What are your favourite souvenirs from the WDW parks or Downtown Disney?

I've heard some great suggestions in threads, and so far I'd like to get a Mr. Potato Head, a pearl in Japan, and a Chinese fan.

What is your favourite souvenir? (Or your family members' favourites?)

I got theh kids "Guest of Honor" name tags when we were there last. They look just like the CM name tags but they are red. Really Cute!!! You can get them in the Christmas Shop at Downtown Disney. You can see one in the pic of my daughter under my signature.:earsboy: :earseek:

My kids love to get snowglobes. We pick one up on each trip to the world. We just got back from Disneyland and we were surprised that they had snowglobes for the different Magic Kingdom rides. We picked up "it's a small world", Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion snowglobes. They are tiny and play the music from the ride. They are cute and we hadn't seen them before. I wonder if WDW will carry them as well!

Mickey's,Castle's we loVe the crystal you can get at MK and Epcot.::yes:: :wave2:

I love snowglobes, too! I have several for Christmas, the Haunted Mansion, and the one with Cinderella's castle. I also have a small replica of the Tree of Life. I'm trying to find something special to represent each park. I still need something from Epcot and MGM. Suggestions? I also have many mugs, but I've run out of cabinet room. Plus my pen collection keeps growing, but I really enjoy using them everyday!! Of course, my drawers are filled with tshirts, sweatshirts, and fleece pullovers, but I've scaled back on the clothing.

pressed pennies! cheap and fun to give away ( for example gave a Norway one to a friend who "hates" malestrom)

funny story..the houskeepers kept leaving soap and shampoo wether i took them or not so last day finally took them and ended up with 20 or so. when we got home i decided to give them to little kids I know since they have Mickey on them. one mother told me they only use liquid soap so her son (3yrs) loves using our bathroom and it's different bar soap..i gave him his choice of 2, thinking he'd take a facial bar( small) and bath bar( big). he however "wisely" took 2 bath bars since "they are bigger and would last longer"! lots of other little ones loved them too! who would have thought it! now that's a cheap gift!

I too always take the soap, and found that small children just love them! I actually started always taking the soap and stuff when ever I stay at a hotel and found that I was never using it so bagged it all up and gave it to a homeless and womans shelter in the area, which they were really grateful for! I just felt that someone could use it! But I never give the Mickey stuff to anyone but little kids!

My fave from this trip is a kids tee with 3 of the Princesses on it, I found it at the gift shop at Vero Beach. It's yellow, and fits me like a baby tee, and I LOVE IT.

Last year, my fave was a pink vintage look baby tee with the Mickey Mouse club logo on the front. I'm wearing it right now, actually.

Other faves are our personalized "beer mugs" from Germany, with the German Mickey and Minnie on them. DH has Mickey, I have Minnie, of course. We keep them in the freezer and they're great with a big glass of coke =) You get them at that glass kiosk outside, and you can watch them personalize it =)

My all time favorite are the photo albums with the years on them...they change the design a bit year to year, but they are all quite similar. Just the other night my son brought out all the dated albums and we were looking through the pictures and how he has changed from year to year...nice when they have the date on the album as we always know what year it was.

I buy myself a watch for everytrip. I enjoy wearing them and always get asked where I got them. We bought the monorail on our last trip. We love to put in around the christmas tree and hear the "Stand clear" !!

I got a nice Mickey clip watch on my last trip. I had been looking for a nice one for a while & just couldn't find what I was looking for. When I saw Mickey, I knew I found what I was waiting for!

I am also an avid photographer, so getting the characters & my husband together in a photo are great souvenirs. Several trips ago I got 2 mats - one that had a castle outline & one a Mickey outline - in the photo shop on the right of Main Street as you enter the Magic Kingdom. The "typical" photo of me & my husband standing on Main Street with the castle in the background is in the mat with the castle, in a regular frame, & it looks great! I'll check for more on my next trip.

A CD Soundtrack of WDW music. We bought our 1st during the Millenium celebration. For many months after we got home, whenever I needed a "lift", I'd pop in the CD and listen to the music from Illuminations and Tapestry of Dreams parade. Never failed to lift my spirits -- the next best thing to being there!!!
:teeth:

My picture frames! They make such cute picture frames, and I have one with the castle, a 4 parks 1 world, a 2003....they're just super cute and I love them...Another that I loved was my bag I got...it's one of the backpacks that cinches at the top and it has the "Capture the Magic" logo on it. It came in super handy while we were down there and it's been fun to carry around home too. Pins are great, and I love my Mickey Mouse club sweatshirt (wanted the baby tee, but unfortunately I'm too tall to wear even the large...)

A funny little story: I got a cute Tink purse at Wal-Mart before our trip in March. I carried it to DTD our first night before switching into my new Mickey bag. People KEPT coming up and complimenting my purse and asking where I'd bought it, wanting one for themselves. I paid $12 for this bag, and the similar ones there were going for $26 and up. As soon as I told people, they were putting theirs down and waiting till they got home for the cute Tink bag!

Like you, I love the Mr. Potato Heads. I really like the Disney Bears (the ones with Mickey heads on their paws). We have several different colors now and picked up a "My first Disney Bear" this trip. I try to always pick up earrings or a necklace. When we still had our Disney store, they didn't carry jewelry. I always bring home a set of pens. It makes me smile every time I take a phone message. :)

I also bring all the Mickey soaps home, but I donate them to a local women's shelter. It's designed for battered wives, so there are a lot of children living there, too. I like to think the Mickey soaps are a treat for those kids.

Photo albums, and Disney scrapbooking goodies have been my latest souvies. Other than that it's the traditional Mickey coffee mug for my collection.:drinking1

I love my plush (i think) Mickey i got..its not the small one, but its not the big one...its the medium sized one i guess. And also, i LOVE my pin i got that says "Where Magic Lives", and also my charm bracelets with the castle, mickey, minni, mickey's hand, and tinkerbell on it.

hmm i like to take a set of maps home. As for other things i bought a nice watch before i really like that. It was a nice man's dress watch with a mickey face... literally ha

The very best souvenir that we got was at Magic Kingdom. Just down Main street, I think across the street from teh emporium is a guy who does either pastel portraits, or those black adn white cut out silhouettes. I cant' remember the exact price but it's like $6 per child in the picture and tehn another $6 for the frame. It only took about 3 minutes for him to snip out all 3 of my kids into one picture adn that included a very energetic 4 year old!! When he did his clipping he did a second picture at the same time and so we were able to get a 2nd set up for only the cost of the frame. It is truly a wonderful picture and we wish we'd been doing them every year. Also makes an awesome grandparent's christmas gift!!
