We're going home to BCV (for the first time!!!) in a couple of weeks.

I"ve only been to the Boardwalk area once, and that was to see the DVC model rooms at BWV. Looking forward to strolling around the area, and of course trying that awesome looking slide at SAB.

We've planned a few nice meals already: Yachtman's Steakhouse (for a honkin' piece of beef!), Flying Fish Cafe', Rose n' Crown Pub (the doctor says I'm not getting enough Guiness), and breakfast at Cape Mae's.

What's your favorite place to eat/to do around the boardwalk? Thanks!!! Happy Mardi Gras:jester:

We Love to come back from the fireworks at Epcot and have a Sundae at B&C.Actually we love to eat there anytime. We also like Spoodles and the Yachtsman galley for breakfast.Almost forgot about Cape Mays clam bake all you can eat dinner,It was great. You can tell we Love nothing more than eating:teeth:

Big River Grille is a MUST for me. Nice brewery and pretty good food. Love that meatloaf. Each time we go and will be going again in a month.

We just loved strolling around at night taking in the scenery, lights, people. every night they had some form of entertainment (jugglers etc.) that were fun to watch. there was even this piano/bicycle contraption a CM was riding and playing. LOTS of fun!

Walking the loop around the hotels from the Boardwalk over to the Swan/Dolphin and onto the Yacht/Beach Club and back again is wonderful. Especially in the evening when it's warm. It's .79 of a mile around so it makes for a nice stroll, especially if you stop along the way.

Jellyrolls, Boardwalk Bakery (my favorite), ESPN club for a nightcap. Everything.:smooth:

We love Beaches & Cream (everything is big enough to share & take out is quick if you want to eat in room) & Stormalong Bay is awesome. We rented the bicycles on the Boardwalk, DH & I pedaled while the kids rode in the front and rang the bell, it was fun but a true workout - don't do it if you are exhausted from the parks. DH liked walking over to ESPN club. If you want to do something cheap, sit out on the beach and feed the ducks, some will eat out of your hand, DD loved this. BCV is our favorite location, we are not owners but hope to be in the next couple of years - this is definitely where we will buy. Have a Great trip!!!

Our favorite place to eat in the Boardwalk area is Spoodle's. The have wonderful food for breakfast and dinner. Yachtsman Steakhouse is a very close second. You will love your meal there.

We love to buy a crepe on a stick or some other snack from a cart or the bakery and find a bench by the water. We can sit there for hours watching the people, the boats, the water .. it is just magicall!

Have a great time!:sunny:

My sons and I have stayed at Boardwalk five times now and wouldn't miss lunch or late night at ESPN; sideline fries are sooo good and the Buffalo Wings are the best. Spoodles is also terrific, aside from the screaming baby at the table next to us but we'll forget about him before we forget about the food.

The bakery is awesome; nothing better than a cup of coffee and cinamon roll on my balcony early in the morning as the sun comes up over EPCOT. No better way to start the day.

I also love to sit on the boardwalk and just watch. I love to sit anywhere in WDW and watch.

Have a great trip.

All of the aforementioned are why we bought at the Boardwalk. Being from NJ, the Boardwalks (Wildwood, Ocean City, and even Cape May's little downtown area) were a large part of our youth. None of the other Vacation Club locations offer what this resort does.

Belmawr Bob!:)

I agree with the VWL five- that meatloaf at the grille is fantastic. I had it for the first time in JAnuary when we stayed at BWV's. It was delicious and there was alot of it! 3 pieces of meatloaf nad a plate full of mashed potatoes and veggies- you could easily split it with you DH for a very big dinner! When we were hter we had a great room that overlooked the boardwalk and it was great. My favorite thing to do? Sit on the bench and watch the people as they go by- soooo fun! Walking the loop is fun too!

