We're going for the first time and we won't be there for long, so if we are going to enjoy a couple of nice sit down meals, I am hoping for a great experience for my daughter and her allergies. It is her birthday after all. Any tips on the best Gluten Free options for dining in or around DL?

Here is our list... it was done this year.

I'm surprised there are no options for blue bayou or Cafe Orleans.

It looks like the Disney Hotels have the best options.

As usual menus can change and you should ask before ordering.

Our best experience was at the Storyteller's breakfast buffet where the chef was more than happy to make gluten free pancakes, waffles, and pointed out what was gluten free on the buffet. He made sure my sister got everything she wanted and more! Add in the characters and she had a great time.

For counter service, we went to Whitewater Snacks a lot for their gluten free hamburger and hot dog buns and gluten free pizza. :thumbsup2

ETA: if you go to Guest Services, they have a complete print out of the latest Gluten Free options. This was very handy for our visit, so definitely pick one up!

We were there just a few weeks ago....

Go to City Hall and ask for a Glunten Free Menu. It will have all the resturants listed for Disneyland, California Adventure and for the Disney Motels.

At Disneyland I enjoyed:

Village Haus (Fantasy Land) has a wonderful roast beef (or is it a ruben) sandwich

Carnation Cafe (Main Street) had some wonderful choices....I believe I had the grilled chicken salad

At California Adventure:

Enjoyed the glunten free pastas at Wine Country Trattoria

Stay away from the gluten free pizza at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta. Very dry and parts were burnt.

Enjoy your trip!

I have celiac disease. I pick up the gluten free list at city hall when I go. Most of the sit down restaurants didn't have a gluten free menu, but it said to talk to the chef. I only tried this at Ariel's Grotto, aside from that we had counter service.

Ariel's Grotto was wonderful. The chef came out and we discussed the whole menu. I wasn't able to eat the bread on the appetizer tray, but there were things I could eat (cheese/fruit). Then I had a salad. Then they brought out my entree. It was some chicken dish, I don't remember anymore, but it tasted very good. The dessert tray was not gluten free, but the chef had them bring out some freshly made orange sorbet so I didn't have to miss out on dessert either. Plus, the entire time my daughter got to meet the princesses. I'm not sure how old your daughter is, but if she's in love with the princesses it might be a good option. They were definitely able to accomodate me there.
