I am really looking forward to hopefully going to disneyland this summer so i wanted to know: What are your favorite parts about Disneyland and DCA? Normally we go to WDW and this will be our first time at DLR so just wanted some insight on what you favorite parts of the parks are.

We love when you enter thru the tunnel onto Main Street first thing in the morning
We love sitting in the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country to watch the activity on the Rivers of America.
We love the back path area by BTMRR that leads into Fantasyland.
We love standing up by Sleeping Beauty's Castle for the fireworks!!! (my fav)

At DCA, we love watching our small children explore at Flik's Fun Faire.
We love standing on the bridge leading into Paradise Pier to look at the lagoon & also watch them launch the riders on California Screamin'.
We love sitting by the big sun/water feature & people watch.

As for rides: DL- BTMRR, SM, POTC
DCA- Soarin, GRR & Ca Screamin'

As for food: River Belle Terrace (Walt's breakfast spot)
Hungry Bear Restaurant
Blue Bayou (for the atmospher)
Taste Pilot's Grill in DCA

Hope that helps a little...... Have fun planning & have a great trip!!!

Definitely catch the Remember Dreams Come True fireworks show. It's the best Disney fireworks show I've ever seen. I really loved Disneyland last summer when I went for the 1st time. I've been to WDW about 15 times. Disneyland is sooo cool!

The Matterhorn is a must do!

I love the courtyard in New Orleans Square, also Snow White's Grotto/Wishing Well. Those two areas are so calming to me.

Casey Jr. is my favourite. For parade watching it is along the rocks as you are walking around to the Boardwalk. I would get food and eat there then watch a parade and it made a great seat back. Just me against the rock and the line in front of me.

A nice quiet walk from Fantasyland to Big Thunder.

VEry few people take the trail around the back side of Grizzly Mountain in DCA.

The Redwood area is nice also.

Catch a Flav

In front of Bobsleds was mom's favourite spot.

New Orleans Square is my favorite part of the park. Plenty to see and do and home to the best two attractions pirate: :hmghost: and best resturant in the park.

The Big Thunder Trail (Path from Fronterland to Fantasyland), although not secret in any way, seems to have a 'little known' feel to it for some reason. Keep an eye out on the trail and you'll see a cave and other little reminders from the old Mine train ride that was there before BTMRR.

Mr. Toad (What more needs to be said :upsidedow )

Castle walkthrough (I am stoked this is back. I like it when attractions come back after being MIA. Can't wait to see it next month) It's a charming little attraction and was always very neat to see as a kid.

Yup, we've had a LOT of DISers say they feel iffy going through that trail.

Definitely go on Indiana Jones. That's something I missed at WDW. You'll notice things eerily similar as the Magic Kingdom, but some of the rides at DL just have that original feel!

Ask me this question at different times of the day and I'll give you different answer. For me, I've got different favourite areas for morning, midday and evening.

I love grabbing a coffee and taking my time down main street and into adventure land. I generally head to POTC first. At night, there's something about the coziness of Storyboard land and Tommorrowland so I'd have to say that area towards the end of the day.

If you like dark rides the Fantasyland will knock your socks off! It did mine.
New Orleans Square is very nice and I agree with above poster about Hungry Bear Restaurant and watching the Mark Twain and Columbia sail by. Very nice.

I will say that the Monsters Inc ride is now one of my favorites. I don't hear it mentioned a lot but it is really is good. The line is full of Monster Inc jokes and fun things to read. The cars have little tvs on them so you can watch the monster news while you ride. The ride itself has so many details you have to go more than once to see everything. And at the end, Roz picks someone in your car to talk to. :goodvibes

Tower of Terror. Nothing like free falling and only your lap belt keeping you from hitting the ceiling. They tell you to hold onto things, lol. I freak out on bridges and even ladders at time because of a fear of falling but love Tower of Terror. A nice place with flowers is the winery and the mountain with waterfalls.

TASTE PILOTS woot, sorry, excited.

DL - Tigger Tails - Can only get them at the Critter Country Corner shop right outside the exit to the Pooh Ride. Generally will ride Pooh and then stop in the shop for Tigger tails and enjoy while people watching as they come off Splash or getting their pictures taken with Pooh and friends.

DL - Davy Crockett Canoes in Critter country, something you can no longer do at WDW, so if you happen to go on a busy day, they will offer this attraction at DL. Kind of fun to do and being close to the water going around the Island on the Rivers of America on your own (plus 19 others) power.

DCA - Disney Animation, love to sit inside here and watch and listen in the mainroom. Sometimes we never venture into the other rooms or other attractions. I am a bit disappointed that they have moved the limited seating from the middle of the room to the backside and have now allowed for stroller parking inside. Still pretty cool and our daughter at age 7 loves dance on the light patterns on the floor.
