I have been to Epcot several times, but never for a sit down meal! So, what's your favorite place to dine and why?

TIA!

I honestly don't have a great deal of Epcot TS experience, but we ate at Teppanyaki last year and loved it. I have read mixed reviews on it, but we had a good time interacting with the chef and the other families at our table. I recommend it. We are trying Le Cellier on this trip and I am quite excited atfer hearing great things about it. We did not care too much for San Angel in Mexico, but some people really seem to like it.

I am interested to hear if anyone has eaten at Nine Dragons, as I am looking at this for a possibility for my mom and myself in May.

Enjoy!!! :thumbsup2

For us it is LeCellier hands down. The cheese soup followed by the filet with the suggested wine pairing and then onto the desert. We love it there.

My favorite Epcot restaurant is Chefs de France. I always get the French Menu for lunch: French onion soup, toasted ham and cheese sandwich, and creme brulee. I loved dinner the one time I ate there, but I understand they no longer have the beef tenderloin on the menu. It was very good.

Le Cellier, San Angel and Coral Reef are our favorites we have tried so far. Oh and Marrakesh was also a lot of fun and I enjoyed the food but dh did not.

We loved Teppanyaki in Japan although some say it is not the same as it was two years ago when we went. Recently (about 5 weeks ago) we ate at Le Cellier and thought it was fantastic from beginning to end. Here is our review of our recent dinner at Le Cellier http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1238965 :thumbsup2

Wow!! Good question. We've really enjoyed Le Cellier, Marrakesh, and Tempura Kiku.

My favorite is the San Angel Inn!!! :thumbsup2 I love the atomosphere, which is romantic and relaxing, especially if you get a seat overlooking the El Tiempo boat ride! Even if you do have children, it is still a wonderful dining experience if you do enjoy good Mexican food! My DBF and I have dined there alone and other times with my DS, and my DS really liked it as well! I also have had excellent meals that I have enjoyed everytime we go there! :goodvibes

Love Le Cellier for sure. San Angel is beautiful but the food is awful, and service we had last time, lackluster.

Loved the Teppenyaki experience! Been to many like it, and this was a bit more festive even than others I have enjoyed. That's Disney for ya! I found their sushi delicious, too!

I am eager to try the Coral Reef, which I hear is lovely (well, I hear mixed reviews, but the good ones review the type of stuff I normally order, so I trust those), as well as Le Celier's Cheese Soup I hear so much about!

I agree that San Angel seems quite romantic with the "forever evening in the casa" decor, but I hear the food is only so-so. Is that true?

My favorite is Chefs de France, mostly for the sparkling atmosphere! It's a very pretty restaurant, and I love the walls of windows. I really like the macaroni and cheese; DH has had a couple of steaks there that were just so-so. The last time we ate there, we were right by a window and could see Illuminations.

DH's favorite is the Rose and Crown. We just ate there this past weekend, and their steak is back (it was off the menu for a while and then became Steak and Prawns--now it's back to just being Steak! ;) ). He said it was better than the steaks at Le Cellier and Chefs de France. I had a vegetarian entree that is fairly new on the menu, roasted vegetables wrapped in phyllo dough, and it was quite good. We sat outside and looked out over the water--very nice as usual! If you time it right, and get an outside table (not guaranteed), you can watch Illuminations from the Rose and Crown.

DH and I both think Le Cellier feels like dining in a cave. We didn't like the atmosphere/decor at all, and we thought the food was so-so. It gets great reviews on the DIS, though.

We loved Teppanyaki, but keep in mind it will be close for renovations from Jan 15 through May 25: http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/calendar/refurb.asp

We also enjoyed Rose and Crown, and secured a reservation before Illuminations. When the show began, we were directed to a waterside waiting area where we watched the show, and then returned to our table to continue dinner.

Beergarten was another favorite, with a nice buffet if you like German sausage and chicken.

And we were surprise with how the kids enjoyed Rest. Marrakesh. Perhaps it was the belly dancers. :rotfl: :rotfl:

We love Le Cellier. Best steaks and great appetizers.

I love the San Angel Inn for the atmosphere. Some of the food is good. My sister ordered some kind of steak and it was better than the tacos IMO.

It seems to change all the time. Many years ago, BC (before children), it was Bistro then it changed to Chefs, then it was Marakesh until our recent horrible dining experience there. Now I have to say that our favorite Epcot restaurant is Le Cellier.

This is great! Thanks for the responses! So far I have read an overwhelming response for Le Cellier. ANyone else want to give teir response? I'd love to read more! :thumbsup2

One that never really gets mentioned much is Matsunoma Lounge, in Japan. It's a sushi place so if you don't like sushi it's not going to be for you but if you do it's great. It's usually quiet, with a pretty view. We like having lunch there. It's very peaceful, often you can walk in without an ADR. Service is excellent and the sushi is very good.

We enjoyed Restaurant Akershus (Norway princess meal ) for lunch. It was, by far, our best meal of the week in terms of service and food. The soup and sandwich combo was really delicious and the desserts were among the best of the week - on the dining plan that does say something considering we must have tried 40 different desserts between the 4 of us!!! The Biergarten (Germany) was a lot of fun and the food was pretty good but it was the end of the week and the kids were tired so that did put a damper on the night.

We also ate at Le Cellier. It was fine. When we were there, the service was pretty mediocre (like not clearing dishes, not refilling water, not timing the meal very well, not checking on us). The food was fine, some was outstanding, some was just average. If you are looking for "fine dining steak house" then I really don't think Le Cellier fits the bill. If you are looking for a good steak in Epcot, then it does. IMO, it's good, better than Outback/Lonestar, not even in the same league as The Palm. Mortons, Ruth's Chris but since the price is closer to the latter group with quality closer to the former group, I'd have to consider that before returning.

All that said, if you are on the dining plan, you have absolutely nothing to lose by trying Le Cellier. It's a great deal for your table service credits.

We've already decided that on our next trip we won't do Epcot table service dining- just try counter service meals from around the world.

We very much enjoyed Marrakesh last spring because it was such a lovely quiet respite from the pace and noise of the rest of the World. We had early dinner reservations and essentially had the restaurant to ourselves for much of our meal. (I saw another Dis-er complain that it was like "being in a library" -- but for us, that was part of why we liked it!) Just as we were ordering dessert, the music began, and the belly dancer came out as we were tasting our sampler of desserts... It was a fun way to end the meal, after we'd had that time to relax in a quiet atmosphere, and we went back out to the world feeling refreshed and ready to continue exploring. ;) My only complaints were that 1) the food was too mild, too "toned down", though I understand from another Dis-er that you can request that the food be "as you would prepare it at home", and we would definitely request that if we returned, 2) the children's menu had strictly very boring American-kid-food... Luckily, my oldest was allergic to all of those, and they gave us no problem at all about preparing a child's portion of some of their adult fare. My little one picked at the nasty chicken strips and we gave her some of our bountiful adult portions, and everyone was happy.

We enjoyed Rose & Crown mostly because we happened to have great seats for Illuminations and because our waitress was particularly helpful and cheery. The food itself was mediocre (except for the mushroom appetizer, which was heavenly, and the desserts), but we had a great time...
