:( My family and I are on Deck 7 with a verandah (plexiglass)....my DH thinks i'm going to be too scared to enjoy it because i'm scared of heights....Can anyone comment on this?

We had a cabin on the sixth deck (plexiglass), and I am not fond of heights. In fact, my body is convinced that gravity reverses itself near balcony railings and high windows, and that I will go flying up in the air and over the railing and down into the briny deep, or whatever.

Anyway, I didn't have those feelings on the ship. for some reason. The railings are quite high, and I felt very secure whether I was standing or sitting. I even worked up to leaning on the railing with no qualms. The verandah was great!

By the way, as a funny coincidence, my nickname as a summer camp counselor is "Eskimo!"

Have fun on the ship!

My knees go to jello and get that tingly feeling in them when I get to close to the rail on the second floor at the Mall:rolleyes: .

While we were on our 6th deck verandah with plexi-glass, I was fine over the ocean. It really didn't phase me at all. I was quite shocked. I did do some practice runs out there before we left Port and that was harder. Probably because things look so small from up there when you know they should be bigger and closer to be safe!!!

But on the ocean, that illusion doesn't exist and it helps.

The rail was up around my waist too, so that helped.

Thats what i was trying to convince DH of....it wouldn't be the same out on the ocean...Thanks!!!

While we didn't hav a verandah, DH was perfectly fine on all of the outdoor decks, and even enjoyed looking down at the water. He's the kind who won't look out the second floor windows at home!
