FEB 20, 2010 Western MAGIC Cruise

Okay-
OKAY- so, in all this reading I saw that some Dis-meeters are coordinating with their groups to have the same dining rotation- Is this too much togetherness?? Not like we have to eat at the same tables, but to eat in the same restaurant rotation so we can wave our forks at Jim and Beth... So.... Miss Crazypants is asking...any takers? Anything to avoid doing real work!! ;) Post, email or PM me your thoughts!

Great idea. I'm in... just let me know what I need to do. :hippie: (I, too, like these little guys!)

We're on late dining, but would love to dine with other DIS'ers. Just remember that we are two "old folks"! I don't have time to coordinate this, but if someone is willing to do it, I will PM our reservation number.

Beth

Beth no need to worry...Donna and I are kidless and old too! We can sit near each other...too bad we can't ask to be seated at the same table since we are 4 adults! Shauna if you put in some requests you can tell them to sit us near the Dis folks.

As far as the FE; I bought a bunch of stuff today...it was so much fun and still plan to get more. I am thinking about doing a drop to each FE two times with a little something for everyone (kids and parents) in the stateroom each time. There were some really neat items, but they were too big to even think about taking on the plane. I love buying for kids since mine are all grown up and I have no grandkids...yet! :lovestruc

I'm 58 and traveling solo. My son is 27 but no grandkids yet either. Would love to hook up with the rest of the DIS group; regardless of age. Never think of my current age as old, but that's just my state of mind!

Anyone else love to dance??? party: I usually find a way to stick around until the dancing is done for the night...

Who else feels or acts like they are still 16? ME! Sometimes, my daughter is more older than I- sometimes? Who am I kidding!! I am going to do some 'research' today on emailing DCL and getting a bunch of us on the same dining rotation and sitting in the same area- forks outstretched- who's with us?? :
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

I do not know what seating we are but I am in. Will have to call TA and ask. I did request early, I see most people requested late:confused3 Ao I am not sure how this will go:)

I'm in the late seating. Let me know what info you need to get me seated near others from the group... :grouphug:

Does this mean I need to convert my wizard hat into a dunce cap? :wizard: :rotfl:

I'm staying at the Airport Marriott the night before. Got a great deal on Priceline. Bid $40 for a 3.5 star and it worked! The Marriott has a shuttle to the port for $35. I'll be taking that and getting to the ship around noon.

Need to start to think about what I'm going to bring... :laundy:

Okay-
Here is the email via DCL-
:goodvibes
"Dear Shauna,

Thank you for your interest in a Disney Cruise Line vacation!

I am happy to assist you.

Your reservations would need to be linked together so that you're all on
the same dining rotation and the dining coordinator will know that you'd
like to sit together if possible. Although not guaranteed, if your
reservations are linked, our dining team will do the utmost to
accommodate your request. "

So- looks like if you could email me your info I will make a list and send it along- sounds good??
Okay- in case you forgot my email is .....shines@maine.rr.com :surfweb: I'll be around!

:banana:Last Call For FE Exchange:banana:

For those that would like to join our group please PM me or post a response to this message by tomorrow 1/30/2010. I will post the finalized list Sunday. If anyone changes staterooms or upgrades at port please let us know at the DIS meet.

We have a limo reserved through limocarorlando.com for $325 (plus gratuity of $65 for a total of $390). I'm not sure if your quote from Happy Limo includes gratuity, but the prices seem pretty close. I don't think it matters, but we are a party of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids).

We are renting a car from the airport (Budget). One day rental returning to Budget location by the port with free shuttle to the ship. (Same on the way back.) Approx. $50 each way for our fam of 5. This way we can stop and buy wine on the way to carry on the ship!;)

Regarding Grand Caymon, our plan is to grab a cab and go to Seven Mile Beach for the day. Maybe come back toward the ship and do some shopping at the port prior to reboarding.

We're in for linked dining, as long as it remains late seating! I'll email the reservation number when I finish posting this.

As for dancing...back in the day, Jim and I used to win Twist contests. Now we're both paying for that with bad knees, etc. Our dancing now is mostly ballroom type, swing dancing, etc. That's a bit more romantic for us long-time married folks, and is sometimes the only bit of romance we get in our busy lives!

There are days when I feel like I'm 110 years old, with the achy back and knees, etc. However, last night, I was crawling on the floor with the grandbabies, and was able to stand up and walk afterwards! That's quite an accomplishment! I figure it's good exercise, as is carrying the babies around. It's certainly more fun that weight-lifting!

We're using Disney Transportation from the airport to the port and from the port to WDW. It's reasonable when there's only two. On my last cruise (in May) my friend and I took Amtrak to Kissimmee and then took a limo from there to the port. That was quite a luxury for us, but it was also necessary, since Disney buses don't pick up at the Amtrak station. BTW, it was a great way to travel (Amtrak).

And, on an absolutely wonderful note, I just finished the Five-Year Plan that has to be submitted before I can take my vacation. It's done, and I will be printing the endless number copies for the next week. To celebrate, I changed the time on my countdown clock from the time of my flight on 2/19 to the time I will walk out of this office a free woman--at least for two weeks! As of right now, I have 19 days, 15 hours and 3 minutes left!

And...I got my corrected cruise documents, with all the right information this time, and no one else's stuff included. I hope that the gentleman whose stuff I got was able to straighten out his things, too!

Hey Kathy...Donna and I enjoy dancing if we can stay awake! :rotfl2: I am 52 and Donna is 50. Also, you are welcome to dine with us (I sent Shauna an email with our res#).

We are flying in to MCO the morning of the cruise; arrive about 10:40 and will catch the Disney shuttle so I hope we are at the terminal around noon'ish. :yay:

Hi All!
Getting the list together for a 2nd seating dining 'link' = so far we have Holly and fam, Donna and Sue, Beth and Jim, Kathy...any other takers? Also- Lets' post pix of us up here so we'll look familiar b4 the cruise- if you like... this was David and I this past October when he 'surprised' me ( I whined it out of him) with a quick trip to Disney for my 40th...

Going scrapbooking all day/night tomorrow- hope to get my 2008 trip done! Hope, being the key word....

Sorry, but I don't know how to post a pic...if you want you can post the one I sent to you, Shauna, or someone give me detailed instructions how to accomplish this feat! :rotfl:

Keep your fingers (and toes) crossed; I just did 2 of the Mickey tie-dyed shirts and hope they turn out half-way decent when I take them out of the bag tomorrow morning. It was a lot of fun doing them. :hippie:

This picture was taken by our Palo server on 11/25/05. We were on Wonder, cruising past Castaway Cay on our sea day. You can see Magic in the background. It was a lot of fun with the horns sounding back and forth!

What is everyone doing after the cruise:confused3? I hate to even think about it, but I need to make plans:sad1:
We don't even have plans on how to get back to MCO
Our flight doesn't leave until 5:30, so there's plenty of time to kill :darth: but not enough time (or inclination) to go to a disney park.
