We really want to go to Maho Beach and see the planes land. Doesn't look like and Disney excursions go there. We are thinking about booking with Bernards tours. They seem to be highly rated everywhere I look. Has anybody used them before?

Last time I was there we walked from the ship to the city center which was really only like 10-15 min walk and then took a taxi there to where we rented jet skis. I think the taxi ride there was only $5 a person

Where is Maho Beach?

It's in st Maarten. The beach is at the very end of he airport and the jets come in very low. Search Maho Beach in google image and there is lots of photos.

I can't remember who had the FE exchange list going but can you please remove us from it...we just switched to the Mexican Riviera 2/26 cruise since there is a kids free FKMR code and we live 30 min from LA.....hope everyone has a great trip

We had a magnet exchange on our last cruise. Some people made them and some people bought them.

We've done the planes at Maho before...there used to be this incredible beach bar there. It got shut down and I think re-opened, but it's rumored it's a shadow of its former self. They had a surfboard up with the times the big jets were due to land...couple KLMs. The big boys seemed to come in the early afternoon. We rented a car the last time and will do it again as we only wanted to spend a bit of time in Maho (husband has private pilot's license and is a major plane watcher). One thing you have to watch for is there is a draw bridge between Maho and the port that closes sometime around 3 or 4 pm each day...clogging up traffic so badly you could easily miss the ship. Traffic was pretty bad up by Marigot, so it's one of those things you leave p-l-e-n-t-y of buffer room for. We cruised around the island in the morning, went to the beach whose name I forgot (there were some nude bathers but nothing to write home about), got to Maho at lunch time, ate at the Sunset Beach bar and watched the planes for a while, then returned the car by 3 and walked around Philipsburg before catching a ride from the rental car place back to the port. It was a great day, and the rental car was under $80and we bought the whole enchilada insurance policy so we could have driven the car into the ocean and still been covered.

We will be on this cruise too. We are taking our first Disney cruise in a couple weeks during Halloween on the Wonder to Mexico, and this will be our second. On the other cruise, we found that the DIS Board discussion group had set up a googledoc that was a shared spreadsheet and we just filled ourselves in on that one to participate in the Fish Extender. Has this forum set up a similar FE googledoc?

Looking forward to meeting other Disney-ites soon. We are also DVC and D23. We live in Orlando.

Just found out that my step brother is coming with us too! Super excited! He just enlisted into the Army and leaves for bootcamp right after the cruise. What a perfect way to honor him before he leaves!!

I don't think we are going to do any Disney excursions but planning beach days on our own on each day. We are going to try to get a cabana on castaway cay.

I'm considering the mountain bike one in St. Maarten, just me and the boys. But it's around $60 or $70 per person.

We are planning on doing the double turtle cove sail & snorkel on St Thomas, and possibly Bernards Tours (Maho Beach) on St Maarten.

We can't decide if we want to do double turtle or Captain Nautica's Snorkeling Expedition. But we are definitely going to do Bernard's tours.

I only see one tour on his website, $40 for several hours, city , shops, and beach. Is that what you mean?

I would enjoy Maho beach.....the plane the plane.
