FD w/AAA

My price from my CAA agent this morning is exactly the same as the price I am being quoted by Disney...no additional discounts.

But, there are the little throw-ins which are nice (Story Time and Diamond Parking Pass)

No surprise here...

Disney does not 'stack' discounts. Your AAA agent can use their code OR the Free Dining code, he or she can't use both.

I have purchased 3 FD trips (2005, 2006, 2007) through AAA and not one has included the room discount. It doesn't happen. Disney's reservation system doesn't allow for it, and yes, your AAA agent MUST call Disney to book your package.

There was one poster on the DIS boards (in 2006) who claimed to have received a double discount (in 2005) but never provided evidence to that effect, though it was requested.

yeah, I don't think that will work. When we had a free dining code in December, we lost our AAA discount. It still saved us lots of money though!

My AAA TA told me it would apply to get both room discounts and free dining on Fri., so we booked everything. Then today when she added free dining she called me back and said, "oh I'm so sorry they aren't letting us do the 2 discounts anymore, but they did last year". It ended up being another $263 extra per room. IT WAS TERRIBLE. HOPE THIS ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS. I HAD EVEN POSTED SOMETHING EARLIER SAYING YOU COULD DO THIS BECAUSE OF WHAT SHE HAD TOLD ME IN THE FIRST PLACE. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN IT WAS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

Well you should have listened to me:] Not your AAA agent. Theyve NEVER been able to stack discounts but she's a good salesperson, she got you to book anyway

My complaint about AAA in general, is that while they claim to be 'Disney Vacation Specialists', they (on average) know less than the average person on the DIS boards. I have only ever gone through Disney direct or used AAA, almost tried one of the 'disney only agencies' this time but ended back up at AAA for a few of the perks. I was able to look at my resort reservation yesterday signing onto Disney as a guest.

BTW - the printout that AAA gave me yesterday didn't show FD, so she called Disney and confirmed it and typed it in (boy, that makes me feel comfortable). Disney says they can't tell me the details (like tickets and dining) on the reservation.

Ive also noticed most AAA agents know less then the average guest.

And yes, Disney wont discuss the res with you because technically its not even yours. Its owned by your TA, they just happened to make it for you

I have a great AAA agent. Generally, I will book my FD reservation, pay it off, then transfer it over to AAA for the final days so I can take advantage of the perks.

Not sure if all printouts by different AAA agents are the same, but the one we got after booking the free dining indicated that we had booked the DDP (but did not mention it was free). However, the total price we owed was about $500 less than what the original booking was for - so I know we got it.

Did the printout mention the dining plan at all? If it mentioned the plan, but did not mention it was free, I would not worry. If it did not mention the plan at all, I'd be checking it out some more.
