FEB 20, 2010 Western MAGIC Cruise

OK, I'm getting "Cruise Brain". We're not in room 7125--we're in 7165. Could it be the stress of the fact that I have to finish my Annual Report for work before I can leave? Or that I have to finish my five-year plan too? I'm really going to need this vacation by the time it gets here!

Holly - You did a great job on your FE. I wish I was that crafty. We ordered one from ebay hopefully it will arrive in time. If not I may need to get more info on how you made yours.

Holy Mickey Ears, Holly!! You sew?! AKK!! Now I feel like I have to step up my game...RATS! Did you find some good instructions on the cite, or are you just naturally talented? Where did you find the pins/tacks? My mom and husband have NO idea what they are getting into!! With 10" of fresh snow on the ground, today's a great day to venture back into my crafting shop...if I can get off these darn boards!!! Is anyone else having Love Boat flashbacks?? Is there a Lido deck? David and I were Capn Stubbing and Julie McCoy for Halloween 2008...

We've never participated in a FE that everyone did gifts everyday, we usually bring enough stuff for 2 days. Usually people end up picking different days to go around so there are gifts most days. Trying to bring enough stuff to deliver all 7 days seems like too much. I say do as much as you can/want without getting stressed/overwhelmed (that would kinda take the fun out of it, wouldn't it).

One person in an earlier post (can't remember who) said that everyday was optional. Just do what you want... a few days or every day of the cruise. I'm thinking of bringing enough for 2-3 days. Maybe one day something for each kiddo and then on another day one item that the whole family can enjoy. This is my first fish extender exchange also so hopefully that is okay with everyone on he exchange.

Finishing my FE today. I'm so excited about it and doing the exhchange. Looking forward to meeting everyone, too at the meet.

Did you find a pattern for a FE or just make one up? I went looking for something on Saturday and didn't find anything close. If you did find a pattern, would you let me know the number and which company it's from?

Did very little sewing... just to attached the pockets and the sleeve for the dowel. I found directions by searching for "Fish Extender Pattern" but mostly just winged it. Mine is 8 1/2 inches across. I mostly used Under Wonder (that stuff that holds fabric together when placed between and ironed). I found the bottle caps at JoAnn Fabrics and used my hot glue gun to attach them. It was super easy. Only took about two hours to make.

My friend was supposed to have a House Party, and she gave me all her stuff... will bring those bandanas to our rendezvous on the Promanade deck! Right now I am wasting time trying to find some graphics online to make some door magnets...my husband is growing concerned...

The documents came by UPS this morning. No one ever rings our doorbell--we didn't even know that it worked until today! So we were all startled when it rang, and my son opened the door, signed for a package and asked me if I had ordered anything. I did, but I figured since I only ordered that bathing suit for DH this morning, that probably wasn't it! I was surprised to see my cruise package this soon. I'm almost always the last one to get it for some reason.

I did fill out all the online documents and have them printed, so everything is fine, except for my ground transportation and insurance. My TA is taking care of everything now to make sure that both reservations are separated and remain intact.

In nine cruises, this is the first time that we've had any kind of a mixup, so I'm really not worried. My luggage tags have the correct room number, so all of my stuff will arrive in the room. Now if only the time would pass and I could get those two big reports done I'd be much happier!

So I'm sitting here reading about how everyone is starting to get their documents and my dogs start to bark. Could it be? A feeble knock at the door....I go running to it, and sure enough....UPS man walking away. Thanks, Tom (UPS man)! We are very excited! Debi

UPS man - I knew they were sending them soon. Can't wait for my own papers. Making it more official every day.

Pirates - the past cruise we went on, Target had pirate stuff and fairy stuff in it's dollar spot right before our cruise! Perfect timing. Haven't seen it yet but there is hope that the next round of dollar spot stuff will have it in there. I can find my bandana from the last cruise and at least have that.

Excursions - with a large group, at times we split up and other times we are together. Some we organized on our own because we will have a toddler with us and to book an excursion through Disney, she wouldn't be able to do anything.

Key West - electronic cars (all of us and booked separately)

Cozumel - some snorkeling, most at the dolphin adventure (this booked separately), others on the mayan ruins tour, others staying on the boat

Grand Cayman - some snorkeling, most at 7 mile beach, old folks on island tour ( ), don't know what others are doing

Castaway Cay - some on wave runners, some on some catamaran tour, mostly we'll be relaxing and crying about the end of the trip
