I'm sure this poll has been posted many times, but I'm new and would like to see what everyone thinks.

What is your favorite WDW resort?

DrKnow77, welcome to the Dis! I just cast my vote for the AKL and noted that it was pretty much neck & neck with the Poly in regards to the top spot in your poll. What is your favorite resort?

So far I've only stayed at All Star Music and CBR (twice) so I haven't stayed at any Deluxe Resorts yet. That's why I posted the poll... wanted to get everyone's opinion. I'm going to the Wilderness Lodge in September of next year, but would also like to potentially visit another resort while we're there.

Thanks for the feedback!

so many to choose from!

We loved the WL when we went for a water park weekend and my son's birthday! The bunk beds were perfect for our two kids and the queen that came with them was great for my husband and I. I prefer the location of this one to the AKL, which is vertually the same set up.

I was unimpressed with the Poly and the Contemp.

I like the Beach club best of all the Epcot resorts, for its convienence and style. Im hoping to stay in a villa there next time.

Love the GF, but am saving it for when the kids are big enough to do the parks on thier own, at least part of the time, so I can enjoy the amenities.

We were at WL Thanksgiving week and loved it. I'd probably say my second choice would probably be the Boardwalk Inn.

Since we have only ever stayed at 2 deluxes, I can only use them, so between the Contemporary and WL, Contemporary wins, hands down!

"ncligs Hey....what about Old Key West?? "

ncligs, I have to agree. Old Key West is my choice too:bounce:

From what I understand, Old Key West is a DVC resort, correct? I didn't include this because you can only put in ten different options for a poll on this message board.

Sorry to Old Key West fans!

I didn't think anything could top WL, but YC is the bomb!!!!

I love the pool, rooms and location!

1--YC
2--WL
3--Cont.
4--AKL

I haven't tried the others...yet;)

DrKnow77,
Yes, OKW is DVC resort........but so is Beach Club,Boardwalk, and Wilderness Lodge.;)

Old Key West!!!!!! Yes, it is a DVC resort, but anyone can book a room there for cash through CRO.

(I'd drop the garish Swan/Dolphin and put in the Disney resort.)

Old Key West is a Home Away form Home resort and not a Deluxe resort officially. Maybe that is why it is not in the poll.

This is not correct. The BC, BWI and WL are regular Deluxe resorts. Then there are the BCV, BWV and the WLV which are considered Home Away from Home resorts and not Deluxe resorts.

I voted for AKL but YC and AKL are equal as far as we are concerned. It just depends on what type of vacation we are looking for on a given trip.

Example we are staying AKL Concierge in Feb because we want to relax enjoy the animals and the services of the lodge. Considering the historical high temp avg is 73 we are not planning on being able to swim every afternoon so the pool is not a consideration this tirp.

Now for our 10day Sept trip we will be staying at the YC unless they do not discount or some reason. Why? Because we plan to be more active in the parks and it will be hot so Strom-A-Long Bay is the best.

I think if a resort has 1,2, and 3 separate bedrooms,jacuzzi,frig,stove, 2 bathrooms,valet parking(BWV,WLV,BCV),etc....I would consider it a Deluxe resort.:D

You might consider it a Deluxe ncligs but Disney's offical classification for the BWV, WLV, BCV and OKW is Home Away from Home. :D

I think it is important that people are given the facts and not our opinions as facts. There are thousands of people reading these boards that might now know anything about Disney and it is important that factual information is posted.

There are differences between the Home Away from Home resorts and the Deluxes. The check-in time is later "after 4pm" instead of "after 3pm". The deluxes offer full daily housekeeping at no additional charge. This is not true at the Home Away from Home resorts. These two reasons alone are enough for us not to stay at a Home Away from Home resort. These types of facts need to be made known to people so that they can make informed choices about which resort to stay at based on facts.
