favorite Nashville restaurants and things to do??

I also love Spaghetti Factory, even though it's a chain. Loveless Cafe is very good. There's a buffet I've always liked called Heritage House Smorgasbord. They have great fried chicken and apple fritters and other typical southern food. It isn't downtown, but it's really good.

And if you're in the mood for dessert, I highly recommend Gigi's Cupcakes. They have several locations around Nashville and they're starting to spread out to other areas as well. Actually, a new location is opening in my town next week - I'm excited; I love those cupcakes!

ETA - Dave and Busters used to be a Jillian's. Maybe that's what you were thinking of, live4christp1.

That's it. I just posted that before reading all the replies.;)

Man I'm homesick now after reading this.

At Opry Mills I would say Rainforest Cafe or Aquarium (the Aquarium's chicken Caesar salad is SUPER).

Around Nashville this is where we ate a lot when I was going to college there....
Melting Pot, Spaghetti Factory, Wildhorse, Joe's Crab Shack, and O'Charleys.

I miss Opryland too. Sigh...ugh I hate being stuck in El Paso. On our way to Disney we have a stop in Nashville, but we have to stay on the plane...makes me sad. If we had had an actual layover DH's Mom was going to come see us since she works in Nashville.

Demos for steaks downtown and C$ck of the Walk is YUMMY for good southern cookin'.

You must see the Opryland Hotel it is gorgeous!!!

I have family there and was born there. I miss it and my fam very much...have fun we will be down for Thanksgiving.

Don't stay at the Raddison right next to it...I know that for sure. There is a new Hampton Inn and Suites nearby that seems to be clean and safe.

We like the Hotel Preston which is considered an 'airport' hotel, but is within 5 miles of Opry Mills.

Try Demos' downtown, and if you're in the mood for one of the BEST big fat greasy cheeseburgers on the planet, go to Rotier's near Vanderbilt. I've used them to soak up all the 'fun' I drank many a night!

I was going to suggest there also. They have a nice Contemporary look, but at a good price. We looked into both the Hotel Preston and Lowes Vanderbilt for a romantic night and couldnt decide because they were both giving us what we wanted for a good price...so we went to Disney as a family instead....:rotfl:
