I am planning a trip during our kids winter break (21-25). Is this going to be an insane time to go or should it be manageable? Also, what is the weather like in the winter?

February crowds aren't bad at all so you should be good to go. The weather can be all over the place. No need to worry about it now...you still have plenty of time to worry about the weather later.

That is acutally a pretty good time of the year to go. The crowds are usually low since Spring Break does not start until March. I went to WDW 2 years ago during that week in Feb and we were able to go to the waterparks and the weather was pretty good.

Now, being from Florida the weather can still be unpredictable so even though it was warm one year the next can be pretty bad :)

I think you should have a good time but make sure to bring a light coat ;)

We usually go in the week following President's Day (family day in here Canada). The crowds are usually moderate and the weather can be anything from 80's to 50's (which is was this year).

Ok I go every other year in Feb for the twirlmania competition is which is held over Presidents Day weekend and the crowds are horrible starting the Thursday before and going through the following week. The crowd levels are at its highest this week compared to Christmas week they consider this week PEAK season in all the disney guide books and prices for hotel rooms are sold at PEAK seaon rates. So I would have to disagree with those who say its low crowd. The wait time for soarin has been over 400 minutes and all the fast passes were gone by 9:30am for most rides during this week. If you call this crowd moderate than I would really hate to see what people consider peak. I have to go for the competition but if I didn't I would NEVER pick this time of year to go. Saturday of President's Day weekend the ropes are up at the TTC for people traveling to MK for the monorail and it has taken people over 40 minutes just waiting in line to get to the monorail and you CAN'T move in the park. Sorry to be a debbie downer but this week is PEAK season. The weather when I was there in 07 was the lowest in years it was 35 degrees. I will say we have had 85 during this time but have also had freezing temps. Just want people to know what to expect during this time.

But that is at Disney. It is different at Universal.

I guess it just depends on the acutal week. My Dad's BD is on the 20th of Feb so I went Wed - Sun to WDW after his BD with DD and I walked onto every ride. This was also during their Princess/Pirate party they had that year and it was still pretty slow.

It was also 90 degrees when we went, our silly rental car's air went out, and we were able to do the waterparks. Now of course becuase of the nice hot weather they had a tornado watch going on one night we were there :)

But your right this year they have those dates as peek season :confused3

2010 Peak Season - Weekday
February 15, 2010-February 18, 2010

February 21, 2010-February 25, 2010

President's Week can be quite busy. The week following President's falls off dramatically until March. The weather can run the gamut. We have been this week many times and love it! This past Feb was cold as HELL...but other than that, no lines, minimal crowds. Lovely.

Are you staying onsite? If so, you won't have any problems. I was at Uni last Presiden't Day weekend and crowds were average (not super busy, but not dead by any means). We really enjoyed our long weekend, but we stayed onsite. If we didn't have the express that comes with staying onsite, we may not have felt that way for some of the waits would have been pretty long. Room rates are high that weekend. There were great deals to be had just before and just after that week.:sad2:
