What's your packing style? How far along are you? When did you or will you start?

I started planning the day we booked our cruise over 100 days ago. I immediately went into Google Docs and started a spreadsheet. I put in the significant outfits first (Formal Night, Pirate Night, Semi-formal Night). I started making my pile earlier this week with outfits to fill in the blanks. I'm hoping to be finished with my portion of the packing before Saturday because DH is going to need help.

DH hasn't done anything. That's his stye. Dawdle and squander his time by reading RSS feeds on his phone until Saturday and then pack. I swear, he's going to end up packing 1 pair of socks and 2 underwear on accident and I'm going to send him to Wally's World in Puerto Vallarta. I already warned him, I AM NOT DOING LAUNDRY ON OUR VACATION. So if he packs poorly, he is on his own (and this is the man who put detergent in the dryer when he realized he'd forgotten to put it in during the wash cycle, so yeah, he's not doing laundry either).

Question of the Day: Wednesday, February 1

What's your packing style? How far along are you? When did you or will you start?

We've (ie: me) been making little stacks of stuff for about a week or so. The entire top of my dresser is full of stuff like lint roller, jewelry, sunscreen, sunglasses, clothespins, an alarm clock, lanyards, first aid kit, night light etc.

DH is all packed, as of last night. I have to sit down with him and make him think of EVERY little detail of the cruise. Do you have socks for formal night? Do you want to wear a t-shirt under your dress shirt? Did you pack boxers so you don't freak the room service guy out?

I've finally finished all the shopping for the boys. Bought extra underwear so I won't even HAVE to think about laundry for 10 days!
I will finalize their packing tonight and have two, luxurious days to pack for me! My suitcase is already FULL, but I need to lay everything out, make outfits and have options! There's ALWAYS room for another pair of flip flops!!

QotD: We always wait to pack until the day/night before we leave. We don't do much planning, just pretty much bring all of the clothes we have for warm weather and the couple nice outfits we own for dinners! Can you tell we aren't big clothes people either! DH works from home, so its just get up, throw on some shorts or sweats and he's at work. I worked at Nike for about 6 years, so we have mostly "comfortable" clothes! You will notice a few "swooshes" on us!

For this trip I started purchasing/setting stuff aside months ago. I got my formal when I was on my last vacation. I am mostly packed for this trip, some stuff that has to wait until the last time I use it before vacation will be added last minute. Usually though, I pack the day of the trip since most of my trips are only 3-4 days.

Oh...I'll be jealous of your swooshes! I only wear suits for work, so never manage to invest money in"nice" casual clothes! You will see me in the shorts and tanks I've been wearing for years, the great part about a new group of friends is that I don't need to worry if I wear exactly the same clothes and formal dresses as our last cruise!

Haha, thats pretty much all we wear! Pretty sure we have at least one of everything they make. And they actually make tall clothes for me!

Well I started packing yesterday. It's not going that well. DH hasn't started, and won't start until Friday. I can't find a dress that I like for formal night, so whatever, DH will be in a tux, I guess he'll be MY arm candy for once. Bahahahaha. Man I'm making myself laugh tonight.

I've got so much to do, and work all day tomorrow and Friday, and fly out at 6 am on Saturday. Yet, here I sit on FB and DIS... So tired.

What are you wearing for semi-formal night?

I've decided that formal night is going to be super formal night and semi-formal night is going to be formal night and cruise casual is going to be semi-formal I can't decide on just one formal wear dress. I think I might wear my "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" yellow gown. Ladies, you know what I'm talking about right? I managed to get my hands on it for a song 5 years ago. It has been one of my favorite dresses every since.

I'm bringing 3 dresses, one for formal night, one for semi-formal and one for Palo night. Haven't decided which dress is going to be for which night, but you KNOW I'll be wearing flip flops with all three!!

Where are you now? Plane, train, automobile, Disneyland, San Pedro, running to the airport, etc.

I am getting ready to take DD to a luncheon with my favorite "Will & Jack" and to get our mani/pedi with him. Then I'm going to frantically try to finish all the packing so we can leave here at 10:00 AM Sunday morning, woohoo!!!
