Favorite ice cream now that Ample Hills is gone

Our family are certified ice cream freaks. We LOVED Ample Hills when it was still at the Boardwalk. At home, I will splurge on Häagen-Dazs or Jeni's once a week, and have gotten a little bit spoiled as a result. :earboy2:

I know there are big fans of Beaches & Cream on here, and while I enjoyed their No Way Jose, it didn't scratch that itch for really high quality ice cream for me.

What are some of your favorite ice cream items Disney offers? Anything I'm missing at Disney Springs?

Tell me what we should try next trip!

Yes, just soft serve. Nothing fancy. Better than nothing, though, now that AH is gone.
If the only options are chocolate/vanilla soft serve or nothing, I'd probably opt for the nothing. (Not because it's soft serve, but because I prefer less common flavors).

YMMV.

Our daughter loves soft serve. In fact, she was the only one of us who didn't care that much about Ample Hills, so when I just told her about the new soft serve machine, she was thrilled!

That's awesome you can get AH shipped! I didn't know that, either.

L'Artisan des Glaces in the France pavilion is the best ice cream I've ever had. At home, we only eat Haagen dazs or Ben & Jerry's.

The worlds best soft serve is also in France pavilion, in the cart that sells the crepes. Chocolate only, I believe.

Ghirardelli at Disney Springs is also fantastic, especially their chocolate.

Thank you! I've been wanting to try France's especially, but I'd overlooked Ghirardelli at DS.

Our daughter will love the crepe place's soft serve, I bet. 😋

You might wanna look into The Fountain at Dolphin. If you'll be at BW, you'e just a few steps away across the bridge.
I miss AH too. That was the perfect stop after an Epcot day on the way back to one of the resorts. Their strawberry was a fave.

We’re probably in the minority, but soft serve ice cream (usually chocolate and vanilla twist) has been a favorite of the two of us since we first met and used to get it in the student union. That was nearly 54 years ago! Since we are DVC members with BWV as our home resort, this is exciting news.

Jeni’s has most likely ruined you (and me!) for all other ice cream. I can’t say any of the ice cream I’ve had at WDW has hit the spot for a high quality treat. The gelato at L’artisan can be icy but their croque glacé is still worth a try! I typically stick with a classic Mickey bar since I can’t get it at home.

Ample Hills in the original Brooklyn location is still some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. That’s why I never bothered to get it at WDW...even the other NYC locations aren’t quite as good (though they are still good).

L’Artisan is a tradition though I only ever get the sandwich at night, and even then you have to eat it FAST. But that sweet spot before it really starts melting? OMG.