My favorites at the boardwalk are:
Eating at Flying Fish and ordering the Seared NY Strip Steak--the BEST steak I have ever had. Pair this wonderful entree with the crab cake appetizer, one of their wonderful desserts and you will be in heaven.

Eating at Big River Grill and ordering the meatloaf. Yes, it is that good! Getting a table overlooking the boardwalk on a nice evening is especially nice.

Having goodies from the Boardwalk Bakery or Seashore Sweets while sitting at a table on the boardwalk by the water either as a early breakfast or a late night snack.

Sitting on my BWV balcony at all times of the day just soaking up the magical atmosphere of this wonderful resort.

Watching Illuminations and Fantasmic fireworks from our balcony.

Walking back from Epcot or MGM and seeing the boardwalk all lit up and in it's splendor.

Relaxing in the very quiet and private hot tub at the quiet pool on the villas side.

Going to Jellyrolls!!!!!!!!!!

Having a leisurely drink at the Bellvue Lounge.

Sitting on the rockers off the lobby just people watching.

The utilmate and complete convenience, ease and vacation pampering this resort location gives us.

Watching and hearing the Friendship boats on Crescent Lake.

Walking around the whole Epcot resort loop and taking in the breathtaking atmosphere of these resorts.

Being able to see Spaceship Earth and parts of the WS glowing in the night from our BWV.

Relaxing at Luna Park and visiting with some of the CMs at the pool bar who have been there for years.

Finding hidden Mickeys in the carpet, laughing and just compeletely enjoying life with my family and friends as we walk the sometimes lengthy walks to our villa.

Everything mentioned above is great. We enjoy using the fitness centers.

Best of all...just relax and have a good time. The atmosphere is great! Enjoy!!

I like renting the surrey bikes. My dad, now, he likes getting up early in the morning for a workout at the fitness center and then the best part of his vacation is the vacation in its self. Sitting on the beach reading his USA Today watching the few people out for a run or walk, and just relaxing. He said, " It sets the tone for the day!)

We love the Boardwalk and there are many things we like to do in this area:

1 - Get sweets from Boardwalk Bakery
2 - Watch the Boardwalk entertainment (jugglers, musicians, etc.)
3 - Drink a beer sitting outside of Big River
4 - Karaoke at Kimonos (Swan)
5 - Atlantic Dance Hall
6 - Walk around the Lake and people watch

One thing I haven't tried is the surrey bike. DH and I would love to do that! :)

Here's my favorite thing. Early in the morning, before DW and kids are awake, I get a USA Today or Journal from the front desk and walk down to the Bakery for a donut and coffee. This is usually before 7 am when they start blaring the music on the BW. Then I go up to the Bellevue Room (that little library type room on the BWI side) and sit at one of the tables and read the paper and listen to old radio shows for about 40 minutes or so. I am usually all by my lonesome. A very relaxing start to the day.

Spoodles is a must for dinner -- great atmosphere - kid friendly -- the waitstaff is wonderful and a pitcher of Sangria can go a long way after a day at the parks..... the boardwalk area is filled with fun things -- hair wraps for those with little girls.... face painting .... a huge candy store (attached to Spoodles) that's filled with all sorts of delicious treats ..... also right outside the Boardwalk Villas is the Wyland Galleries (careful with toddlers in there) -- with dolphin sculptures, paintings of sealife, etc., etc. --- one of the coolest things that happened when we were there over Christmas was right outside the BWV there was a cast member wandering around with a banjo --- just strolling along serenading the crowds... my 4 yo son (who loves Toy Story) was loving life when the cast member just walked up to him and started singing "You've Got a Friend in Me." It was adorable .... starting to miss everything already ...be back in March for more fun and Spring Training..............::MickeyMo

I like Flying Fish and DS loves to go to Jelly Rolls.

If you have young girls with you, or girl's that are young at heart, they can get their hair wrapped on the Boardwalk. This is dd's favorite thing to do. I personally like the Ice cream shop, Seashore Sweets at the end of the day.
