The plan was to leave Wednesday after work, but if we do get 24 inches of snow that day we might neee sled dogs, so now we are not sure.
We will be thinking about you Sue, which airport do you leave from?

We are scheduled on Southwest flight #455 out of Manchester, NH. It is scheduled to leave at 11:15, and arrive in Orlando at 2:25.

Is there any way you can leave today or earlier than late tomorrow? What time do you need to get to the train?

We thought about leaving today, but by the time we could leave we are supposed to have very heavy snow, we probably will leave early tomorrow and just drive very slowly, they are now predicting 2 to 3 feet of snow where we are, now I am ready to cry.
We have to be in Virginia to catch the train by 2:00 pm on Thursday so we do have time. Ijust want to be relaxed getting there.

Well they allready cancelled school for my kids tomorrow, they are going to get a nice long vacation.

For Lisa, Vivian glad you got through the tornadoes ok. I grew up in the Midwest and remember how devastating and frightening they can be.

For Christinou and Sue even more :tinker: hoping you both get out ok. I think flying out of MHT should be better than MA or CT tomorrow. Good idea on staying near the airport and the non-stop flight.

We don't leave until Friday evening (from Bradley) so I'm not worried about us.
Leaving Friday was my hedge against snow.

Best wishes to all.

I think we will be heading out around 6:00 to the hotel. We are almost ready, and just have a few things to do before we leave. Hopefully, after we leave, my next post will be a trip report!

Here's hoping we ALL make it there safely for Saturday and we have a terrific time on this long anticipated cruise!!

What flight are you taking out of Bradley? We are also flying out of Bradley on Southwest flight 504 to Orlando Friday at 6:55 PM.

Well everyone . . . I did my shopping. There are hardly any summer clothes in the stores -- make that almost nonexistent. I made do. What I have is what I have . . . ready or not, I'm going on vacation.

It was downright hot here today -- 71 degrees currently with clear blue skies. Tonight will be a different story.

Good luck to all of you that will be treading through the snow to get to your departure locations tonight and in the morning. Do any of you have a laptop that you're bringing to post along the way?

I don't know what I'm going to do when you are all in transit and I'm almost alone here guarding our thread! My dh asked me if I was taking the laptop on the ship so I can chat with all of you. I'll have to make him regret those words . . . lol!

Tomorrow is lunch in Baton Rouge with Ed's son for his son's birthday followed by work in the afternoon (college softball). Thursday is final packing day with coverage of high school basketball playoffs. Friday is my hair, mani and pedi appointments. We'll be leaving out of New Orleans around 7 PM.

I'll be thinking about you Christine and Sue!

Lisa

Have a great flight, how is the weather looking for you?

Eh, the weather here is not great, but not terrible yet either. The only problem is that a couple of inches of snow in DC is equivalent to the feet you'll be getting in NY. So I'm a little nervous that we'll be really delayed or something tomorrow morning. We're planning to hit Sea World tomorrow afternoon so I hope we aren't too delayed, but at least we have Thursday and Friday!

Good luck everyone!! See you Saturday!

We absolutely will all meet on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. by the Mickey pool, the first round of ice cream is on me:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Good luck to everyone on your travel, is anyone travelling on Saturday?
I really will be thinking about you.

Sue has made it to her hotel. I'll be checking on her tomorrow morning and post an update on her travels.

I just watched the New Orleans evening news. OMG . . . I cannot believe the devastation in the city! Even Courtney said to me, "how can those people have any hope left?". I am speechless and brokenhearted for those residents. To realize that could be me in their shoes -- twice -- Katrina (which turned just a tad more easterly than what was expected missing me head on and hitting them straight on) and this tornado (which moved from southwest to northeast -- I'm southwest of New Orleans).

I wish us all safety in the next few days as we travel!

Lisa and Vivian, so glad you're okay!
:( Saw the scenes on the news and was so worried. Unbelievable the devastation in New Orleans. How they find the will to go on I'll never know.

To all of those traveling from the snowy north, safe travels to you too!

SO glad to hear Sue made it to her hotel okay.
And to those in the DC area, I feel your pain. Lived there several years and know the calamity a few flakes of snow can cause. Wonder how this affects Amtrak.

Just flew in from California, changed planes in Las Vegas and it was unbelievable the amount of weather related flight delays. Luckily, we were flying directly to Raleigh so our flight was one of the only ones not affected. One thing's for sure...the slot machines at the Vegas airport won't be lonely tonight! ;)

Well I'm home now and close to my computer so not to worry Lisa. I'll be here to keep you company until our flight out Friday...four more days!

MA DVCer: Yep that's our flight too! We usually fly out of PVD since we're on that side of CT, but when SWA came out with the flights this was the one with room for the 3 of us!

My nightmare is that I drive to PVD on auto pilot. Don and Dan have both been warned to make sure I head to Hartford. Dan is our thin 18 year old, will probably be wearing an Element baseball cap and I'll have at least a WDW tote bag.

This is so bad, everyone here is hoping for a snow day, and I'm going to finish the packing.

We are out of here! Hopefully we will see you all on Saturday!
Have a safe trip everyone.
3:00 by the Mickey pool!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

I have thought about so many of you all day long! I haven't been able to get online for 2 days until now. Today we flew standyby San Diego to Dulles (DC) to Orlando. We were the last flight to make it out of Dulles, the next 2 cancelled and tomorrow morning is cancelled too. My son's suitcase is still in DC it is full of all of his allergy meds and foods. I hope a flight comes! I am so concerned about all of you!!

I am so glad at least you made it, but hope you get that suitcase soon, the weather is pretty nasty here this morning, we will just have to take out time, I just can't wait to see all of you at the Mickey pool.

This post is for Sue who usually is the first to post each morning. I just checked the Southwest Airlines website and it shows her flight as on time - not delayed or cancelled.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for her!! She leaves at 11:15.

I'll post to let you know when she calls me this morning.

Oh no, they must be feeling so awful right now, I also saw that that the DC airport are closed, don't we have someone leaving from Washington today.

:( Fingers crossed they're able to put Sue's family on another flight soon!

6powaydisneyfans, glad you made it out in time but so sorry about your son's allergy meds. Is there any way his dr could call in a prescription down there?

christinou, are you gonna be able to drive down to meet the Auto Train?

This winter storm is UNBELEIVABLE!!! :scared:
