Favorite server on the Magic???

We always wondered if we ended up with a Hungarian service team, since my husband's family name is Hungarian (his Dad is from Hungary). Our server was Zoran--his wife also worked on the ship, but we never met her--she was sick. And the head server was a pretty blonde girl also from Hungary--cannot remember her name... our assistant server, Pema, was also fabulous! But to this day, our son talks about Zoran (he was only 4 on that cruise 2 years ago) and all the special things he did. On the very last night, DS was finally sick of all the eating and the rich desserts. When Zoran asked him what he wanted for dessert, he piped up with "NOTHING!!! I want NOTHING for dessert!" You could tell he'd had enough and just wanted to go play. A couple of minutes later, Zoran returns with the dessert tray for the rest of us, then puts on a HUGE display as he brings over DS's dessert--a huge covered platter... as he removes the cover, announcing a huge "VOILA!" he gives my son his plate of NOTHING. It was a large plate, on which he had written NOTHING in beautiful script with chocolate syrup, and then decorated the plate with all kids of sprinkles, candies, and the like. It was amazing, and my son was thoroughly impressed, as were the rest of us. They were all fabulous.

MARCO from Italy is the best. He was our server for both brunch and dinner at Palo. If you get him as your server, just make sure that you are very hungry and that you don't eat too much of one thing. He kept bringing out more food for us to try (in addition to what we ordered).

GLENDENE (server from Trinadad) and JOY (assistant server from India) were an awesome team. They we so nice and made every meal perfect.

PAOLA (assistant server last year from Mexico) was also great. It was fun to run into her again this year.

On our cruise last May we had Leeroy and Lisa.

can anyone who is going on the Magic see if you can find out if these 2 are still on the ship. We are going in Nov 06 and would like to request them.


He was from Jamaica and she was from Scotland.

There are two servers that I've had on the Magic that I would highly recommend to others. Phillip from Croatia (we had him 4-5 years ago). Not only was he a great server but he kept us well entertained. I've heard he may be a head server now. The other great server we had on the Magic was Stipe from Croatia on the 10-Day Christmas cruise. I really missed him on the westbound repo cruise but have heard he's back. He was an excellent server and worked very hard to make sure all the meals were great.

Orlan from Phillipines was outstanding. He took great care of us and would love to have him again.

We had Glendene from Trinidad in 2002 (unless it is another girl, same name and country) as our assistant server. Her husband also worked on the ship as a bartender I think. Great to hear she is still there - I will have to look her up next month.

My favorite server of all time (going back to 2000) was Marizio from Australia. He took very good care of us in Palo on several trips but I hear he has gone home and is working for an airline. Anne Marie in Palo is also awesome.

Our favorite is Server is Beckie from Canada. She was wonderful during our repo cruise in August. DS is a picky eater and she arranged for a shrimp appetizer every night for him, whether it was on the menu or not. She was very friendly and although some people would not like it, every night when we were leaving the dining room we all had to stop and hug her. My other DS turned 16 on the cruise and we had arranged for a surprise cake. She had him stand on his chair while we sang "Happy Birthday" and them she applied some on the whipped cream to his face. She was also great with recommendations about what food to select and which were not quite as good.

In October we had Anton from Bulgaria and Naif from Turkey. They were great. They chatted when we felt like chatting, and were professionally unobtrusive when we were deep in conversation. They knew our preferences very quickly, and made us feel pampered. Very personable (and good looking, too!).

Our Head Server was Mac, and he was the first Head Server we have had who actually seemed interested in meeting/talking to us.

Orlan was phenomenal. He and Sandra were paired together in October and were the highlight of our trip. Told DCL that as well...if we ever re-book it will be because of them and the experience they gave us!

There he is. DS6 loved him. He made napkin hats for all the kids at our table and also did magic tricks. He was a lot of fun! Especially with the nothing scribbled in chocolate sauce on a plate when DS6 said he wanted nothing for dessert.

Sachin from India and his assistant Gerry. Very friendly, fast, incredible service! Can't remember the Head Server's name, but he was wonderful too. Talked with us every night.

We had an Alex on our last cruise that was from Croatia. He and Kendal from Trinidad as the assistant server made an awesome team.

By the end of the week, they knew what we liked and what we didn't like. I think they were the best serving team we've ever had.

I'll second that! They really made dining times special for our group! They were fun, attentive, and AWESOME when it came to remembering all of our different needs. (2 of us had food allergies, and they never once forgot to remind us if there was something on the menu that we shouldn't eat.)

I just cannot say enough good stuff about them!! They're an awesome team!!!

Brenda, where was Alex from? We had an Alex on our last cruise that was from Croatia. He and Kendal from Trinidad as the assistant server made an awesome team.

Alex was from the Phillipines and Silvana was from Argentina - they were wonderful and if we went again (fingers crossed) would ask for them.

Another vote for LeeRoy from Jamaica and assistant server Edgar. Edgar is my absolute favorite for reasons only my husband and I and our table mates (Jo and Danny) will know!!!

It sounds like Tessa - we loved her, and my DH's Uncle was smitten with her. Is this her? Tessa was our assistant server, and I think we were her last or second to last cruise before her vacation and promotion. I just read here that Adrian (pictured here with Tessa) is now at Palo. My son will miss him but I'll be so happy to see him at Palo in February!!
