February 10th 2013 ~ 4 Night Dreamy Dream Cruise!

What happens if the boat isn't full? Do they offer it at discounted prices to Florida residents?

We are adding 4 days on post cruise at POR also:cool1:

We will be at POR 3 days post cruise.

What ages are your travel companions? Our have a girl 7, boy 5 and boy 3.

Since you are a pro at this now... :) we are first timers on the boat side of things. I was wondering what transportation you are using from port to Resort?

This is our first cruise. We are leaning towards car rental from airport, staying at a hotel overnight leaving the car there while on cruise, and then picking it back up to drive to POR... But we are not sure if we want to skip all that and do DiS magical express transport from airport to cruise, then have our return trip be to POR then use complementary resort transportation back to airport.

Any suggestions as to what you think is better?

If you do a car rental the day before you might want to check into doing a one-way rental. That way you can turn the car in before you leave for the ship and not have to pay for it while it is sitting in the hotel's parking lot. You can then get another one way rental to get back to Orlando. I am not sure how this would price out, but I have read of other people doing this. We have most of the major car rental companies in Cape Canaveral and they have shuttles. The hotels also have shuttles to the Port, but I have read that some of them charge for the trip.

To be honest I haven't a clue.:goodvibes The east coast cruise we did was resort first and cruise later. We will probs rent a car and stay overnight at port before the cruise leaving our car parked on a cruise and snooze pkg. Then drive to Por. Por is one of our fav resorts:goodvibes. We are there from the 14th to the 18th. On this trip it is just me and ds10. Dh might try and come if he can squeeze it in. Ds18 and dd16 are staying home.:laundy:

So....:rolleyes1 do you think that it is quiet on here because our cruise is pretty empty? Or... do you think our cruise is just anti-social. :confused3
I see so much chatter on other threads. Where is everyone?

Curious also if anyone is headed to Disney after the cruise? We will be adding on three days and we were just curious. (I hear pres. weekend is kinda crazy at the parks, and curious if anything interesting will happen on Valentines Day.)

We will be at AKV the night before the cruise and two nights at A of A afterwards.

I hear that press. week is very busy. The Diamond Horseshoe (I think it is called that) is opened as an overflow restaurant for LTT when we are there. I don't know of anything special happening for Valentine's Day but there could be.

Just wondering if anyone is planning to spend the night before the cruise in the Port area. We have quite a few restaurants on the Port and the Fantasy will be going out around 4:30 or 5:00 on Saturday the 9th. I would be happy to plan a get together if anyone is interested.

We're going! The kids will find out on Christmas morning that we are going on the 2/10 cruise. Their grandparents will be joining us, too.

:cool1:

Heading over now to sign up for the FE.

Hey everybody! Our school and softball schedules have been finalized and we had to move our cruise - instead of cruising on Feb 10, we've bumped back to the 3 nigher on Feb 7 - don't worry, we'll leave some magic for y'all! Happy cruising!

New to board. :wave2: Just booked and it will be our 1st cruise: myself, hubby, son 14, son 12, daughter 8. :yay:

:beach:

I just saw that DCL is offering some awesome rates for Florida Residence.....$115.00 pp a day for a catergory 5A......must book before 12/30/12

We will be staying someplace the night before, because we fly in on the 9th but we will not get into the airport until 6pm.
We have not booked a hotel yet because we are unsure if we are going to use disney transportation from the arport (in which case we will have to stay near airport to catch it the next morning) or if we will be renting a car (more likely.) then stay near the port someplace where they have a (park the car in the parking lot while you cruise type thingy.)

So most likely it won't work out for us, but would have been fun!

How did the announcement go? We were going to break the news Christmas morning, but chickened out. Our kids are 3, 5, and 7 and we figured it was a long time to wait. Plus they got plenty for Christmas and I wanted to spread out the love so to speak. Jan 1st is a special family day for us, it was the day our youngest joined our family. We flew across the ocean with him from South Korea three years ago that day. So we may just make the announcement that we are taking a family trip, on our family day. But we will see if we chicken out then too and keep it a secret longer. They will know before the day of the trip though. My 5 year old needs a little time to know what is going to be happening before we jump on the plane. The other two would totally handle it fine though if we did keep it a secret.

Funny thing is... I have been getting my daughter who is 7 and gifted, kids guides about disney world from the library. She went when she was 4 and always talks about going again. Little does she know we are going! :) and her nice photographic sponge of a brain is going to come in handy since I am sure she will have the guide memoried. :hyper:

It went pretty well. They weren't quite as excited as I expected at the time. I think the trip was momentarily overshadowed by Skylanders and an Easy Bake Oven! :scratchin They are very excited now and are taking turns crossing days off the calendar.
