Feb 20, 2011 - Presidents' Week - Mexican Riviera

OK, I had to come some place where folks that love Disney could understand my disapointment and frustration.

I bought front row seats to Disney on Ice for my DD on 11/2. We saw the show last year from the front row, and this year I bought early so we could have "better" front row seats. I was the first person that bought for this show, Section 1, row AA, seats 1-2. We have been talking about this show for months.

Fast forward to last night when the box office arena calls to tell me Ticketmaster sold me invalid seats - they don't exist. There is no section "1" in the area. So they are going to go ahead and give me seats in row they just opened up. They were making it sound like they were doing me a favor and that these seats would be just as good. Um yeah, this row, is right next to the curtain and NOT the same seats I would have purchased. It's a crummy view, we would be looking at the back of the show basically. I was so upset. I'm still mad about it.

After asking for a manager, I did end up with seats in a better section, row B, but it isn't the same experience. I'm so bummed. I told them Ticketmaster needed to refund my money. This is not how you treat priority customers and customers that come to the show every year. I know we will still have a good time, I just can't believe they waited til the night before the show to see that this had happend. I can't be the only customer it affected either.

Anyways, show tonight and I need to finish packing! We leave on Friday. Even this rain we are having can't dampen my excitement for this cruise!

Wow! How disappointing! I'm hoping they come through for you with a refund. Or at the very least some freebies.

I can certainly understand how upset you are. Especially since you make such an effort to get the seats you wanted.

Hope you enjoy the show!

For those of you driving down from Northern California, they are forecasting rain throughout the area and also snow at lower mountain elevations Friday and Saturday. You may want to check Caltrans and see if there are problems with snow closures at the Grapevine and Cajon Pass this weekend.

Drive carefully!

Oh goodness. I guess it is a good thing we are leaving early on Friday.

We have our mickey ponchos packed for Friday and Saturday at Disneyland!::MickeyMo

There was 80% chance of rain today and I think it cleared up before 11 am so you may or may not need the ponchos. That's not to say that it isn't pretty cold outside. It is 50 degrees outside our house (at 4:30 pm) and we live 20 minutes from the port. Brrrrr. :cold:

Hi everyone,
I've been out of touch for a while, as we have had a tough month. We are soooooo ready to get away for a bit!

Haven't had a chance to get caught up with the thread yet, but did notice a couple new families joined - welcome aboard!

We leave Friday - wishing everyone safe travels and we will see you onboard Sunday!

I have a quick question, for those of you that are still here. Can the Disney bus trasport you from Disney land to the Port? If so, what is the cost? Thanks
Patricia

Yes, Disneyland transport can take you from DL to the port, from the port to LAX and from LAX to DL. Each leg is $30 per person.

Thank you so much for the info. Believe or not, Disney Cruise line, was not able to answer my question about DL to the port when I called yesterday.

I have never been to Ca we will not have a car. We're staying at the Hyatt about a mile from DL. We're using the https://www.certificates.hyatt.com/p...CertsStay.aspx
at a great rate, plus they offer the Hyatt shuttle to pick us up at LA airport.
We're using the Hyatt free shuttle to DL for one day, and early the next am free hyatt shuttle back to DL to DCL bus to the port, Sounds like a great plan.

Thank you for all of your advice, much appreciated :thumbsup2

The only catch in taking Disney transport from DL to the port is that it only picks up at the three Disney resort hotels. I'm not sure how it works if you are staying at another hotel.

I just realized that a bunch of you are leaving tomorrow. I hope you have an easy trip. I hope that DL isn't too crowded for you (there are a number of school districts and private schools around here that have all of next week off).

Personally, I'm praying for warmth, but I'm ready with my fleece and cozy clothes just in case. I'm planning on having a fabulous time even if the weather doesn't cooperate.

I hope you all get here easily and safely and am looking forward to meeting you on Sunday. After far too much planning, I'm finally getting excited.

Hi everyone! I'm back in Northern California after spending most of the week in S. CA. Just got home in time to do laundry, pack, and then drive down to LA on Sat. In Riverside we kept hearing about the possibility of snow but the skies were clear when I left.

I'm just hoping we can get through the Grape Vine. Oh well, this is the whole reason we're going down Sat. Worst case scenario we can always take a long detour and make our way around the grapevine.

Wishing everyone safe travels and we'll see you on Sunday at 3!

Just finished zipping up the suitcases. Well the ones for the cruise part of the trip. I have one small bag to hold clothes for our 2 days at Disneyland that I will have to finish in the morning since the rest of the family is asleep.

We leave tomorrow at 6am, hoping to beat some of the rush hour traffic here in Sacramento and if the weather is ok, beat the rush hour in LA (is that even possible though? isn't it always rush hour there?)

I have way too much luggage. But, at least we shouldn't NEED anything while we are gone. It's the first cruise for the kiddos and I know I over packed, but I'm ok with it. :goodvibes

Here's hoping for a semi-dry time in Disneyland, I couldn't exactly pack EXTRA clothes for that portion of the trip, so you know, we don't want to be soaking wet the whole time.

See you all in 2 days!

Safe trips to everyone! We leave tomorrow morning- trying to work on packing a bit before work! Thought I would get it done last night, but didn't work out!

See you all on Sunday!

Safe travels to everyone!

If it is pouring at DL, duck into Innovations (near Space Mtn). It is a great time killer, holds a lot of people and is dry. In DCA, the Animation Academy is also covered and dry.

Just doing a weather check for those of you in Southern California. Is it raining and cold down there? I know it wasn't yesterday in Riverside but I'm wondering if the cold, wet weather we are getting up here is hitting you down there as well.

I'm at work a few miles from Disneyland, and the rain just got here about an hour ago. Looks like rain on and off tomorrow and hopefully clearing Sun morning...
