FE Groups?

So I know it's been a while, but I am not seeing where there are any FE groups for different cruises. Are they on here? The FE gift groups still exist right?? Sorry if this is a dumb question

They're pretty much just on the Facebook groups for each cruise now. (Just not enough DISboard people taking the same cruise to make groups.) As an FYI, DISboards doesn't allow posting of the actual Facebook group links. Usually you can find them by putting in the ship and date info. We don't do FE, (and I usually don't do the Facebook cruise groups) but I did join the Facebook group for our last cruise as it was leaving from England and I could learn more about our departure port from that group than on here.

ok, thanks for the info! It's been a while since I have been on DCL, so I wanted to get involved in a group to make my teenage daughter still feel special on the ship.

Yes, FE groups still exist, but I don't think as much as in the past. You need to head over to the Cruise Meets forum and search for your cruise to see if a group has been started for your cruise. That's where FEs are handled.

HOW DID THIS FISH EXTENDER IDEA GET STARTED?
The idea was the brainstorm of a woman named Debbie For the first Magical sailing through the Panama Canal back in 2005. Debbie thought it would be a fun way for others to exchange gifts.

WHAT IS A FISH EXTENDER? (FE)
Outside your room onboard is a message holder, in most cases it's shaped like a fish (but can be a starfish or sea horse)
The fish is there for Disney to place important communications to you such as excursion tickets and notes from the Cruise staff. It is like a mailbox for your room. A Fish Extender (FE) it is something that you hang off the fish, much like a pocketed organizer.

By hanging the Fish Extender off of the fish, the Cast Members can still use it for its original purpose.

Once a cruise meet thread is up and running, someone in the group will (should?) step up and say "I'll maintain the Fish Extender exchange list". That person is the center point for all those who want to participate in the exchange. The list can be as simple as DISnames/room number/number of guests or as involved as full names/room number/ages of guests/like & dislikes/allergies/favorite characters/whatever is deemed necessary to know assemble the gifts.

The truth is FE on Disboards is basically dead. Look at any of the cruise meet groups and you'll see the participation level is pretty dismal. As mentioned above if you head to the other social media site I'm 100% certain you'll find a group started and very active. Both my groups there for Aug and Sep next year have active groups with FE groups already started! FE is very much alive and well there

I have even posted links to here in my cruise social media group. However, FE and cruise group activity has declined significantly here. I always join a group or start one here, but the last 3 have been dead.
