Sanchos for thier all inclusive.Seems to have good reviews, and the price is fair.We decided not to book a ton of excursions through disney this time, and just roll with it.Although I did book parasailing at castaway cay again for me,and the boys.Palos for dinner on day 3,and Palo brunch on day 6.
We are flying in on the 15th,and staying at Coronado Springs for 3 days of the parks, figured if we need to part with a kidney to afford the airfare we may as well make it worth it.

We would love to have your son meet Matt on embarktion day,The sooner the kids make friends aboard the ship, the easier it is for them to go to the clubs or just have a great time in general.

Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving

Counting down the days until I can check in (12/5)...Any tips for a first timer? I know that my chances of getting a cabana now are slim. I'm hoping to get Palo for dinner on night 3, and then brunch or high tea.

FREEZIN, my DD6 is a Mini Mites and her program runs from September - March. I think I will be happier than her to see sand vs. ice!

I'm with you Michele! I am hoping for a dinner or a brunch. I like the idea of brunch but DH wants to go out to dinner. I don't know how I will make it to midnight on Sunday!!

The cabanas are all gone as of now, though if your heart is really set on one, keep checking back. As of this moment, there are spots open (for 2) on Day 3 for Palo dinner at 7:00, 8:00, 8:30; brunch at 10:30, 11:00, 11:30; and spots for Tea (only offered at 3 PM). Again, you can always grab a reservation now, and keep checking back, or change it once you're onboard if you aren't thrilled with the time you get. good luck! :goodvibes

Take a nap during the day ;) Seriously though, once you pick your excursions and Palo you might as well go back to bed. The slots don't open for online check in til much later (12 Midnight Pacific) and when we checked in the servers were down until like Noon the following day before we could do our checkin. :confused3

Hi micheleq,Mite hockey is the best.No pressure, just fun. Those are the best years right there.
When I booked Palos a couple of weeks ago,I noticed there was only 1 cabana availble, and that was at serenity bay.

As far as Palos,if you aren't able to get a ressie on line, board the ship as early as possible, and go to Rockin bar D to check availability.I have gotten lucky several times over the years by going that route.I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.People do cancel especially on the days we're in ports.

Pixie dust that they still have those times available when we can book them!

Wow, can't believe there isn't a thread for this cruise yet!

Maybe we'll have the boat to ourselves! :rotfl: Anyway we'll be me (the mom), DD13, and DS11. We also have some friends tagging along (mom, her DD13 and her DD10). This will be our 3rd Disney cruise, but first time on the Magic.

Already dreaming of Castaway Cay :cloud9:--please don't be shy, join the thread if you're booked for this cruise!

Thanks for the scoop everyone!

Jess, I think I will be full of nervous energy on Sunday -- my grandmother flies in for a week long visit that afternoon, plus I'm hosting my book club holiday party that evening. I'll have to have a coffee or Diet Coke! Thank goodness in my daughter's school district we have "late start Mondays" where the teachers have a meeting/prep time and we go in at 9:10 am on most Mondays :thumbsup2

Freezin, she does love the Mini Mites. My DH is a lifelong hockey player (from Mass., played at Boston College High, then in college and still today) so my girls have been skating since age 2.

Maureen, I hope you aren't getting pummeled with rain like we are. Three days straight of pouring rain here. Although I can't complain because South Central Michigan (I'm guessing that's A2 right Maureen?) is supposed to get snow tomorrow. Castaway Cay can't come soon enough!

Yeah, here in SE Michigan we had awful rain yesterday and the snow and sleet have started this evening :( The kids are hoping for a snow day tomorrow, but I doubt there will be that much--just enough to make my commute miserable. Oh well, just makes the cruise that much more appealing!
