And who will do our trip report? From on board or wait until we get home???

I may be the last to post just because I'm leaving from my house for the cruise. :teeth:

And I'll have the internet package onboard (have to check work emails), so there may be a thread about the cruise failry quickly, especially if I'm enjoying just sitting in Cove Cafe!

(are they coming USPS?).

Ours came UPS 3 day select. But they were shipped from Celebration, FL, so it's only a one day trip (actually, a 45 minute trip, but I'm sure the UPS man didn't drive straight here).

So I guess they shipped Tuesday?

We've had 26 consecutive days of rain here. 26!!!!!! :crazy2: :( Do you have ANY idea how much I'm looking forward to this cruise???

Two of my friends in Seattle were telling me this yesterday, and then RUSHED to the window because a stream of sunlight came through their office windows.

It's cold and windy here today, but still very sunny.

Guess what Im gonna do just before we leave the hotel on the morning of the cruise?

Yeah - I think we may be bringing a laptop too: officially for uploading pictures, but I'm sure there will be an email check here or there (just don't tell my boss!). So we'll all contribute to the trip report I'm sure.

Hate to look stupid here Marcy, but that's Mark's thing. Between him and his uncle, they'll decide what will work best for them. (DU likes to check his stocks!) So I'm not sure. Wait for Mark's reply.

Oh, did I mention that he now has the flu.
So that's 3 of the four of us this week. But as I've mentioned to so many people so many times, I don't get sick because I just don't have time. :goodvibes

Nice to see this on the DU reservation page, it started as more than 360 days away:

Your reservation has been assigned to our reservations team.
Your Vacation begins in 20 Days

I plan to get the wifi package. I just wish they'd wire the staterooms! The computer stations get so crowded sometimes, it's nice to have an option.

Johnna, stay healthy! And tell your family to quite this sick business, LOL.

Denise, what type of writing do you do?

Heather and Jeremiah, when do you fly out? This volcano of yours is pretty grouchy lately!

Tune in tomorrow for the weather in Seattle...the current record is 33 consecutive days of rain here...

Hi all,

Dee - Sorry about all the rain. We have had rain for a couple of days. It is very windy today.

Just think in three weeks we will (hopefully) have some great weather.

As far as our docs, I called and they were sent last Thursday. So with no mail on Monday, I am hoping for Tuesday.

I am so jealous of those that are traveling early. That is great.

I think (for the first time) we are not gonna hook up with an internet plan. I will hate not getting to email our daughters, but trying to keep my husband totally work free.

I am off from work on Monday, so I plan to buy the magnetic paper to make our door sign and a photo mat to have signed for our special anniversary photo. (Of course, I am hoping to get a good photo on the ship.)

I am really enjoying reading all our info. each day.

Have a great Sunday, go Panthers! (and I hate that the Redskins lost.)

Debi

I just saw on the news that we are on day 88 WITHOUT rain!

The sushine is almost unbearable. I think its getting down to 50 degrees tonight. Brrrrrr

27th day of rain. I refuse to take responsibility for rainy weather in FL when I get there. I'll blame it on Kat! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Denise, it's so good to have you back! Enjoy Narnia today. It's a GREAT movie!

I'm bringing a laptop with me (because I'm a geek, a news junkie, and a freelance medical writer, so I'm always working or looking for work), but I don't know if I want to commit to doing the trip report...maybe we can all chime in?

Same here, hoping I can pick up the Deck 9 signal on my verandah.

I have my portable inkjet printer with me to print our boarding passes.....

I'm glad everyone is getting excited about the cruise!

We are going to do the DCL week long Internet package. My wife will need to check her work e-mail. We thought about bringing her laptop but decided it was too much to lug around!

BTW, I am writing this from a hotel in Wausau WI. where we are staying this weekend after attending my father in law's funeral Friday. After five years of poor health, he mercifully passed away this week. This has been a calibration of his life and a chance for the whole extended family to meet each other for the first time in over 15 years. Not to mention the relief that this did not happen right before the cruise!

