Favorite meals?

Thanks everyone! Only a few more days, so hearing about the yummy food helps to pass the time! We weren't able to get Palo reservations but might try to get a brunch reservation when we board.

I loved the Muslix that was in Cabanas, Escargot, Swordfish, Shrimp Cheesecake. Just to name a few

Is the Grand Marinier Souffle only available on a certain night in a certain restaurant?

I was able to request it in the other dining rooms on the Dream and Fantasy, as long as it was a regular rotation menu night (not Pirate, Captain's Gala, etc). Yummy!

I don't think I have had anything that I regretted. I must mention though, that on our Alaskan cruise on the Wonder, our waiter suggested elk. My DH and I were very hesitant, but man was it ever GOOD! We are not big meat eaters, but really enjoyed it. So, if you get the chance, go for it! :thumbsup2

The thing I most wanted to recreate at home was the Black truffle pasta purse letters that were at Animators palate. They were so good I emailed them for the recipe to make them myself, not that I've actually done it but I have the recipe now.

The Crispy Roasted Duck Breast in Triton's and Lamb Sirloin on the Till We Meet Again menu were by far my two favorites. Can't wait to try Elk on the Alaskan menu in Sept!

Black Truffle Pasta Pursiettes
Sea Bass

I ordered these every night. This was in addition to trying other items from the menu but the last 3 cruises, every night I would count on my delicious meal!!

We also have requested items not on the menu at all. We've had amazing spicy curry chicken and thai chicken as well. You just have to ask.

My recommendation is to listen to your server. Every night ours told us what he thought was the best dish on our menu.

We love food and took the opportunity to try lots of new things.

This is what I absolutely cannot WAIT to try! All three of us are pretty adventurous eaters and this is going to be a great opportunity. My fear is that I'll fall in love with a dish and not be able to get it again! (I'm not a good cook, IMO!) :scratchin

I've been on all the ships and have always liked the lamb dishes. Also on the Dream I had a scallop dish that was fabulous!:)

After 13 cruises, these is what I choose (just from the MDRs):

Best overall meal is at Lumiere's (Magic) or Royal Palace (Dream)
- Onion Soup Gratinee
- Farmhouse Salad
- Chateaubriand w/potatoes, green beans and Bernaise sauce

Carioca's has the most things (in one restaurant) I really like
- Cuban salad w/Avocado, Pineapple in a Cider Vinegar Dressing
- Beef Empanadas w/Red Chimichurri
- Black Bean Soup
- Warm Banana Bread

And my #1 all-time favorite thing is at Triton's (Wonder) or Royal Court (Fantasy):
Avocado-Citrus Salad w/Orange Vinaigrette

Throw in a room-service BLT and I'm happy

The new veal chop at AP was amazing on magic last November.

I also loved the scallops, shrimp, pasta dish on Pirate night.

The strawberry shortcake Sunday in Lumieres/RP.

The seafood skewer with coconut pineapple quinoa in Cariocas!!! I liked that plate clean!

I loved the Ahi Tuna and Avocado Tower. I don't usually care for wasabi, but I went with the waiter's suggestion. I did not regret it. It was delish! The Vanilla Creme Brûlée was my favorite desert. I'm craving it now.:lovestruc

My 13 yo DS was very adventurous, I think he tried every dish(along with ALL the bread on the table, he is a human garbage disposal) his favorites were the duck, lambchops, and the wild boar. DD got the rib eye stesk 2xs and about 3 servings of the baked Alaska!!!

I have seen a number of posts about this. What is it exactly. It sounds like some kind of ravioli dish. I don't mean to make small of it because it sounds rather fancy.

That's what it is, but in pasta purses, not flat raviolis. It was delicious.

Those would be my favorite, except for the mushroom polenta at Palo. YUM!

It is a delicious pasta dish! Here is the description from the menu and also a picture from the internet.
