As we approach the sailing date, our own little group of enthusiasts has posted more than 400 messages! We have formed our own community and have begun enjoying the trip well in advance of leaving. And booked some cool bonding experiences.

So a quick thanks to Steve, a.k.a. steveandtonya for starting this thread lo so many months ago. Thanks, Steve.

I second that -- :worship: THANKS STEVE!!!!!!!!

OK, we are getting into the timeframe when the cruise docs show up.

Make sure and let us know when yours make it.

Pixie dust for upgrades - for us mostly, but if anyone else gets one, I'll be happy for you too!!!!

Dee - I just thought of this today. How can we have the brunch at Palo at 10:00 and do the character breakfast at the same time? I have not ever been on the Magic (just the Wonder) so I have never been to one. I really don't want to miss the character breakfast. (I think that Tigerb also mentioned this.)

SO...help! Is there a way to find out if the character breakfast is on Sunday?

I believe the character breakfast will depend on your dinning rotation (someone correct me on this if I'm wrong). As such, you can change your rotation on board if it conflicts with the brunch. Or, If TigerB gets a different date, you can try to switch with someone in her group if you have a conflict. Character Breakfasts are only on at sea days, just like the Palo brunches, so I'm afraid someone will always have a conflict...

It looks like a lot of us will be at the pre-sail away party. That might be a good chance to swap brunch spots if possible. We will all know are dining rotations at that point. From other posts, it sounds like you can do both the character breakfast and brunch in the same morning if they are scheduled at least 75 minutes apart (9:45 early seating, 11 late seating). From what I have read if you have APL the character breakfast is Sunday, LAP Monday and PLA Thursday.

Im pretty sure the character breakfast is the day after you have dinner in Animators.

Here is a clip from another trip report:

I believe formal night on our Eastern was Sunday night. Character breakfasts are the first sea day after your first dinner in Animator's Palate. So you have dinner in AP on Sunday night and you have a sea day Monday, that morning will be your character breakfast. If you have AP dinner on Monday night you will have character breakfast not until Thursday morning

Hey where in NY did you escape from?

I was born in Queens and grew up in Massapequa....

Or more than one way -- I'd do brunch EVERY day! :goodvibes

Seriously, bruch at Palo is one of my favorite things -- maybe it's because native New Yorkers love their brunches, and I haven't had a good one in 10 years (since moving to Florida) except at Palo!

Marcy (who is very talkative today because of the excitement and worries about how bad she'll get in the next month)

Hi - progress report on the 2nd Palo brunch. Here's the update:

1. We received the DCL contact info from Dee to make the ressies. Thanks Dee!

2. I have 8 ppl so far...mary & stephen, steve & tonya, and my party (we are 4). I think I need 10 (max 14)...so there's still room. I wonder if I can make up 2 more names? Yachtsea - let me know if you want in.

3. I am making them for Thursday - thinking about 9:30/10.

4. I am making the ressies tomorrow, Monday around 9ish, but I will check these boards before I do!!

Maybe we can see if they can push it back an hour so nobody will miss the Character Breakfast............

Happy birthday Bill -- Palo Brunch on 2/5 at 10AM in the back room, reservation for 14!

Reservation is under the name of Adi Ferrara (me).

The list I have for attendees is:
Biilinaz (2)
MarcyInForida (2)
The Storys (3)
Sbatty (3)
Yachtsea (2)
Dee and Kat (2)

If anyone who didn't get in wants to have brunch at the same time with us, on the 10-night cruise they set up a tavle near the back room for another group. Just make the Palo resie for Sunday at 10 when you get on board.

The website for our meet seems to get corrupted.

It is:

www.members.cox.net/

feb_4_dcl_eastern_dis_meet/

dcl_meet_2.htm

By the way DELETE the extra line breaks

OK, that may be a good idea about switching places at the meet. So...Tigerb I may need to be hooked up with your brunch. I just really don't want to miss that character breakfast. Also, with the Superbowl being on for Sunday evening, I wonder how it would work having it be the formal night. So many things to think about.

Oh my!

(By the way, our Carolina Panthers have moved on to now play the Bears.) Are any of you football fans?

My husband is a Patriots nut. I will be a football widow if they go all the way.

yatchsea - I am going to see if I can make up 2 more names for our ressie, so we should have room for any swaps.

billinaz - good spreadsheet. We are in room 7129 w/ Dmom & Dstepdad across the hall. We are getting to port at noon...we leave from GF in WDW at 10:30 am and taking a car service, so I assume noon arrival.

DH wants to know if anyone (guys) has SB plans for Sunday. Meet? Jumbotron? Party? (we are only in a standard though.) a Pool?

Is APL the one that people with kids usually get? I never quite understood it.

I was born and raised in the Bronx, then lived in Brooklyn Heights during my last few years in New York.

Maybe you should make it for 14 to give some wiggle room for moving around spots in case of Character Breakfast conflicts?

What is their cancellation policy -- if you reserve 14 for each and then bring one or more of the ressies down to 10 once we get our rotation assignments, would that work? You can put us down on yours, too, if that's allowed. And if I have to eat brunch twice, I'll deal with it and take one for the team. :rotfl2:

I had no idea it was the Superbowl. I think that pretty much sums it up for what dh and I will NOT be doing! :confused3

I think that watching the Superbowl will be best from the Jumbotron. And what is this "GUYS" thing? Some of us ladies enjoy a good football game. If the Panthers go all the way... woohoo. Of course, we also like the Bears (7 years of living in Chicago) and the Redskins (I like Joe Gibbs.)

As for the brunch Tigerb: Making up names will be good. I am sure it will all work out well.

Anyone start making their door sign yet?

Also, have any of you heard what the exact medical emergency was that made the ship stop head to Nassau today? They then left and headed very quickly toward St. Mart.

Actually, you can ask for rotations. If Bill is right, and the character breakfast is the night after Animator's Palate, call DCL and ask to NOT be on APL or ALP if you're in the Sunday Brunch group. They usually honor requests for dinner rotation. And like I said, you can switch rotations (or brunch dates, if TigerB gets Thursday), once on board.

Funny thing -- I never paid attention to when the character breakfasts were -- we just showed up when they told us! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I hope whoever was sick on the Magic today is going to be OK...Sending PD their way!

Guys,

I am all for watching the Super Bowl on the Jumbo Tron. Unless, of course, my beloved Redskins are in it, in which case I may need to be put under sedation and restricted to my room. I get a little worked up during the 'Skins games.

My uncle, who is part of our party, is a diehard Patriots fan. If it is a Patriots-Redskins Super Bowl, we may as well just cancel the cruise! :rotfl2:

APL is "small" kids - according to our passporter. And that's what we had last year. So we may have a problem with Sunday's brunch, and would be willing to switch to the other one once we confirm. We would also have to get Flounder's ressies if DD can't go into the OC.

Yeah - what's this discrimination about????? I love a good game - especially if it will be on the Jumbotron. Unless of course I have to monitor Mark's heartrate if the Redskins are in the Superbowl... :teeth: Although, if it is formal night, that would be a little weird wearing heels and cheering on a game... :upsidedow
