Favorite kitchen equipment/gadget and how much did it cost?

As a single girl, the star of my kitchen is definetely my countertop convection oven. I bought it because I wanted a new toaster oven. It was on sale at Kohl's and I had a 30% off so it was $35. Well it doesn't make good toast at all, but it does everything else including rotisserie chicken and roasts. I can even get a large Papa Murphy's pizza in it. I haven't touched my oven in nearly two years since I got this.

I also like my electric presure cooker. It's a QVC brand that I got as a e-bay daily deal for $30. The brown feature is my favorite.

I would say my Blendtec (expensive, but worth it - we make smoothies, nut butters, sauces, etc. in it) is number one. $400 at Costco.

Number two is my slow cooker, which I use several times a week ($50). Overnight oatmeal, bean dishes, soups, etc. Just got a new vegan slow cooker cookbook and looking forward to trying some new recipes.

Number three, probably my bread machine. I have my family over every Sunday and always make a fresh loaf of sourdough bread in the machine. I also use it for pizza dough, calzone, cinnamon buns, etc.

Number four, immersion blender. We eat a lot of homemade soup and it is great to be able to puree them in the pot or in the slow cooker.

Number five, food processor. Some things just work better in the food processor than in the Blendtec - for example, making piecrust.

I am such a kitchen gadget person that I can't name just one!! my dh thinks I have every gadget there is!!!
I will say for Christmas I got an electric kettle and love it too!!!

I really love my mixing bowls I bought about 10 years ago at Costco. They are stainless steel with rubber around the outside bottom. approx $20

My electric tea kettle is up there on the list too. a gift probably $25

Do you mind telling me which cookbook it is. We are vegan also and I would love to use my crockpot more.

Gadgets...we have a ton! My favorites...
-Kitchen Aid stand mixer ($300ish)....cookies, mashed potatoes, pizza dough, etc
-Programmable huge crockpot (and the Reynolds liners) ($50)...I use at least once a week. Beef stew is simmering away as I type.

My husbands...
-citrus peeler from Pampered Chef...a dollar

oops...prices.... pizza stones,approx. 25.00 each,(I have 3 of them)
Old Revereware, hard to say,it's all from thrift stores,so maybe 60.00 for approx. 25 pcs?
my whisk,approx. 5.00
my long spoon,1.50
my awesome knife,16.00 (Marshalls)
coffeemaker 45.00 (Kohls)
my fridge...well, we padi approx. 400.00 17 years ago...still going strong!
Nothing expensive here, but it's all extremely well utilized! (can you tell I'm not a big gadget person?):rotfl2:

I LOVE my OLD Reverware too! I have the set I bought 35 years ago and a couple pieces from my mothers that must be 50 years old. The new stuff-meh.

Favorite is the convection/conventional oven with a warmer on the stovetop. The warmer is great for putting something on to rise, there is NOTHING else that compares to baking in a convection oven.
Baked potatoes, bread/phyllo pastries/appetizers/cakes/cookies/chicken/turkey it all looks and tastes better with the even heat.

I'll have to 2nd the Pampered Chef Classic Batter Bowl-2qt measuring bowl with pour spout and cover.
Great for mixing/pouring/microwaving/storing. $16 per the link:

I bought my Mom one of these the year after I bought mine. She also thinks it's wonderful.

They arrived the other day. They seem like they will be just perfect. I really like that they have both dry and wet measurements. Great share!!

Pineapple slicer and corer from Oxo. It makes using fresh pineapple a breeze. Hint: put the pineapple in the sink for better leverage when coring. The tool cost about $10. -- Suzanne

My KitchenAid mixer (Christmas gift from my stepson and his wife)
Pancake/cupcake batter dispenser, $8 I think from Avon
8 cup measuring cup $7 Walmart

Glad you like the measuring spoons. :goodvibes Forgot to mention they also have flat bottoms so they lay flat on the counter in order to pour liquids (vanilla, etc.) into the bowls.

Your recommendation came at just the right time. That flat bottom to pour is super.

I had just baked cookies and discovered that the numbers on our other measuring spoons (other not old!) had rubbed away. We bought them from the Disney store and didn't realize that they were just painted so they rubbed right off even with handwashing. Not useful!

Another gadget I love is my cherry pitter. It is super since I have little kids who love cherries but I don't want them to have the pits. It gets a workout in cherry season :)

I hesitate to ask what you are doing with a wife blender :)
