Favorite treat from Germany/Karamel Kuche

When there, we had caramel corn, marshmallow/caramel swirl and a chocolate/caramel strawberry. I love, love, LOVED the marshmallow/caramel swirl, liked the strawberry and the caramel corn was ok. I think all the hype over the caramel corn led me to think it was going to be the best thing in the world and when that happens, it's usually a let down.

When did this shop open?? We have been to Epcot hundreds of times especially Germany (love the beer), and I have never seen this shop. Needless to say dd saw the pictures of the cup cakes and questioned me about this place and how come we never went there.

Exactly my question! I was thinking how in the world could I have missed this all these years. I too was going to blame it on the beer.

I was there last October, but I must have been distracted by all the food booths during F&W.

Thanks Capt Stitch for having the guts to ask!

My last trip was in '09, so I'm really looking forward to trying this place (in 12 days!)

People seem to be saying they got caramel corn with a snack credit, but I thought I'd read it wasn't available as a snack credit. Is it one of those "if you catch the right CM" credits?

We had a small bag as a snack credit a couple of weeks ago. Our favorite was the chocolate and caramel covered pretzel sticks. DS loved the caramel filled chocolate cookie.

I needed to save face with dd she almost disowned me and threatened me with no more beer :lmao: . It was the first day of F&W and our last day there so if it did open on Oct 1 I was probably bummed there was 15 years of 15 beers and I could only have a few, driving home the next day with 3 seniors wouldn't be pretty with a fuzzy head.

We went there when we were at the F&W festival on the first weekend last year. We made a special trip to the caramel shop because I love sweets and I'd read this shop had just opened (maybe a month before the 2010 festival?)

I was at WDW this past Sept, again in Dec, and again in May. I had to stop in at the Karamel Kuche every trip at least once or twice. Love this place. My favorite item thus far though are the apple oatmeal caramel cookies.:cloud9: I also like the chocolate covered caramel cashew clusters though. I'll be back in 17 days to try some more. Yum!!!

We too were there for opening weekend. We got to WDW on Sept. 27th and I was really hoping that KK was already open. Rumor had it that they may have opened as early as Sept. 22nd but when we got to EPCOT the evening of Sept. 29th here's what we saw...

I was able to get this photo through the window that night. There was a small gap where the paper wasn't. Pristine Kitchen. I believe that maybe caramel corn I see to the left. ;)

So it obviously hadn't opened early. Turns out it opened Sept. 30th, just in time for opening day of F&WF on Friday, Oct. 1st. As I previously posted on the 1st the store was really crowded. Couldn't get anywhere near the food. We planned on coming back later but didn't make it.

We will make up for that this next trip.

My favorite shop in Epcot!

+1 the Caramel Corn. Would Highly recommend waiting for a fresh batch to be made and ask for some of it. Really entertaining watching them go thru the whole process!

Also LOVE the Chocolate covered, caramel drizzled Rice Krispie Treat. (NOT the one without chocolate). The combination of chocolate with the caramel is perfect!

Interestingly, speaking with several of the behind the glass servers, they liked the pretzel rods best!

Enjoy some for me!

Interesting! The previous picture I posted was taken on October 1st at 12:15 p.m. I didn't go in then, but there was no one in there. The second picture I posted was on Monday, October 4th around 12:30 p.m. and the only other person in there was the girl standing beside me. It must be the best time to go in the hour or two after WS opens.

OOHH do I see white and regular chocolate covered pretzels? Those are my fave! Are they drizzed with caramel or covered with caramel then chocolate dipped? lol

I just looked at my photo and the time stamp is around 3:30 on the 1st. It was pretty crowded. I'm thinking it won't be so bad this time, since it's no longer new but then again there will be a lot of guests there using their SC. Since the free DDP starts to wind down just as we get there (we are checking in on the last day to get it 10/8) I expect to see the crowds thin down a little. And we will definitely check it out early in the day.

I was in there on Christmas Eve just before Illuminations and there was a steady stream of people, but not really crowded. The caramel popcorn was too hot to be served, so I just paid for my order, 5 bags I was taking home to family, and they had them ready for me when I went back after Illuminations.

The chocolate covered strawberries drizzled with caramel are THE BEST I have ever had, even better than the ones from the Main Street Confectionary. They are full 3 bites and just perferct ( I hate the ones that the chocolate make mushy).I like to get a couple before we find our spot for Illuminations.

The shop smells heavenly and we always stop in at least twice each trip. Caramel popcorn is always a favorite along with the chocolate covered caramel.

We did get the vanilla cupcake. Don't let it sit too long unwatched. I thought the icing was a bit much. I had to take some of it off. Could use more drizzle I think ;)
