I am hoping that someone can help me out since I need to get the Personal Vacation Itinerary to the folks at concierage today.

We will be visiting WDW in November for birthdays. For my birthday, I would like to have Italian food. I was an exchange student in high school and just love good Italian food. I am confused because I keep seeing mixed reviews for the various Italian places. We can go anywhere that night but I prefer to be in one of the parks. Anyone have a favorite?

Palio in the Swan is the best in WDW, in our opinion.

In our family, our favorite place-hands down- to get Italian is at Alfredo's in Epcot's Italy pavilion. We go every time we visit!

Palio in the Swan is excellent, albeit pricey. If you can get off property, Carrabba's is out on 192 (not far from Animal Kingdom!) Their food is very good, but isn't as good as Palio, but the prices are more reasonable.

We really love Alfredo's.

Tony's in the MK is good also.

Mama Melrose is supposed to be good as well, but we've never had the opportunity to visit.

I might get bashed for this one.....but we enjoy Tony's Town Square in the MK.

We plan it so that we get our PS's for a late lunch ont eh front porch, so that we can watch the parade and eat at the same time.

Never been to Alfredo's but it's on my agenda in a few weeks. I like both Tony's and Mama Melrose.

We love Palio, and the boat ride from EPCOT or MGM is very nice. My second choice would be Mama Melrose. It really depends more on what kind of Italian you would like. I've heard great things about Portobello Yacht Club by Pleasure Island. Maybe if you plan an evening over there that would be an option.

I like Mama Melrose and Alfredos. I've always enjoyed all meals I've had there.

Here's another vote for Mama Melrose's in MGM - in particular I really like their desserts such as the chocolate mousse.:mickeybar

We have enjoyed Alfredo's every time we have been there. I've read a lot of negative posts on Alfredo's but our food has always been tastey and hot. The service has been friendly and it's a fun atmosphere.

We just ate at Alfredo's and it was fabulous.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

The fettucine was the best I've ever had, and the dessert sampler was heavenly. We stayed at the Swan and Palio's looked to be too formal for our family. The Alfredo's atmosphere was lots of fun!

If you are looking for real authentic Italian food, Alfredo's at the Italian pavillian in EPCOT is the way to go. I have gone there several times for lunch and dinner and have always been pleased. They always use extremely fresh ingredients. Their food is delicious and extremely filling so make sure you leave room for desert.

I found Mama Melrose and Tonys to be generic fake food, sort of like the Olive Garden or the whats it called maccaroni grill. I wasn't happy with the fake spice in the sauces which were obviously jarred and the presentation isn't too pretty either. I think they are mostly geared toward children who arent used to real italian flavor.

As for Palio at the swan, I was extremly dissapointed. The service was slow as we were the only ones in the resterant. I ordered the signature veal dish with the gnocchi and was extremely dissapointed. The veal tasted like it was burnt and covered in salt. It didnt taste right at all. If you just want a pasta dish, pizza or an appatizer, I guess Palio would be OK.

I'd definately go for Alfredos. The food is real Italian and you won't be dissapointed! The servce is friendly and the food is great!

Mama Melrose is my favorite. I should be posting a review within the next few days.

I've had two different experiences at Alfredo's. This past May we were there and the service was just absolutely wonderful! But earlier this month I was there again and the waiter couldn't have been any ruder.

Overall, the food was excellent both times...I only wish our waiter was congenial to us!

Another vote for Palio - the food was delicious and we had excellent service. We've eaten at Alfredo's and much prefer Palio. Not only do we like the food better, but the atmosphere is better, in our opinion. Alfredo's is very loud and frenetic, while Palio is quiet (quieter) and relaxing.

We just got back and did Tony's, Mama's, and Alfredos (we love Italian).

Tony's is good but not what I would call "authentic". The pizzas do have goat cheese on them and my DD almost got sick (she's not into goat cheese). We will learn to ask for only mozzarella on hers next time.

Alfredo's had the most wonderful fettucine (go figure), but the lasagna and gnocchi on the sample platter was bland, tomato-ey, and tasted warmed over--I ordered it for a change and was VERY disappointed. DS's spaghetti had almost no sauce on it. overall we were very disappointed--I just assumed all the entrees would be as good as the fettucini.

Mamas have the best wood fired pizzas and chicken parmesian--they made the cp for my DS's lunch even though it's a dinner entree. He insisted we go back there twice.

MMMMMMM...fettucini! I got the appetizer portion twice and loved it so much each time! Other than that, I've only ever ordered salads and the fresh mozzarella and tomato appetizer. The mozz was a little too soft, but overall the meal was good! I've also had the chocolate mousse and the dessert sampler. Wow...both were excellent! Italian is one of my favorite types of meals!
