I'm planning my wedding around a Disney theme. We are covering all bases since we are not sure if we want a movie theme or just Disney parks etc. I would like to know what your favorite restaurant is in Disney World (be it at a park, Downtown Disney or a resort) and what your favorite meal is there. We are planning a trip to the world before our wedding so I want to try many different dishes to see if I would like any served at my reception. Thanks in advance.

My favorite is Jiko. I've loved everything I try there, but the filet/mac & cheese combo is great. So is the chef flatbread! And the lemon curd dessert! OMG YUM!

Ooh tough one...I am going to give you a few.

Beirgarten since DH is German and the family style tables make for a nice cozy setting...love the dancing and the music..great food too

Jiko is incredible food wise, beautiful restaurant with alot of wine to choose from

Fultons is great for seafood, we never miss this place.

Cindy's Castle would probably be great atmosphere wise....go for dinner, never been but I hear it is great

Tutto Italia since I am Italian and love the food and the restaurant is beautiful!

Flying Fish Cafe is our favorite, but its not very Disney-esque. I'm reminded of it every time we go to Legal Seafoods here in Boston! Love the scallops and risotto. California Grille is awesome, with its views of the Kingdom and wonderful food (steaks especially!). I have to second the poster who said Jiko - always had a great meal there, too. I don't feel like I'm being much help - there are so many great places with different themes and specialties. Maybe you could have "hidden Mickeys" in your wedding somehow? they all have that!

Seeing how many recommended Jiko I went and looked up their menu..
Right at the top it said over 100.00 per person (website review)

YIKES..

is it really worth it?

My favorite is dinner at V&A at the GF. Food quality, nothing else at WDW comes close.

After that I would probably pick the appetizers at Jiko but the entrees at Flying Fish.

My absolute favorite is Victoria & Albert's, but I think it would be cost prohibitive for a reception. (Now a nice meal for you and DH the day after the wedding...that might work)

My second favorite is Jiko. Not sure who figured it at $100 per person, it's not nearly that. The fillet is $40, if you order your own appetizer it'd be around $10, but the Taste of Africa (our favorite) is $10 and big enough to share between 2 - 4 adults) Dessert is around $9 I think.

I actually had the chicken last time we were there (I was pregnant and reacted badly to beef) and it was wonderful! Chicken is more like $22 - $25 for an entree, and it's delicious.

Chef Mickey's!!!! I actually added their parm. mashed potatoes for our wedding recepetion!