This trip has also had the side benefit of being a "Pre-cruise" shakedown with several lessons learned including:
* Pack lots of snack foods.
* Be sure the flashlight has a spare bulb.
* Pack plenty of warm PJs for the entire family.
* Pack only one toothbrush per family member (not sure how we ended up with 6 toothbrushes on this trip).
* Bring a second power strip for all the electronics, one was not enough!

I'm going to being my laptop too. I am a bit of an email and news junkie, so I usually jump online over a cup of coffee in the morning. Plus, my Uncle Richard (whom you all will meet and who got us addicted to Disney Cruises by taking us all last year) likes to check stock quotes too.

We have had a week full of sick kids (both had the stomach flu) and I caught a nasty case of the flu on Friday myself. Let's just say that I cannot wait for the sunshine and warm breezes of Florida and the Eastern Caribbean.

Dee,

I happen to know that it was raining in Seattle yesterday because I watched my beloved Redskins lose to the Seahawks yesterday. The weather was a lousy as the outcome of the game, from my perspective.

It's 22 degrees here this morning (feels colder because I have a flu bug that I cannot get rid of). C'mon sunny weather!

Mark, it's a good thing I couldn't care less about football, or I would have had to comment on the game from my perspective... :teeth:

We have this yellow thing in the sky today, I forgot what it's called...SUN! yeah, that's it! SUN! No rain so far, but I'm sure it'll be back...I'll just enjoy the yellow ball in the sky while it lasts...

Steven and family -- you have my deepest sympathies. I'm glad there seems to be a lot of poistive associated with this sad event, according to your post.

When we took our 2004 10-night cruise in Dec. we got a call from Joe's (my DH) parents saying his grandmother (who has been in ill health for several years) was in intensive care. This was the day before we left for FL. We really agonized over whether to cancel the trip or not. I will be forever grateful to the DISers on the 10-night thread who offered us their support and encouragement to go ahead with the vacation. His family also felt we shouldn't cancel. She passed away the night before we set sail, and it was tough on Joe during the cruise. Nevertheless, he has no regrets about going. We had an amazing time. It's just that the timing was really BAD. Obviously it would have been a different story if it were a parent in the ICU.

I really don't know why I brought this up. The sun must be confusing me today...

We have soooooo much sympathy for you. We have had I do not know how many days of temperatures in the low teens and nights below 10 degrees. On top of the fickle volcano we somehow got six inches of snow in freezing temperatures. Please let this cruise hurry up and get here!!!

Oh by the way Dee, Jeremiah and I leave at like 1:00 in the morning on Febuary third. See you in Port Canaveral. :cool1:

I just read a trip report that said you could tell your dinning rotation by the dinner time listed on your on-line reservation. Mine said 6pm. I am curious if all the main seatings say 6pm or if I really have PLA.

Ok you guys, I need some pixie dust here.

Of course, our documents haven't arrived yet. We called UPS and they are being delivered today. Yes, we called UPS and they *DO* have regular operating service today even being Martin Luther King holiday.

But, I don't want them to come today!!

You heard right...I DON'T want to be doing the document dance today - it would ruin everything.

As you know, this trip is a SURPRISE for my mom's 50th bday. And guess what. She's the ONLY person in our household that has off today. So, if the docs come, the trip will be spoiled. 2 years of planning wisked away by a holiday.

Ugh.

we've called UPS all weekend and the docs are finally in our area, the last stage before delivery. WE put in a plea to UPS to have them PLEASE hold the documents. Delivery ANY other day is fine, except today. They will "see what they can do but there's no guarantee."

So, I need some pixie dust today to keep the documents from arriving!!

TigerB - Does your Mom open your mail? If not, the package that arrived at our house is very plain. The return address does say Disney Cruise Line but if she isn't really looking she may not notice. If she does notice - you can say you sent away for a planning video to see if you want to do a cruise next summer.
