Favorite sad movie???

Steel Magnolias is both one of my favorite comedies and tear jerkers. :)

I admit that I cried at Titanic. Those kids... :(

Old Yeller, ET and The Green Mile get to me every time. Great movies but so sad.

An oldie, but goodie...Shenandoah...with Jimmy Stewart. When he gives his speech to the young soldier who just killed his son...

and a few other scenes as well, like the ending!

OMG, I had forgotten about Old Yeller. I can't watch that movie anymore. I get sad just thinking about it. Where's the tissue?

Sophies Choice I haven't seen it in years, but just the thought of having to choose which child is going to die at the concentration camp is enough to get me chocked up. ET is my favorite movie ds (#5) initials are ET I always cry.

I cry everytime I see What dreams may come.
RENT made me cry. I have seen the musical on stage before and didn't cry but Angel's death montage just had me bawling! I am not sure there was a dry eye in the theater!
Phantom of the opera also made me cry during the cemetery scene.

Somewhere in Time is a good one that few people know of......

Christopher Reeve and Jayne Seymour.

I don't know why I like it but I do. It would certainly qualify as a tearjerker.

I always cry over the Joy Luck Club

I watched the Notebook this past week for the first time and I had the full on ugly faced cry going on.

Penny Serenade is my alltime favorite, it stars Cary Grant and Irene Dunne.

Actually, the movies that make me cry the most are usually not the really sad ones. When I want a tear-jerker, I reach for Sense and Sensibility...never fails, even though it is not a tragic movie...and I recently cried my way through Little Women...yes, the Winona Ryder version. Romeo and Juliet...either the recent one with Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio, or better the earlier Franco Zephirelli (I think that's his name, but I definitely could be wrong and the spelling is completely suspect!)...is always a good one to put in for a good cry. Others that provide a cry but yet feel good are ET and loads of Christmas movies. Miracle on 34th Street and Its a Wonderful Life come to mind.

I completely forgot about that one. It's been a while since I've seen it. I love that movie!

Oh! I forgot about that one! I love the end when Elinor finds out Edward didn't marry Lucy and starts to sob, and when he says, "My heart is, and always will be, yours.", I lose it! Great movie!

Kramer vs. Kramer

That last scene really gets to me!

I love that movie too.

Also love Beaches, Terms of Endearment & Bridges of Madison County.

Waterloo Bridge is an amazing movie. It's really old- Vivien Leigh stars in it. It's quite a tearjerker :guilty:

The Sea Inside. It makes me happily cry everytime I watch it. I love that movie. :)

The Bridges of Madison County
The Way We Were
Born Free

Sophie's Choice was so gutwrenching I couldn't see any Meryl Streep movie for years after that.

I cry when watching "City of Angels."

I made Dh watch it while we were dating and he later revealed (after we got married, of course!) that the end was his fav. part. How sensitive!!

I think its called Cold Mountain or something like that... about a soldier during the Civil War

Beaches, Fried Green Tomatoes, Forest Gump and...

Man on Fire which is an awesome action movie with Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning
