We are determined in September to try out a little more variety in terms of off site dining in the evenings, ideally a bit more appealing than Ponderosa!

We have had quite good experiences in Houlihans, Outback, Hooters and a few others but would like recommendations for lets say a top 3 must visit list of restaurants which are child (8,7 and 2) friendly. Location is not an issue as long as its within 30 mins drive or so of Kissimmee/I-Drive

One we have pencilled in after the comments on this board is The Cheesecake Factory at MAM but any other recommendations would be gratefully received.

PS......Not Gourmet Pricing either (Ideally less than $30pp)

dident think hooters was a family place

If I had to pick 3 they would be:

1. Red Lobster. Excellent food. The seafood is amazing but the non seafood is also good. I can speak very highly of the cocktails too ;) I think we paid $80 for 4 adults and 2 children to have entrees & puddings as well as drinks.

2. The Outback (which you mention above) I love it here - the food, the atmosphere, the servers - all great!

3. Perkins - cheap and cheerful but a very extensive menu and very cheap.

I found the best thing about the Outback was the huge beers in properly frosted mugs......Ideal after a hard day at MK.

Oh yes....and not forgettting the Blooming Onion :teeth:

Favourite 3 eating places.
1.Olive Garden. 2. Cheescake Factory. 3. Bahama Breeze.

Considering your family needs, I would say to try:

* TGI Fridays much improved on last visit (& miles better than UK version)
* Olive Garden
* Bennigans

Not my favourites all round, but a step up from Ponderosa!

The one offsite restaurant we all ways visit with our kids is longhorns Steak House the best steaks I have ever tasted: 5351 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, Kissimmee, FL 34746-4711

Would agree with the posts about Olive Garden - one of the best Italian places I've eaten at that I didn't have to take a second mortgage out to go to! Just don't fill up on the free breadsticks before your main course arrives (like I normally do...)

The Cheesecake factory - at Winter Park mall. Prefer this one to the one at Millenia because it is bigger, less crowded and has mostly locals in it.

Definitely Tony Romas. Their ribs are fantastic.

Wild Jacks for steak (and the Jack Daniels chocolate cake - I defy you to eat a whole piece :rotfl: )

DH also really liked Bahama Breeze but I wasn't that keen - each to their own though.

Just re-read your original question and have to include Denny's - v child friendly, massive range of stuff, cheap and cheerful. We found the one next to the massive McDonalds on I-Drive was the best.

Our fave Top 3

1. Olive Garden Great Food & Service
2. Maccaroni grill Great Food & a little cheaper than Olive Garden
3. Chili's American/Tex Mex at a very good price. Our kids
love the corn on the cob

For a reallt cheap meal when the kids are very hungry, but want all sorts of things try the Golden Coral by marker 5 on the 192. We prefer to the one at LBV. Lots of choice for kids & adults

We went to the Outback for the first time last trip, and am gutted we never tried it before, it was just fantastic food.....it will be the first place we go for a meal next May.
We also enjoy TGI Fridays, and last time a balloon twisting guy came to the table and made animals for the 2 girls, and they loved it....great family atmosphere, and the staff we have had have always seemed like they really enjoy working there.
I also quite like Bennigans, particularly during the football season, where I can go watch my beloved Packers whilst enjoying a decent meal.

Our DD absolutley loved Chillis on I Drive (DH loved it too as the beers were BOGOF).

TONY ROMAS IS A MUST.

Other goodies include:

Rainforest Cafe
Daryalls (although I dont think its there anymore)

I'm a bit bored of Chillis as the wife always insists on visiting there when we are staying with the Outlaws in Berkshire.

The other recommendations sound great, just that now I have a shortlist of about 10!

Another vote for Tony Romas and Olive Garden. Both great.

DS loved Race Rock on I Drive as well

Our favourites are:

1. The Longhorn on the 192 (good steaks, delicious hot bread brought to the table whilst you wait for your meal, lovely cheesecakes which they will do "to go" if you can't quite fit them in at the time! :rotfl:)

2. Bennigans (nice food and atmosphere)

3. IHOP (we like the one near Old Town on the 192) DH had the best steak he's ever had here (and he's had a lot of steaks!) :rotfl2: and it was accompanied by 3 big pancakes on the side for around $8!

We also like The Golden Corral as the best all-you-can-eat.

one thats not a main meal but one of our favs is to get some Kripie Kream doununts from hess to walmart and have them for brekkie or after dinner in the waterpark(we usaly take in sanwiches)
