This may have been answered but I didn't see it. If by some chance I am able to get FD I have heard that recently you have to purchase at least 2-PH tickets to qualify. Ok, if I reserve my resort with just the bare minimum of 2 tickets and then maybe get a good deal through Orbitz or somewhere later, can I add those Orbitz tickets to the current FD reservation without needing to cancel and rebook the whole thing? or if I don't find a deal and just have to buy additional days through WDW does it constitute enough of a change for a rebook and possible loss of FD/resort room?

Thanks

I'm not sure if I understand your question. You can add tickets from an outside vendor like Orbitz to your MDE account without affecting your package because you wouldn't be adding the outside tickets to your room reservation, you would be adding them to your MDE account. And your account would show that you have two sets of tickets.

But this would cost more than just adding days to the park hopper because tickets are front loaded, getting cheaper as you add days.

an example of buying additional tickets from an outside vendor and adding them to a package -for 5 days of tickets

2 day park hopper - $273.71
3 day tickets from outside vendor - not PH - approx $200
total - $473.71

5 day ph from Disney - $435.59

Thanks for your reply :)

The reason I was asking is I have seen Orbitz have deals like buy 3 get 2 free with PH and Water Parks and More.

At least I have seen that deal one time in the past. It still might be cheaper to go through WDW for it all because of the price drop with more days you buy. I just thought I would check if it even was a possibility.

:thanks:

Just adding ticket days to a Disney package won't change your promotion or cause it to be re-booked, it's just an add on. Buying separate tickets in addition to the 2PH requirement would be kind of expensive if you expect to use both sets of tickets for this trip since the Disney park tickets are front loaded in price, meaning the first few days cost much more than adding extra days. So purchasing from an outside ticket vendor even at a slight discount you'd still be paying a high rate for the first few days of those tickets too.

If you SAVE those 2PH tickets for another 2 day trip and use just the separately purchased tickets for this trip then that would make sense. You just have to do the math to see what your real costs would be.

We often take weekend trips, so for last year's trip booked just a 3PH (we usually have 3 park days) with our FD package, but assigned them to phantom family on our MDE on our check in day when those tickets were activated so they wouldn't be automatically used at park entrance. Could not assign before that since the 3PH was not yet activated. We then used a 10 day ticket during our two week stay that we had purchased separately and attached to our MDE.

So to get free dining you only have to have a 2 day park hopper? Not the length of your stay? I've never done free dining and trying to figure this all out

I think that is speculation, since the deal hasn't been released yet, we don't know what it will be. I think maybe they did that last time?

It could obviously change at any time, but a day 2 minimum ticket has been the norm for the past several years. They added the mandatory PH or WPFM addition last year.

Safe assumption would be a 2 day PH or WPFM ticket.

Ok... Thank you!! Like I said i have never booked free dining and thinking about doing it if itnis offered for our dates in the fall. Just trying to wrap my brain around it. Lol

Just as an aside, while Danny is posting here's a 2 day minimum, the Canadian website is showing details of the offer with a 3 day minimum ticket.

I'd run numbers on both.
