Fax or not Fax

I have read from some CMs that faxing room requests is frowned upon now. Any CMs out there that can help me with this? I don't want to fax a room request if it will make the resort mad.

My fax request to the BWI for 8/15 arrival was very well received. I saw a similar post for this question quite recently so you might do a search on FAX.
