Favourite Burger Joints

Cook-Out is hands down my favorite! :worship: They are mostly in NC, though they also just opened a store in Atlanta and have some in SC I think.

Such great hamburgers and even better fries. And a wonderful selection of milkshakes.

We have one here in Newport News, VA too. It ALWAYS has a line in the drive-thru, lol.

For fast food, Runza is my favorite cheeseburger!

For other chains - I like Cheeseburger in Paradise. We have a 5 Guys but it's not convenient so I haven't tried them yet. I like Smashburger for their grilled chicken sandwiches but don't like the flavor of the burgers.

There are also some good local joints.

Fast Food:
In-N-Out

Restaurant quality in OC:
Unami Burger, Slater's 50/50 & TK Burger

Restaurant quality in DFW:
Village Burger Bar, Maple & Motor & Good Friend

PRO-TIP:
If you like spicy, try this - get a side of mayo & sriracha, mix 2/3 mayo, 1/3 sriracha - it makes a yummy dip for regular fries & it is absolutely glorious with sweet potato fries! Everyone that I've suggested it to for sweet potato fries has said it was a game changer.

Local places:

- Sooner Dairy Lunch
- Cow Calf-Hay
- The Garage
- Earl's Rib Palace

The Burger Bar in San Francisco is amazing. I went there a handful of times in 2010, and tried something new each time I went, and was impressed each time. So delicious. Be prepared, though, the burgers are quite large. I had a hard time biting into them, so I had to cut them in half and kind of squish them down before I could take a bite. The Kobe beef burger was my favorite (though I recognize it's not 'real' Kobe beef). The sliders are good, too.

Le Tub in Ft Lauderdale, FL has some pretty stellar burgers. They're GINORMOUS, though. You could probably split one between two people, lol. Plus, you can't beat sitting outside at a picnic table along the Intercoastal Waterway.

My favorite burger on the planet is In-N-Out. If I were on death row, I would ask for an In-N-Out double double with animal style fries and a chocolate shake as my last meal.

I can't stand Five Guys. Their burgers are WAY too greasy. Five Guys burgers taste like heart disease to me.

I'm OK with all of the above depending on my mood. One that's interesting is Fatburger. It's a Southern California chain but one with locations around the West Coast.

As for Burger Bar, I see the sign at the elevator when I go to Macy's Union Square. The other elevator at the entrance is for Cheesecake Factory. Of course the place my kid really wants to go to is the Disney Store. I didn't find the Las Vegas location to be odd, since it seems every big name chef is trying out some location in Vegas. San Francisco is where Hubert Keller has been based for over 30 years, so that makes sense. Beijing doesn't make sense other than there's a lot of disposable income and a place like that could be a place that's considered an exotic and expensive place to show off wealth.

Locally:
Wimpy's & Dairy Delight

Chain:
Too many, but definitely Cheeburger Cheeburger, Fudrucker's, Red Robin.

5 guys is good, but not great IMO. Comparable to Culvers or Steak N Shake.

Cheeburger Cheeburger is a little pricey for what you get. But, I love the toppings choices and also love the fact they'll sell you a really good burger that is "just right sized" for one. At Red Robin, either DW or I have to compromise on what we want because we always split a burger.

5-8 Club (Juicy Lucy!)
Bierstube
Dariette

I've never had a burger at the Dari-ette. I always eat chicken or something Italian. I will have to try a burger there.

B.Y.O.B. is our new favorite burger place. Love that you can pick how you want it cooked: grilled or char-broiled, pick your bun, pick your toppings. The onion rings are pretty darn good too.

In Michigan - Clyde's Drive-In

Our favorite is in Sault Ste. Marie, but we also like the one in St. Ignace and I think there is one in Manistique too that we've had burgers at.

Loved The Remedy in Harrison, they had an awesome olive burger with a grilled bun, so good, but sadly the restaurant burned down a year or so ago and they didn't rebuild it.
