What was the gift that you enjoyed receiving the most this holiday season? What was the weirdest?

My favorite was a complete surprise from my parents: a gorgeous brown Dooney. In the pocket, there was a gift card to WDW. :)

The weirdest was one of those "As Seen on TV" oven mitts from my brother. He's reasoning was to prevent future burns. LOL

Favourite gift: a cool repurposed handbag made from a old army duffle bag that Dh found on etsy for me.

Weirdest: a set of food vacuuming bags with vacuum from my mum.

My favorite gift was a new cordless phone with a hands free headset. I hate talking on the phone and one of the reasons is because I have to hold the phone and can't do other things. A close second was a Mary Poppins Precious Moments figurine.

The weirdest wasn't for me. I got my 10 year old nephew...who is hard to buy for...an anteater bug vacuum with a clear "tummy" to view the bugs in.

My favorite: A pretty apron made from a vintage tablecloth
Weirdest: Batman fuzzy mens footed PJ's with removable cape :confused3

My parents and I didn't exchange that many gifts, but my favorite gift that I got was a pair of dress boots (they are almost knee high). I have a problem finding boots that will fit over my calves and these do, so that is my favorite.

I don't have a weirdest because I didn't really get one...

Although a cool gift I did get was my DBFF got a Paris Daydream candle and wallflower from Bath and Body Works. EXCITED about that!!!

Winner :crazy2:

Favorite: Diamond Jubilee Commemorative plate and book my husband got from London
Weirdest: Got 3 identical sets of potholders and oven mitts from 3 different people - funny that they all went to Kohl's and got the exact same ones!

wierdest - from my "dear" (not) daughter-in-law and my son. A gift certificate for me and Greg for "2 adult salt sessions" at a place called The Salt Cavern. (Also known as "halotherapy", it's a holistic method - blah blah blah - you sit in the salt room and breath in the fine salt air - blah blah blah.) Why on earth she would think Greg and I would like this is beyond me.

Best: My Jimmy Choo boots I have been wanting for forever!

Weirdest: Jar of Old Smokey Moonshine from my brother.

My new Walt Disney World Monorail Playset. I happened to get the Yellow one, pretty awesome! Now I'm all over eBay trying to get some of the retired sets to put on my monorail line. Disney has really fazed out most of the monorail accessories and playsets over the past few years and I'm just starting! :crazy2:

i gave my wife a "charmed memories" bracelet with assorted meaningful charms on it that went over nicely.....whew. i got, among other things, the usual assorted denominations of Disney gift cards which is what i put on my list each year.........i mean Sears? Target? what a waste of a gift card.....Right????

Wasn't the gift also from your Son? Not really sure why your daughter in law is taking total blame for this gift. Personally, I think the gift sounds very nice...however I have a MIL who dislikes me too :)

Merry Christmas!

Yeah that's a hit or miss gift. It sounds thoughtful and someone interested would love it. Some gifts you have to know your audience.

I would be bored staring and breathing. I would have to take a book or my ipod. Is that allowed? I wonder if the space is small. Cause if you were clausterphobic (bad spelling) It would be horrible.

Sorry.

I got a comforter for my dream wood bed which I am saving for. And I received a little money with the comforter to go towards the dream bed fund.

Nothing wierd for me. Although I did received some packets of the Margarita mix which you stick in the freezer and then enjoy later. But I appreciate that. Just a different version of I'm giving you liquor.

My favorite is also my weirdest- but I asked for it. ;)

The book American the Beautiful: Mid-Century Culture in Kodachrome by Charles Pheonix. This is a collection of quirkey old slides taken by random people. Love the pictures! Some remind me of my grandma's house or my parents' photos. Anyway, love this book!

Yes, you're right it was from my son too. My daughter-in-law is into new-age type stuff. I wish you lived nearby - I'd love for someone who appreciated it to use it! I also live 60 miles away from the place, so it's not exactly convenient either.

and Nikki, I know those oven gloves look wierd, but I read somewhere that they actually work as advertised. Give them a try! But the Dooney and WDW gift card - sweet!!

Best gift, by far, the iPhone 5 that DH got me. We actually gave them to each other. It's my first smart phone and I'm having so much fun with it! We'll be spending this weekend with the rest of the family, so I'll have to post later if I receive a weird gift!:goodvibes

Best.... a 4 slice toaster that toasts on both sides of the bread... which my old 2 slice one had forgotten how to do...

Worst/weirdest.... a mass card from my sister who isn't talking to me after having an argument. My mom called her to tell her I hadn't died yet... :lmao:

best gift - check my parents (I bought a new itouch to replace mine that is on it's last breath) and a plate cover (from QVC)

weird gift - dvd (seen on the black friday target ad for $5 or $8) some popcorn containers from SIL. i'm guessing this is for a movie in night. I guess it's the thought that counts.

strangest experience from the day was watching DH and his siblings go through stuff in MIL fridge and cabinet that was expired. :sad2:

:ccat:
Can I have your brother? Or at least his gift... my daughter lives in Sevierville and it is a 20 minute ride into Gatlinburg to the Ole Smokey Mountain Moonshine store... we LOVE that place. 15-20 flavors of moonshine, show your id and they set up up with samples of any or all flavors. One flavor at a time in communion cups. As a matter of fact so happy we are going back in February, we don't have much of the Apple Pie Shine left from our October trip. Buying more than one bottle this time.
