FEA Standby Wait Times in Evening

We will be in EP on the last Saturday in August. We are arriving that day post-cruise, so I will not be able to do RD that day. My DS8 really wants to do Soarin' and has no interest in FEA, so my plan right now is to FP+ Soarin, spend some time in EP, drop him off at the Sandcastle Club and then go back to EP in the late afternoon/evening for FEA. I don't mind standing in line, I'm just wondering what I should expect in terms of wait times and if later in the evening might be better? For instance, should I go around Illuminations time?

I do have a FEA FP+ for the next day, but I'm now trying to consolidate our EP touring into one day so we can spend the next day at the pool and not burn a park ticket just to ride FEA.

Now that Soarin has 3 theaters, Soarin standby waits are generally lower than FEA.

The FEA line will likely be a bit shorter during illumniations (as long as the park is still open and not closing before Illumniations. ).
Last night (It was EMH that started at 9p) we got in the FEA line about 9:12 during the last few minutes of I, and the 75 min posted wait was a real 35 minute wait.

Last week we went during EMH, Illuminations was postponed and hour because of weather, we watched that then hit the ride, we waited about 20 minutes. All day long the posted wait time was 75 minutes or more.

Thanks everyone! I think I will FP+ Soarin and do FEA standby late that night. I just checked wait times and Soarin' is at 60 minutes and it appears FEA is down, so I'd be happy to cut DS8's wait time on Soarin' down and take my chances with FEA. Thanks so much for your insight!
