February 11, 2006 Roll Call

Hi everyone, it was great to chat with you all on Friday. I am looking forward to our next chat. Thanks again to detroit dad for being our facilitator.

Hi kelsey, my DS (dear or disney son) will be 12 in March. DD means daughter and DH means husband. Hope that helps. It takes some time to get used to all the abbreviations on this board.

Geez, so bummed that I missed the chat. Would love to chat, hope we do it again. Is it too much to ask that we chat at 9pm PST? :hyper: (just kidding).

I have put off all planning for the last 2 months. I need to get in gear, but I've got such a busy schedule the next couple of weeks. I can't even remember if I have all our excursions booked yet!

Do you think we will get a room assignment next week? I think it ususally around the 30 day mark.

We have ours already! I just read on another forum that the rooms we are in are considered noisy rooms. Noy HAPPY about that. Does anyone know if you can change them once they are assigned or do you have to stay with them? (2094-2096) They are adjoining rooms, which we had asked for however would be willing to not have adjoining if they are not noisy,

We got our room assignment when we booked last May. RAC, do have the reservation where you're guaranteed a certain level room, but they'll bump you up if they have space? Dory, I'd call DCL and ask if you can move now. We looked into moving to the other side of the ship back in Nov. and they would have switched us, but we decided to stay where we were.

We booked 12 GTY and I just called and checked, not yet..... :confused3
Maybe this week...
Dory, did you book GTY?

Well I just got off the phone with DCL and was told that there were no better rooms on deck two available. I could however go from a category 9 which we are in to a category 7 for another $2200.00 for both rooms. Needless to say I guess we will have to put up with a little bit of noise! :worried:

We were in room 2646 which is also classified as a noisy room on our cruise last summer yet it wasn't that noisy at all. On the mornings we came into port there was a little noise when we docked, but other than that it was very quiet. Hopefully your rooms will be that way as well. We really liked deck 2 and have booked it again this time.

well thats good to hear, I am sure that we will be so tired at the end of the day that a little noise won't keep everyone up. I can't believe its almost here.

Dory, maybe pick up an inexpensive white noise machine or one that plays southing sounds (hmmmmm, like the ocean) so maybe you won't hear the additional noise (if there are any). You can get them in many places for very little $. :cool1:

Hello everyone-

Can you believe almost 30 days til our cruise?? Unbelievable (especially since we booked in Oct 2004!)

I'd like to schedule another chat for this Thursday Jan 12th @ 9pm EST.

Hopefully more folks can make it that missed the first one. I will post a separate thread regarding Chat #2. Please respond there if you can attend.

Thanks!

I'll definitely try and be there. I do have question, does anyone know what time you need to try and get to the port? We have to return a rental car and are trying to figure out how early to head that way. I still have done almost no planning or shopping. ACK! :scared1:

I believe you can get to the port as early as 10am but I don't know for sure. Can anyone confirm?

 I wish I could, but we have to go to a cub scout den meeting that night at 6:30... Have fun. Is there anyway to record the whole chat and have it as a file somewhere so we can read it later?

I'll certainly try to make the chat! The EST thing is killin' me tho! 6:00 is "getting-home-from-work-running-around-like-a-mad-woman-to-make-dinner-is-your-homework-done?-have-you-practiced-piano?-prove-it" time! :rotfl2: I'm thinkin' take out on Thursday maybe........ :scratchin :teeth:

jdiane I still have done almost no planning or shopping. ACK! :scared1:[/QUOTE said:
I'm not far ahead of ya J! So far I've purchased travel size contact lens solution for me and shaving cream for hubby! :rotfl: I'm trying to shed a few pounds before I even begin to THINK of investigating how the 'ol bathing suit fits! I swear! At forty, your metabolism comes to a screeching halt and everything turns to cheese!!! IT AIN'T EASY BEING CHEESY!!! :rotfl2:

Sorry - Can't make Thursday's chat - Monday and Thursday are Hockey nights and won't be home until after 12:00 EST. Hopefully I can make the next one. Have my unpacked suitcases just waiting to be filled!
