Fear the Walking Dead - anyone?

Alcatraz! Why hasn't anyone else thought of that LOL!! Great idea.

When she said east, she meant the desert, that was their original plan. Not sure why this desert, less people there maybe?

As far as not notifying the neighbors, yeah, that wasn't great. But how long would it have taken them to get out if they stopped at every house? They had a limited time before they were all exterminated, and if they talked to everyone they might not have made it out on time.

I know they kept talking about the desert in previous episodes, but they always referred to it as 'the desert', never saying east (which is where the desert is). Since the producers like to add in subtle hints, I wondered if that was one of them.

They could have locked the gate! That was just mean.

Love that Dixon connection. One thing that she said though that perked my ears, was she said they should go east. That made me wonder if she was thinking about all the way to Georgia. Why not south or north. Plenty of places to go on the west coast. Up to Canada, down to Mexico... Seems chancy to drive through the desert and all the way across. She must have something in mind.

They could set up at Alcatraz. That could keep them safe. ;)
Travis said something about a camp ground out east in the desert. Sounds like a place they had been to in the past. I don't know who would want to camp in a desert..........but to each their own.
We used to go camping at Big Basin with all the giant redwoods. Much prettier then the desert.

I would be on the Don't Trust The Government side. :p I think we have seen how they reacted in some smaller scenario's and how they screwed those up. I can imagine the cluster... that would insue if it was on a global scale.

I can understand why they removed Daniel's wife. She was badly injured and would have died without medical intervention. Yes, they were trying to help her medically, but they also had to prevent her from coming back if she died due to the infection.

Nick, I can see him being a liability. Addicts will go to extreme lengths to get their fix, so he could not be trusted. Not to mention the possibility of an OD is always there. Of course, storming someones house at night, guns on everyone, pushing people around and threatening is really not the best way to go about "helping" people though. You don't really make friends or gain anyone's trust by lying and threatening and kidnapping people.

I know, how could they just drive by, seeing these poor kids through the window and not warn them? Mr. Spineless, can't hurt anyone, was fine with leaving them all there for a certain death? That was pretty cold hearted. I can see them not wanting people following them, especially since they were heading out on their covert mission, but give them a fighting chance at least. Leaving the gates open was just adding insult to injury. So wrong of them.

I didn't watch Talking Dead so totally missed this part. What was it they said? Did they allude to the fact that Madison is or may be related to one of the TWD crew? If that is the case, I am so voting for Daryl and Meryl!!

The producer of fear the dead was on Talking Dead. They were talking about what is coming up next season and he said something to the effect of, "I'm surprised nobody picked up on the fact that Madison has a southern accent.........." Then Chris Hardwick got all excited and said something (pretending to be Madison) like, "Hey everyone lets go down to Georgia to meet up with my brother Rick Grimes!" Chris was totally kidding, but was insinuating that it would be awesome if Madison and Rick were siblings.

Some people feel the producer was giving us a "hint" that Madison is somehow related to one of TWD characters. Personally, I don't think so because as I said up thread, they were pretty clear that there would be no crossover between the two series. I think the producer was just playing with everyone and being silly. Not giving a hint of things to come. We will see I guess!

Has anyone watched the first episode of the web series with the plane? I haven't yet, just curious to see if anyone else has watched yet. I need to do that.

Oh, okay. Thanks. I really should go back and watch it. I think it's on demand. I caught her accent, but with the way people move (myself having lived on both coasts), it didn't really register. Not unusual to find people with all sorts of accents in places you realize they didn't grow up in. But, my vote is still for her to be a Dixon, all though, I'm sure it won't happen.

Nope, I have heard about it, but haven't watched anything yet. Is it on the AMC website?

Really? I'm not hearing any southern accent.

I think their point was the actress has a southern accent and everyone once in awhile there is a hint of it in Madisons speaking on the show. The conversation started because they were talking about the actors that are doing American accents.

In real life she was born in Alabama. My bet is the producer is just messing with people.

I heard some southern in her voice, but I thought it was just because she's from the south. She was born in Alabama & went to college in Tennessee. (Her accent's actually a lot like mine.)

I've never watched Deadwood, but I remember her from LOST (she was Sawyer's girlfriend in flashbacks & then helped Kate), & she had a southern accent then, of course.

So, while I picked up on her southern accent, I really didn't think anything of it & didn't make any kind of connection until the producer mentioned it on Talking Dead.

Okay, just watched it. It's not even 2 minutes long. First off, the flight attendant is a B. Secondary, who the heck did that woman think she was, turning around and slamming the window blind down on him? I would have had words with her if she had done that to me. Of course, I think she knows something is up and is trying to hide it from the people on the plane. Probably hoping that they can get in the air and get away from it.

I watched it. You're not missing much :(

Well that's disappointing, is it really just a couple minutes long? I thought it would be at least a half hour. They said on TD last night that one character from the web series would be on season 2.

Well, you may be more impressed than I was, lol!!

They said in the release that each episode is about 1 minute long. And new episodes will be online each week, and air during commercial breaks during TWD. And yes, a character will be in season two of FTWD. I will try to watch tonight.

We noticed how every so often you could hear an Australian accent from Alisha's. We looked her up and she is indeed Australian. Never noticed that Madison had an accent.

It was odd. The kid on the plane already looked completely freaked out. Agree with PP about the flight attendant being a B, and the woman who shut the window seemed a little B-ish as well. Maybe they all know something is "up" and want to get the heck out of dodge and that's why they're all a little freaked looking?
