I love my Cast Iron Dutch Oven like Le Creuset but it's the knock off by Tramontina. $39 Sams Club.

My newest is my Blendtec that I just bought this weekend at Costco. It was a BIG splurge but I it!

I also adore my Kitchenaide Mixer and my 6 Crockpots. (I have a little Crockpot obsession but I have them in all diffenent sizes and styles and they last forever)

I used to hate chopping vegtables, especially onions, until I got my Genius Nicer Dicer. I chop everything with it now and it is so easy to clean!

I live in a dorm, so not much cooking goes on. I have a microwave, a minifridge, and a small toaster, and I love them all. I have a crazy schedule this term (today, for example, I left the dorm at 7:30 am to go to my 8 am class, and returned around 7:30 pm after all my classes and my Tuesday tutoring job were over), so it's great to be able to grab meals to-go when I actually have time and store them in the fridge/freezer to reheat when my schedule gets crazy. It's nice to get back after a long day of classes and tutoring and be able to heat up dinner quickly, instead of waiting in a long line at the dining center or food court on campus to get the same food.
However, since I own exactly three appliances and have no kitchen, I asked my mom the same question. Her answers:
Her crock pots (she has three currently)--two were gifts, the other cost around $40 on sale
Her Kitchenaid--a gift
Her electric griddles (she has three of these also)--they were all gifts, I know one was $25 and another was $40
An assortment of baking/cookie sheets that she uses for various things on an almost daily basis--ranged from $10 to somewhere in the $30 range, and at least a couple were gifts
Her collection of cutting boards (I think we're up to 4 or 5 now)--some were gifts, others she bought on sale at the grocery store, I doubt she spent more than $15 on any of them

For a reason unknown to the rest of the family, my dad is under the impression that every Christmas he has to buy my mom some sort of kitchen gadget or appliance. I assume this comes from a few years in a row when she actually did have something for the kitchen on her list; now, whether she has something on there or not, he buys her a new appliance or gadget. This year, it was a third electric griddle. Last year, it was a giant frying pan that she uses at least a couple times a week now, and the year before that it was a pie plate with a lid (actually on her list), and a second electric griddle. So, she has a lot of kitchen gear, and her favorite appliance or tool changes often, but she always loves the above things.

Krups coffeemaker...12 years old, doing just fine, paid under $40 for it (which 12 years ago, I thought was a bloody fortune)

Sunbeam Little Oscar chopper. My Aunt gave it to us at our bridal shower 27 years ago, L-O-V-E it and it is still going strong!

My Crock Pot

Pampered Chef glass classic batter bowl (I think I paid $15-16?)It can go in the microwave, oven, the thing is so versatile I just love it.

Cuisonart 4 wide -slice toaster. Bought the display from Kohls 8 years ago for $10...use it everyday. It is discontinued (hence the great price) and when it breaks, I am going to be WAY bummed.

Oh, man...I inherited my MIL's little Oskar that was missing the grater/slicer part. I ended up buying a whole used one on Ebay (as it was discontinued) because it's so super! Used it today to shred cheese.

So many gadgets... it's hard to narrow! I use my Vitamix ($500), Kitchenaid mixer ($250 in 2001) and my orginal Cuisinart DLC-7 14-cup mac-daddy food processor ($299 in 1988 and still worth EVERY penny) nearly every day. I use a breadmaker ($199) a couple of times a week, and the panini press ($100). We are unrepentant foodies.

I have a couple of pressure cookers that I use more and more often. One is electric ($70)that I use to cook dry beans in an hour (even without soaking) and the other is a large stove top model ($125) that I use to quickly cook soups, roasts, chili and other sauces that would require hours of simmering. I also use it to pressure can low acid foods.

In the summer I'd say my favorite gadget is the gelato compressor ($250)...

I was also gifted a used Toaster Oven a few years ago. I never would have bought one for myself. I've found it to be priceless and would definitely replace it if it ever breaks. It will cook an entire rotisserie chicken, but is also nice for small servings of nuggets and fries for the kids without heating up the oven. Invaluable. I'm not sure what a decent one costs, but I'd guess $100 max.

We have recently bought some new things for our kitchen we're really happy about. We bought a Kyrocera ceramic tomato knife. It's fantastic. It's sharper than any knife we've ever had and is supposed to stay sharp for a much longer time, and because of the micro serrations it digs in instead of slipping off the skin. I think it cost $40. We bought a Kyrocera peeler a year ago for about $10 and its fantastic too.

We also just bought a nice mandolin. I like it because it stands up by itself and we can control how thick slices are with a dial on the side. I think it was also $40.

hmmm...my pizza baking stones(for just about everything) my vintage revereware stainless steel cookware,my whisk, a really cool long ss spoon from Ikea that use all the time... my stainless mixing bowl (ikea) I use all my stuff almost daily, but those are the go to pieces..... I have a hand mixer, but don't use it as often as my old fashioned whisk.... I have one great slicing knife that I love and use all the time b/c of its shape....... oh, my coffeemaker that I adore each and every morning and my most favorite item is my refrigerator,because it keeps my food cold.

Without a doubt, my KitchenAid mixer. I have killed three mixers in the last two years (ironically, none of them mine... a friend's and my last two bosses') because I guess I drive them too hard. I expressed an interest in a KA and some friends and family got together and got me a ton of gift cards for my birthday. Combined with sales, I got a Pro600 (bowl lift) for $350ish. A small fortune, yes, but between how much I use it and how many dead mixers it will save me it is soooo worth it.

Also, the Ice Cream attachment is great, I am able to make "ice cream" with coconut cream instead of milk and therefore avoid dairy (my archnemisis!)

Without a doubt my Blendtec, worth every single penny, close to $400 maybe, my husband spent. Got it for Christmas 2011 and use it all time.

Love my Le Creuset pots too.....maybe $300 or $400 for all that I got.

Wusthof knife set is great, unsure of the price as we got them through husbands work.

Love my Kitchen Aid stand mixer too, again not sure of price.

I love the idea of the magnetic measuring spoons! Gonna have to those.

I still love my Magic Bullet, use it grind coffee beans, make small servings of yogurt fruit smoothies for the kids. That was probably $50 when I got it for Christmas years ago.

Kitchenaid stand mixer...no doubt. This is strange, but one of my favorite things is a two cup dry measuring cup! I use that thing ALL the time baking, etc. My mom gave it to me, so I'm not sure how much it cost. I also like those really small cheap paring knives from pampered chef, they are like a buck a piece. I am always grabbing one of those to open things, cut small things. We also use our ninja a lot. DH wanted this, and I thought it was a stupid purchase. But...it totally replaced my KA blender that I never really loved. It works fantastically! I wish we had bought a bigger one!

My Blentec is tops in my kitchen. I use it at least once a day if not 2-3 times. One of my favorite things about it is clean up is a breeze. Definatley worth the $500 I paid for it.

I'm totally a Pampered Chef girl! I have a ton of ut in my kitchen and utilize a lot of the pieces on a daily basis.
