FEB 3, 2008 ABROAD DISNEY WONDER--Who else??

Hi there -
We're from LI, New York and I'll be taking my 2 kids (2.5 yrs and 5 yrs) on Wonder this Sunday too. I just found this board and we're so excited for our trip!

Welcome!!!

Check out the Krewe Webpage at www.travisfamily4.net/cruise.htm and see when our meets are.

I am sorry but the magnets and goodie bag exchanges are closed....but we would love to see you at the 3:00 meet.

Tara

I can't believe after over a year of planning that we are getting ready to go!!!

We leave Friday after school and head to Lafayette for the first leg of our journey. Then rise and shine to the airport to go to Orlando and then off to DownTown Disney to do some quick shopping (looking for Fairy Tale Curvee' at Mickeys Pantry) Then back to POFQ to see if our room is ready and then to change for our SURPRISE visit to MK. Carsyn still has no idea that she is going to BBB or P&PP. We keep saying pirate night this and pirate night that...but she thinks we are talking about the boat. LOL

I know some of the KRewe is gone already....I can't wait to meet you all!

Which parade is your favorite? I really miss my fav. parades in NOLA...Endemyion and Bakkus (sp?):sad1:

I'm a northshore gal now...we love Eve. It has Lots of stuff and not to wild for the kids...but I do love Endymion! :thumbsup2 We'll miss all those this year...but a cruise is better!:yay:

Quarterman, I hate that you had to miss any parade, especially your favorite-which was it? I miss the parades back home. The Mobile parades are fine, but there's something missing for me. Because of that, we don't go to many at all.
Glenn's not a Mardi Gras fan AT ALL. Hates the rowdy crowds, the cold rainy weather that often shows up, and just doesn't get the bead/doubloon/cup thing. I tell him, it's like the Disney Magic- you just get it or you don't. :confused3 Thankfully, he totally gets the Magic!!! :wizard: He's always told our kids we can go see one parade (one time) OR we can go visit Mickey. I have smart kids- they pick the Mouse every time.
I just read that Gladiators rolled in Chalmette last week-end. I remember you said that your husband grew up there-did you hit that one?

See you real soon!
Janet

Well my fav is eve on the North Shore. Perfect for families!
We were living in Fl for a few years and really missed Mardi Gras...when we got back we went 10 -15 parades- couldn't get enough of it. and the king cakes! yummy! It's hard to be away from LA!
We didn't make it out to chalmette because we had Girl scouts tha day.
This year has been so busy I haven't caught one parade. We all rode in one and the kids caught one with Daddy but that's it. I'm hoping to squeeze one in Fri night...

and your kids are smart. I want Mickey too! :thumbsup2

This should make all you last minute packers feel better---I don't even OWN some of the stuff I need to pack!!!! Was hoping to go shopping today (well, yesterday) but never made it past home, school, carpool, ballet, basketball practice- you get the picture. Oh well, "I'll think about that tomorrow". Ok, any movie buffs- name the movie and the character from my last quote. First correct answer gets to be first on CC. Yes, I'll hold everyone else back, so you'll just need to get past me!!:rotfl2:
Janet

Gone with the wind- Scarlett O'Hara

Any respectable southern gal should know that!:rotfl:

Welcome!

Am I the only one not packed? I'm busy helping my wife write a chapter for textbook and it's due on Thursday (the day we fly out).

Aaaaaaa!!!!

if by packed to you mean a huge pile of stuff I've been gathering thrown in a huge pile in the corner?
:rotfl2:
What am I doing on here??? I have to get busy! :scared1:

Just got off the phone with DVC and we have tickets for the PP& P! pirate:

I can't believe how easy this all worked out. :cool1:

We're off! Can't wait to see some of you on Saturday and all of you on Sunday! Have a great week!

See you soon,
Tonya, Travis, Sierra and Mason

I am so anxious. I can't think straight. No packing done yet.

Gotta keep working on this bibliography project...

Hi LibraMom,
Welcome to the Krewe. The more, the merrier! Looking forward to meeting you and your family.

Holy Cow it is cold today!!:cold: What a great day to be leaving for Florida! :cool1: There are a ton of schools closing because of the cold- it is just to dangerous for the kids to go outside. The wind chill is -40!! So far it look like my kids school is still open. I really hope they get to go- it will make it easier to get all my last minute things done. We leave for the airport around 2pm so I will try to check in 1 more time before then to say good-bye.
Have a great day- I know we will;)

P.S. Great to hear you are back in the States Shawn. Should be clear sailing from here!

MomPotz,
Can't even comprehend -40!! Just plain old 40 is enough to send me running for cover. Tell me, when its that cold, do kids still put up a fight to dress warmly enough? I mean, its all relative, but 40 really is cold to us but my kids never want to wear coats, gloves, etc. My oldest one has the notion that if he keeps leaving the clothes at school, he just won't have to wear them. Wrong! Just means we go deeper into the closet and there's no telling what's in there!:rotfl:
Be safe in your travels. See you Sunday.:woohoo:

Tara,
I love the surprise! Can't wait to hear how she re-acted. You two will have to give Sammie and I the lowdown on BBB. Is Carsyn wearing a princess dress to the party? I was thinking of bringing one for our party the following week. Better to have it and not have her begging for one just like the ones at home, huh?:thumbsup2
