I remember seeing somewhere on the boards a fax sheet you could use for your room request. Can someone point me to the right direction? Thanks

Was that a few years ago?
Most people will now tell you that the hotels are not using the fax requests any longer. The best bet seems to be to be sure that your requests are entered on your original confirmation form. Once CRO transfers the reservations to the individual hotels, this is what the room assigners use to determine requests.
I understand that some folks continue to fax requests, but the majority do not believe they are being used now.

I think this is the information you are looking for, http://allearsnet.com/acc/cro1.htm . I'd definitely only do this as a follow up though. Make sure your requests are noted on your reservation and arrive early if you can. In most cases, rooms aren't assigned until you show up anyway. The earlier your there, the more options you'll have.

I ALWAYS fax a room request. Better than 50% of the time I have gotten exactly what I asked for (but I do try to be reasonable.) Got to allears (as you have already been told) and fax it four days before your check in--that is when most room assignments are made. Be polite and concise in your request. I hope it goes well for you!

There doesn't appear to be any set policy for each resort and how they make their room assignments. Many are no longer done until you actually arrive at the desk. It definitely doesn't hurt to followup with a fax though. I'm just not sure how much they're looked at anymore or if it's simply added work for that department to try and match up the fax with a reservation and verify the requests are the same.

1) I know some room assigners that trash fax requests.
2) I know some room assigners that read and try to honor fax requests.
3) I know some resorts that trash fax requests.
4) I know some resorts that read and try to honor fax requests.

5) I figure that fax requests are the Chicken Soup of ressies.
6) Even with requests on the ressie, it doesn't hurt to try a fax.
