There's a current thread with meals people wouldn't order again. What about the opposite? What are your favorite Disney cruise meals?

We are first time cruisers leaving in a week and I am looking forward to experiencing the MDR each night! I am especially hoping I can get my son to order something other than chicken tenders each night.

Chicken parmesan at Palo brunch. Comes with a bed of risotto. Yum!

FWIW, our DS (age 18 at the time) had the chicken strips for his appetizer every night, before his entrée. The deal was he could eat the chicken strips every night, if he wanted to, BUT he had to try one thing from the adult menu every night (either appetizer, salad, entrée) in addition to it.

I concur with the Chicken Parm from Palo. And the Grape Pizza.
Island-Spiced Grilled Rib Eye of Beef (Parrot Cay)
Butternut Squash Soup (Animator's Palette)
Grilled Beef Tenderloin (Til We Meet Again menu)
Rack of New Zealand Lamb with A Dijon Mustard Crust (Let the Magic Begin menu)
Chicken Strips (yummmmmmm)
Chocolate soufflé (Palo)
Grand Marnier soufflé (Lumiere's/Tritons)
French Onion Soup

The French Onion Soup, Escargot, Lamb Chop and Soufflé at Royal Palace on the Dream is one of the best meals I have ever had anywhere!

At 18 you still required him to order and eat certain things?

I was giving him the opportunity to try something other than chicken strips, as that's pretty much what he lives on at home. :goodvibes

We paid for the cruise, that was the only "cost" for him.

Other food he ate (breakfast, lunch, snacks) he could eat what he wanted.

Amazingly, he found there were other options in the world that taste pretty good.

We actually told our DS that he could eat chicken strips any time on the ship but during dinner he could have a steak or chicken breast. He's a picky eater but I figured this way there would be one meal where it wasn't fried and the reality is he does like the other options.

Thanks OP.

The other thread is depressing me!

I really enjoyed the cream of asparagus soup. There was also a grilled beef tenderloin with roasted veggies salad that was excellent.

I'm struggling to think of something specific to post. We definitely didn't have a bad meal on our Fantasy cruise last year.

Standouts were definitely
Chicken Parm at Palo
Lets face it anything at Palo or Remy

We liked all the food we tried in the MDRs we did listen to our servers often and looks like it paid off.

The Parrot Cay salad was really great, and the short rib entree on pirate night was outstanding.

Everything we tried was delicious. My recommendation is to listen to your server. Every night ours told us what he thought was the best dish on our menu.

We love food and took the opportunity to try lots of new things. Each night we ordered one of each appetizer so we could both try a little bit. We ordered three entrees and each tried some. We aren't huge desert eaters but if something sounded good and we had room we would share that too. For us it was the perfect way to try a huge variety but not be overstuffed. Our server was so funny. He kept saying he wished more people stepped out of the box and didn't care how many plates were on the table.

Our favorites were the escargot, lamb chops, mushroom bisque and all the seafood. We didn't have a seafood dish we didn't love. Well except the lobster. It wasn't great but I think it how it was cooked.

We came back a little heavier but it was so worth it. ;)

The fresh pineapple at the buffets on the classic ships (only on the classic ships I guess until they re-do them into 'cabanas style' because now I can pick my own, on the new ships a CM behind the counter picks it and no matter how we try to instruct them -- pointing out certain piece, describing the color we want, -- we always get bland white slabs.)

The tomato basil soup, French onion soup and butternut squash soup -- and I don't normally like soup and never order it when I'm out.

And the reason we go to Palo brunch -- Chicken Parm!

I haven't had Palo YET but some standouts from the MDRS are: Belle's French onion soup in RP, asparagus crab soup in EG, grilled beef tenderloin in RP, Tahitian crème brulee & grand marnier souflee in RP, from the See Ya Real soon menu on the 5 night was potato leek soup and yachtsman steakhouse beef tenderloin with the chocolate decadence dessert. YUMMY
